Objective Analyzing the impact of teachers' background characteristics on the Students' evaluation to improve the quality of teaching from the angle of the teachers professional development. Methods Based on the data of students' evaluation of teaching of Shanghai medical college of Fudan University from 2008 to 2011, the article analyzed the teachers' gender, age, job title, diploma, and other relevant background characteristics. Excell2007 was used to build dataset and the data was analyzed statistically by software of SPSS 11.0 and expressed with x±s. The statis-tical method of one-way analysis of variance was used to compare the teachers with different genders, education backgrounds, ages and professional titles, showing statistically significant difference (P<0.05). Results comparative analysis showed that no statistically significant differences existed in fac-ulty teaching evaluation scores among the teachers of different genders or different education back-grounds(P=0.613 9、0.891 0). There were however significant differences in teaching evaluation of teachers of diverse ages and professional ranks(P=0.017 3 and P=0.032 5). Conclusions According to the analysis results of faculty teaching evaluations, associate professors' teaching evaluation scores were lower than intermediate grade teachers', and the score of the teachers between the age of 41 to 45 was lower than that of the teachers between the age of 36 to 40. Therefore individual variations and various social backgrounds of teaching faculties should be taken into consideration and the corre-sponding countermeasures for the professional development of teachers should been put forward. In addition, the cultivation of new teachers, young and middle-aged teachers should be strengthened, and the proportion of teaching evaluation in the Performance Appraisal should be increased.

To observe a PPAR-alpha agonist effect of N-oleoylethanolamine (OEA) on CB2 (cannabinoid receptor 2), an anti-inflammatory receptor in vascular endothelial cell, healthy HUVECs and TNF-alpha induced HUVECs were used to establish a human vascular endothelial cell inflammatory model. Different doses of OEA (10, 50 and 100 micromol x L(-1)) had been given to HUVECs, cultured at 37 degrees C for 7 h and then collected the total protein and total mRNA. CB2 protein expression was detected by Western blotting and CB2 mRNA expression was assayed by real-time PCR. As the results shown, OEA (10 and 50 micromol x L(-1)) could induce the CB2 protein and mRNA expression, but not 100 micromol x L(-1). To detect if anti-inflammation effect of OEA is partly through CB2, CB2 inhibitor AM630 was used to inhibit HUVEC CB2 expression, then the VCAM-1 expression induced by TNF-alpha was detected, or THP-1 adhere to TNF-alpha induced HUVECs was examined. OEA (50 micromol x L(-1)) could inhibit TNF-alpha induced VCAM-1 expression and THP-1 adhere to HUVECs, these effects could be partly inhibited by a CB2 inhibitor AM630. The anti-inflammation effect of OEA is induced by PPAR-alpha and CB2, suggesting that CB2 signaling could be a target for anti-atherosclerosis, OEA have wide effect in anti-inflammation, it may have better therapeutic potential in anti-inflammation in HUVECs, thus achieving anti-atherosclerosis effect.

Journal of Experimental Hematology 2004;12(4):464-466
To study the expression and significance of WT1 gene in patients with myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) and acute leukemia (AL), RT-PCR was applied to monitor WT1 gene expression in 22 patients with MDS and in 69 patients with AL. The results showed that the positive rate of WT1 mRNA in MDS-RA and MDS-RAS was lower than that in MDS-RAEB and MDS-RAEB-t (10% versus 91.7%, P < 0.01). WT1 mRNA could be expressed in all subtype of AL, It was detected in 69% of newly diagnosed and relapsed patients, and in 12.5% patients CR. There was no difference at the relative expression level between newly diagnosed AL patients and relapsed patients, while the relative level of WT1 in MDS-RAEB and MDS-RAEB-t was lower than that in newly diagnosed AL. The CR rate in AML patients with positive expression was lower than that in patients with negative expression (41% versus 78%, P = 0.05). AML patients with relative level of WT1 mRNA >/= 1 had lower CR rate (18%) than those with relative level < 1 (55%). It is concluded that the expression of WT1 gene in patients with MDS-RAEB and RAEB-t was higher than that in patients with RA and RAS. The detection of WT1 gene may be useful for assessing disease progress of patients with MDS. The expression of WT1 gene and its expression level have associated with the prognosis of newly diagnosed patients with AL, that WT1 gene may be an independent prognostic factor in AML.

Chinese Journal of Traumatology 2008;11(6):380-384
Management of extensive bone and soft tissue defects, which occur after severe trauma of lower extremities and always lead to an unacceptable amputation in some cases, continues to challenge reconstructive surgeons. When performing lower extremity amputation, preservation of the knee joint has been put into a higher priority. The benefit of below-knee amputation over above-knee ones concentrates on a more normal gait with less energy expenditure during ambulation when a functioning knee joint is present.
