The paper discusses whether to maintain nonhealthy foetus,the bearing control of patients with hereditary diseases,the aim to apply the technique to distinguish foetus' sex and personal morals and social ethical problems for health staff to do that,points out that the technique can be applied only to check hereditary diseases as to be benefit to bearing good child and arising people's quality ,and the techique should be controlled properly as not to serve for feudal ethic.

Objective To investigate the state of self-perceived burden (SPB) and depression and to explore the relationship between them for patients with chronic respiratory diseases.Methods 95 patients with chronic respiratory diseases were investigated by the Self-Perceived Burden Scale (SPBS) and Self-Rating Depression Scale (SDS).Results The average score of SPBS was (33.64±10.23) points,which was at the middle level,90.5％ of patients showed different levels of burden,and 34.7％ of patients were at the high level.The average score of SDS was (50.23±11.93),the index was 0.63,which was at the middle to high level,74.7％ of patients showed different levels of depression,and 33.7％ of patients were at the high level.There was a positive conrelation between SPB and depression.Conclusions Patients with chronic respiratory diseases had obvious SPB and depression,and there was a close relationship between them.With chronic respiratory diseases breaking out repeatedly and more severe year by year,most patients have high level of burden and negative emotions.Nurses should take proper measures and psychological interventions to help patients face to the diseases optimistically,and to improve patients' emotion state and enhance their physical and mental health.

Ovarian cancer is highly lethal despite multiple therapies, and new therapies are therefore needed.Retinoids are potential anticancer drugs that can promote apoptosis,inhibit growth and induce differentiation in cancer cells,and all these functions are regulated by the expression of retinoid receptors.Herein the recent researches on the expression of retinoid receptors in ovarian cancer are reviewed.

With the wide application of Chinese herbal medicine, herb-drug interaction (HDI) has become increasingly prominent. Metabolic enzymes and transporters are the main targets of HDI, because the changes in expression and function of enzymes and transporters can influence the disposition of drugs. Metabolic enzymes are responsible for the metabolic clearance of drugs, including cytochrome P450 (CYP), UDP-glucuronyl transferase (UGT) and sulfotransferases (SULT); transporters widely expressed in the intestine, kidney, liver and brain are involved in the oral absorption, distribution and excretion of drugs. Pueraria, ginkgo, ginseng, St. John's wort and other Chinese herbal medicine often induce a HDI because those herbal medicines combined with chemical medicine are widely used in clinic. The components of herb medicines mentioned above are prone to interact with enzymes and transporters, which often induce a HDI. This paper reviews the advances in the study of enzymes and transporters-mediated pharmacokinetic mechanism of HDI.

Objective To investigate the treatment of pronation external rotation ankle injuries and to evaluate its outcomes. Methods 58 cases of severe ankle injuries of pronation external rotation type who had been hospitalized between October, 2001 and October, 2003 were retrospectively analyzed. They were 42 males and 16 females, with an average age of 32.4 years old (16 to 61 years old). According to Lauge Hansen classification, 39 cases were grouped as grade Ⅲ, while other 19 cases as grade Ⅳ. Most cases were surgically managed, and routine examinations were done. Results The average follow up period was 16.4 months (from 10 to 36 months). The satisfactory outcome was 89.7%. 2 cases of osteoarthritis were observed. Conclusions In treatment of pronation external rotation ankle injuries, the key points are to correct the fibular shortening and external rotation and to take great care of technical details.

Presently, there are 3 problems in the study of human embryonic pluripotent stem cells: short of materials, complicacy of culture system and spontaneous differentiation. Both basic research and clinical application of human embryonic pluripotent stem cells were hindered by these 3 basic problems. New embryonic pluripotent stem cells should be established by combining nucleus transfer and plasma reprograming, and their possible mechanisms and key factors need further study. The culture system should be simplified and cell differentiation must be inhibited when pluripotent stem cell is cultured. When pluripotent stem cells are induced to differentiation, combination of several methods should be used to induce and select specific cell lineages, and the morphology and function of the target cell must be evaluated.

Categorical perception (CP) is the unique phenomenon that gradually morphed physical feature in a stimulus continuum tends to be perceived as discrete representations. CP has been evidenced in several modalities in the sensor perception. The first study of CP of phonetic perception was performed in 1957. However, the early CP studies focused on segmental features. The first study of CP of pitch contours was performed until 1976. This article will review the results of previous studies focus on the categorical perception applies to the lexical tone perception.

In order to get the adaptive bandwidth of mean shift to make the tumor segmentation of brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to be more accurate, we in this paper present an advanced mean shift method. Firstly, we made use of the space characteristics of brain image to eliminate the impact on segmentation of skull; and then, based on the characteristics of spatial agglomeration of different tissues of brain (includes tumor), we applied edge points to get the optimal initial mean value and the respectively adaptive bandwidth, in order to improve the accuracy of tumor segmentation. The results of experiment showed that, contrast to the fixed bandwidth mean shift method, the method in this paper could segment the tumor more accurately.

A large quantity of mice McAb ascites with monoclonal antibody (McAb) hybridoma cells separated from mice ascites was prepared. Ascites of mice inoculated with McAb hybridoma cells were collected, and the McAb hybridoma cells were isolated by centrifugation with lymphocyte separating fluid. McAb hybridoma cells then were injected into other mice abdominal cavity to prepare ascites again. McAb hybridoma cells separated from a mouse could be injected into the abdominal cavity of 5 mice.　Each mouse could produce 3.97 ml ascites on average. This method could be used to prepare large quantity of high titer mice monoclonal anti-HBs/a ascites.
