1.Effect of dexmedetomidine on antioxidant ability in rats brain with focal cerebral ischemia/reperfusion
The Journal of Clinical Anesthesiology 2016;32(5):488-490
Objective To explore the effect of dexmedetomidine preconditioning on antioxidant ability in Rats Brain with focal cerebral ischemia/reperfusion.Methods Forty-two healthy male SD rats, weighted 250-280 g,were randomly divided into three groups (n = 14):sham-operation group (group Sham):in which carotid artery was exposed but MCAO was not performed;ischemia/reper-fusion group(group IR):NS were injected intraperitoneally at 30 minutes before the MCAO;dexme-detomidine group (group Dex):dexmedetomidine 100 μg/kg were injected intraperitioneally injected at 30 minutes before the MCAO.Focal cerebral ischemia-reperfusion (IR)model in rats was made by transient occlusion of the middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO)using a nylon thread with rounded tip inserted into internal carotid artery and advanced cranially until resistance was met.MCAO was maintained for 2 hours followed by 24 hours reperfusion.Neurologic deficit scores(NDS),the infarc-tion volume as well as the activities of endogenous antioxidants (such as superoxide dismutase(SOD), glutathione peroxidase(GSH-PX),glutathione reductase (GR),catalase (CAT))in ischemic brain were evaluated 24 h after reperfusion. Results Compared to group Sham, the neurologic deficit scores and the infarction volume in group Dex and IR were significantly higher, but the concentration of SOD,GSH-PX,GR,CAT were significantly lower(P <0.05).Compared to group IR,however, the neurologic deficit scores and the infarction volume in group Dex were significantly lower, but the concentra-tion of SOD,GSH-PX,GR,CAT were significantly higher (P <0.05).Conclusion Dexmedetomidine can protect the brain from focal cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury, and its mechanism maybe relate to preserving the activities of endogenous antioxidants.
2.Bacterial monitoring on ICU bedside notebook computer keyboards and mice before and after comprehensive intervention
Chinese Journal of Infection Control 2015;(12):843-845
Objective To evaluate the effect of comprehensive intervention measures on reducing the bacterial colonization of the intensive care unit (ICU)bedside notebook computer keyboards and mice. Methods According to bacterial contamination of ICU bedside notebook computer keyboards and mice, comprehensive intervention meas-ures were taken (including wiping computer keyboards and mice with alcohol twice a day, intensifying hand hy-giene,and monitoring hand-washing compliance),specimens of keyboards and mice were taken, bacterial detection results were analyzed. Results Before intervention, bacterial counts of keyboards and mice of 8 specimens were all>5 CFU/cm2 ,detection rate of Bacillus subtilis was 64.71 %,Micrococcus ,coagulase negative staphylococcus, Acinetobacter baumannii ,and Klebsiella pneumoniae were 17.65%-58.82%,Escherichia coli and Acinetobacter calcoaceticus were both 5.88%.After comprehensive intervention measures were taken, bacterial counts of only two specimens of keyboards and mice were >5 CFU/cm2 ,the qualified rate of monitoring result after intervention was significantly higher than before intervention (88.24% vs 52.94%;χ2 =5.10,P <0.05).Conclusion Compre-hensive intervention measures can significantly reduce bacterial count on ICU bedside notebook computer keyboards and mice, and decrease the occurrence of healthcare-associated infection.

Combined with their own advantages of TCM medical volunteers, to carry out the diet instruction, psy-chological counseling, massage, warm room service, telephone return services such as ward, score of life quality of tumor patients on admission and after the volunteer service. Results:Ward accompanying rate dropping, increasing patient satisfaction with nursing service, improving the degree of identification of volunteer service, tumor patients and improving the quality of life, and is conducive to building a perfect medical students social practice platform. Conclusion:Volunteer services improve the quality of nursing service, cultivating a correct outlook on life, values and morality of medical volunteers, strengthening medical volunteer service consciousness, achieving win-win for patients, departments, volunteers.
4.Treatment and prognosis of middle cerebral artery stenosis
International Journal of Cerebrovascular Diseases 2014;22(1):57-61
Intracranial arterial stenosis is the most common vascular lesions in patients with acute stroke in Chinese population, and most of them are middle cerebral artery (MCA) stenosis. The treatment of asymptomatic MCA stenosis is mainly to control the risk factors and treat with drugs, and the prognosis is better.Statins can reduce new stroke events. The treatment programs of symptomatic MCA stenosis are mainly to control the risk factors, treat with drugs and stenting. Now it is considered that anticoagulants are not superior to antiplatelet drugs in the treatment of MCA stenosis, but whether dual antiplatelet drugs are superior to monotherapy and stenting remains to be determined. The prognosis of symptomatic MCA stenosis is poor. The prognosis of acute phase mainly depends upon imaging features, and the risk of recurrent stroke is primarily associated with the MCA stenosis.Future research should focus on whether dual antiplatelet therapy is superior to monotherapy, and whether stenting is superior to drug treatment,as well as the relationship between the degree of MCA stenosis and prognosis of acute phase or the risk of recurrent stroke.
5.Removal of human B-like antigen on cynomolgus monkey RBC by ?-galactosidase treatment
Chinese Journal of Blood Transfusion 1988;0(04):-
Objective To observe the effects of enzymolysis of human B like antigen by ? galactosidase treatment on the morphology and function of cynomolgus monkey red blood cell (RBC) and to evaluate the safety of the enzyme treated RBC in animal transfusion. Methods RBC with human B like antigen was treated by recombined ? galactosidase and the effect was evaluated by absorption elution test. Meanwhile, morphology and function of the treated RBC were examined and compared with pre treatment RBC. ? galactosidase treated RBC was labeled with FITC and then infused to blood group A cynomolgus monkeys. Flow cytometry was used to detect the survival of donor RBC in recipient’s blood. Blood chemistry and urinalysis of recipients were performed before and after transfusion. Results The human B like antigen of cynomolgus monkey RBC was obliterated by ? galactosidase treatment and the treated RBC maintained normal morphology and function. Survival at 24 h after transfusion was 84.6% and 68.1%. T 1/2 were 7d and 8d versus 13d in the controls. There were no change in blood chemistry and urinalysis of the recipients. Conclusion Enzymolysis of cynomolgus monkey RBC does not affect the cellular function and morphology. Transfusion of the enzyme treated human B like RBC into human A like cynomolgus monkeys is safe.
