Objectives To establish an evaluation index system for general hospital's sustainable innovation ability of science and technoloby and determine the index weight. Methods Firstly, the theory of scientific and technological innovation was discussed based on the systematic analysis of the related facts from the documents. Secondly, a set of targets was drafted with methods of work breakdown structure (WBS), classification and combination from references to many other studies of science and technology evaluation, and then revised by experts who are familiar with the subject. Thirdly, the weight of each target was decided through Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and questionnaires. Results A systematic and comprehensive evaluation system of the general hospital's sustainable innovation ability of science and technology, comprised 3 first-level indicators, 15 second-level indicators and 37 third-level indicators, which were proved reliable by consistency check. The weights of each indicator were also defined. Conclusions The evaluation system comprises both qualitative and quantitative indicators. The indicators not only reflect the performance of a period, but also reflect the sustainability of large general hospitals' scientific and technological innovation ability. By using the scientific consultation, analysis and statistics, the evaluation system is proved to be valid and reliable.

Objective To evaluate the sustainable innovative ability of science and technology (S &T) of four large general hospitals from three different regions of China(Chongqing, Shaanxi and Hunan) with an evaluation system. Method The data collected were processed with normalization method. The evaluation models were established and varied in design to reflect either the dynamic trends or the levels of innovative abilities in different hospitals. Results Hospital A, B and D took on an ascending trend in sustainable S & T ability for innovation, while hospital C showed a descending trend in recent years. Overall, hospital A and D had a stronger sustainable S & T ability for innovation than hospital B and C. Conclusion The eval-uation system established is able to reflect the levels and trends of sustainable S & T innovative ability of the selected hospitals, which is in accordance with the actual situations, and is therefore scientific and feasible. It could provide reference for hospital S & T administrators to make decisions and is favorable to the sustainable development of hospital's S & T innovative ability.

AIM To investigate the effects of Wuzi Yanzong Prescription (Lycii Fructus,Cuscutae Semen,Rubi Fructus,Plantaginis Semen and Schisandrae chinensis Fructus) on DNA damage of testis cells in adult male mice induced by cyclophosphamide (CTX).METHODS Forty out of fifty adult male Balb/C mice were injected intraperitoneally with CTX and then were randomly and equally divided into model control group (normal saline),Wuzi Yanzong Prescription low-,medium-and high-dose groups (100,200 and 400 mg/kg),and the other ten mice served as normal control group (normal saline). All mice were anesthetized by inhalation of ether, and then were sacrificed by cervical dislocation. The sperm count, sperm motility and malformation rate of sperm were tested. The content of 8-hydroxy-deoxyguanosine (8-OHdG) in serum was measured using ELISA;the DNA damage degree of cells in testis was detected by single cell gel electrophoresis;the protein expressions of p-P53 and γ-H2AX in testis were examined by Western blot.RESULTS Compared with the model control group,Wuzi Yanzong Prescription groups showed significant increase in the sperm count, sperm motility and significantly decreased malformation rate of sperm, the level of 8-OHdG in serum, and the protein expressions of p-P53 and γ-H2AX in testis were also significantly decreased.CONCLUSION Wuzi Yanzong Prescription can significantly alleviate the DNA damage of testis cells in mice induced by CTX through down-regulating protein expressions of p-P53 and γ-H2AX.

Correlation between nonlinear subharmonic scattering of ultrasound contrast agent microbubbles and ambient pressure is expected to be used for local brain tissue pressure monitoring. Although high-frequency ultrasound has achieved high-resolution imaging of intracranial microvessels, the research on high-frequency subharmonic scattering characteristics of microbubbles is insufficient at present, which restricts the research progress of estimating local brain tissue pressure based on high-frequency subharmonic scattering of microbubbles. Therefore, under the excitation of 10 MHz high-frequency ultrasound, the effects of different acoustic pressures and ambient pressures on the high-frequency subharmonic scattering characteristics of three different ultrasound contrast agents including SonoVue, Sonazoid and Huashengxian were investigated in this in vitro study. Results showed that the subharmonic scattering amplitudes of the three microbubbles increased with the increase of ambient pressure at the peak negative acoustic pressures of 696, 766 and 817 kPa, and there was a favorable linear correlation between subharmonic amplitude and ambient pressure. Under the above three acoustic pressures, the highest correlation coefficient of SonoVue was 0.948 ( P = 0.03), the highest sensitivity of pressure measurement was 0.248 dB/mm Hg and the minimum root mean square error (RMSE) was 2.64 mm Hg. Sonazoid's highest correlation coefficient was 0.982 ( P < 0.01), the highest sensitivity of pressure measurement was 0.052 dB/mm Hg and the minimum RMSE was 1.51 mm Hg. The highest correlation coefficient of Huashengxian was 0.969 ( P = 0.02), the highest sensitivity of pressure measurement was 0.098 dB/mm Hg and the minimum RMSE was 2.00 mm Hg. The above in vitro experimental results indicate that by selecting ultrasound contrast agent microbubbles and optimizing acoustic pressure, the correlation between high-frequency subharmonic scattering of microbubbles and ambient pressure can be improved, the sensitivity of pressure measurement can be upgraded, and the measurement error can be reduced to meet the clinical demand for local brain tissue pressure measurement, which provided an important experimental basis for subsequent research in vivo.
