Objective:To study vascular endothelial growth factor receptor (VEGFR) in bladder carcinoma and its relationship with clinical pathology.Methods:VEGFR of bladder carcinoma samples (50 cases) and normal bladder tissues (20 cases) was detected with immunohistochemistry which was streptomyces-antibiotin-peroxidase-linkage-Technique (Technique SP).Results:VEGFR was positive in most of bladder carcinoma cases.Percentage was 74%.Expression level had positive relationship with pathologicl level and tissue grade.Conclusion:VEGFR was positive in bladder carcinoma.It indicated that VEGFR had important function in angiogenesis of bladder carcinoma. Objective To analyze the allele frequencies of 5 short tandem repeat(STR)loci(D12S313,D12S304,D12S1640,D12S1708 and D12S1583)on chromosome 12 among Kashin-Beck disease(KBD)patients and the control population living in the area suffered from KBD.Methods Fifty KBD patient8 and 50 non-KBD patients were chosen in endemic afea of Shaanxi Province,5 STR loci on chromosome 12 were genotyped by the technology of polymerase chain reacfion(PCR)and capillary electmphoresis.The pelymorphisms of STR in these popIllations were analyzed.The allele and genotype frequencies of each STR in the corresponding groups were caleulated and compared. Results In KBD group,the 5 STR loci had 8,6,7,5 and 11 types ofalleles and 17,11,15,8 and 28 genotypes, respectively;while in the control group,the number of aUele types of 5 STR loci were 6,8,6,4 and 10,the number of genotype of those loci were 13,21,14,8 and 23,respectively The allele frequence of D12S304 locus was statiBtically significant between KBD patients and controls(P<0.05),especially for the 319 bp allele(P<0.006 25). Conclusion There is an association between D12S304 locus and KBD.The 319 bp allele might play the key role.

·AIM:To report a case of entry of antibiotic ointment into the anterior chamber following sutureless clear corneal incisions phacoemulsification.·METHODS:A 62-year-old man had uneventful phaco-emulsification with clear corneal incisions with intraocular lens(IOL) implantation. Postoperative medication included antibiotic/steroid ointment; the eye was firmly patched at the end of the procedure. On the first postoperative day, the patient was seen an oily droplet floating in the anterior chamber. Immediate surgical removal of the ointment without IOL exchange was performed.·RESULTS:During follow-up for six months after irrigation/aspiration of the anterior chamber and removal of the oily droplet, visual acuity and intraocular pressure (IOP) were unchanged and anterior segment was formed and quiet.·CONCLUSION:Ophthalmic ointment may ingress into the anterior chamber through unstable clear corneal incisions. The case highlights the importance of appropriate wound construction and integrity, as well as the risk of tight eye patching following placement of ointment.

Objective The aim of this paper is to know about the pollution of microcystin-LR(MC-LR)in Fenhe First reservoir and Fenhe Second reservoir in Taiyuan and provide reference for making the policy of prevention microcystin-LR pollution.Methods During the low water period(May,2005)and common period(Oct,2005),5 liter water was sampled in the entrance,the center and the exit in Fenhe First reservoir and Fenhe Second reservoir respectively.The concentrations of MC-LR in two reservoirs were determined by the high-performance liquid chromatography(HPLC).Results The average concentration (0.875 ?g/L)of MC-LR in low water period was 3 time of that(0.283 ?g/L)in common period in Fenhe First reservoir.The average concentration(0.815 ?g/L)of MC-LR in low water period was 17 time of that(0.048 ?g/L)in common period in Fenhe Second reservoir.The level of MC-LR in the entrance was the highest,that in the exit was the lowest,that in the center was middle. The concentration of MC-LR of the entrance in low water period was more than the MC-LR limit(1 ?g/L)in Life drinking water hygienic guide(2001).Conclusion MC-LR pollution has been found in Fenhe First reservoir and Fenhe Second reservoir and the pollution is serious in low water period.

Aim The m_5AChR-G_ 11? fusion protein was expressed by baculovirus-Sf9 cells system, then using it to identify the specific agonists and antagonists for m_5AChR via detecting the affinity of GDP and m_5AChR-G_ 11?. Methods The m_5AChR-G_ 11? fused cDNAs were generated via a two-step PCR protocol and inserted into pBacPAK9 virus vector. We expressed m_5AChR-G_ 11? fusion protein and m_5AChR protein using baculovirus-Sf9 cell system. [ 3H]QNB and [ 35S]GTP?S binding tests were performed to detect the expressional level of receptor proteins and determine the affinity of GDP and m_5AChR-G_ 11? fusion protein. Results The expression level of m_5AChR-G_ 11? was (47.6?3.2) nmol?g -1 protein. The affinity of GDP to G_ 11? partner changed in the presence of different muscarinic ligands. IC_ 50 values of GDP in the presence of ACh, YM796, Oxotremorine, Methixene, Dextimide and atropine were 128.0, 72.1, 68.5, 16.2, 14.9 and 9.7 ?mol?L -1 respectively, and that in the absence of muscarinic ligand was 20.8 ?mol?L -1. Conclusion The m_5AChR-G_ 11? fusion protein has the pharmacological specificity of M_5 receptor and the efficient coupling interaction of the two partner. Affinity of GDP to ligand bound m_5AChR-G_ 11? fusion protein represents the species of muscarinic ligands. ACh is a full agonist for m_5AChR-G_ 11? fusion protein, YM796 and oxotremorine are partial agonists, while methixene, dextimide and atropine are antagonists.

Objective To evaluate the usefulness of magnetic resonance spectroscopic imaging in detecting local recurrence in patients with T3N0M0 prostate cancer after cryotherapy.Methods Sixty-five patients with T3N0M0 prostate cancer underwent cryotherapy.The preoperative data of conventional MRI,MRS,transrectal ultrasound (TRUS)-guided prostate biopsy were collected.After cryotherapy,the prostate specific antigen (PSA) of all patients was detected monthly.If PSA ＞5 μg/L,MRI,MRS,and TRUS-guided prostate biopsy were planned within a week.If PSA was unremarkable,MRI,MRS,and TRUS-guided prostate biopsy were planned 12 months after cryotherapy.The prostate was divided 6 regions and the cancerous and noncancerous were marked.The signal-to-noise ratio(S/N) of choline (Cho),citrate (Cit)and the ratios of Cho + creatine ( Cre)/Cit of each regions were measured in pre-operation and postoperation.The patients were divided into non-recurrence and recurrence group according to TRUS-guided biopsy.The S/N of Cho,Cit,and the ratio of Cho + Cre/Cit were compared between the groups before and after cryotherapy by using independent samples t-test.Results ( 1) Fifteen patients were confirmed local recurrence 12 months after cryotherapy,including 11patients with an evaluate PSA level and 4 patients with PSA umemarkable.(2) The S/N of Cho,Cit and the ratios of Cho + Cre/Cit in the cancerous and noncancerous regions before cryotherapy in the sixty-five patients were 25 + 9,11+ 5,and 18 + 5,and 39 ±12,2.33 +0.60,and 0.53 ± 0.19.There had significant difference between that of two groups ( t values were 11.36,9.81,and 13.39,respectively,P =0.00).(3) In the patients with non-recurrence,The S/N of Cho,Cit in the cancerous and noncancerous regions were 4 ± 2 and 3 ± 2 ( t =1.024,P =0.305 ),and 2 +2 and 4 ±3 (t =1.147,P =0.178) and no difference was found.In necrotic area,the ratios of Cho + Cre/Cit could not be calculated because of low level of the S/N of Cho and Cit.(4)In the patients with local recurrence after cryotherapy,the S/N of Cho and Cit in the cancerous and noncancerous regions were 17 ±3 and 3 ± 2 ( t =17.24,p =0.00 ),9 ± 2 and 3 ± 3 ( t =23.66,P =0.00 ) and a significant difference was found.The ratio of Cho + Cre/Cit in the recurrent area was no significant different compared with that of preoperation(t =1.214,P =0.256 ).In necrotic area,the ratios of Cho + Cre/Cit could not be calculated because of low level of the S/N of Cho and Cit.Conclusions MRS is a useful tool to evaluate the changes of the S/N of Cho and Cit,the ratios of the Cho + Cre/Cit and help diagnosis of local recurrence.
