1.Clinical Observation on Carpal Joint Sprain by Puncturing Juliao (GB 29)
Journal of Acupuncture and Tuina Science 2010;08(3):196-198
Objective: To observe the effect of puncturing Juliao (GB 29) in treating carpal joint sprain. Methods: 99 cases were randomly divided into 3 groups, treatment, control 1 and control 2 groups, 33 cases for each group. Cases in treatment group were treated by acupuncture on Juliao (GB 29); patients in control 1 group were treated by acupuncture at Sanyinjiao (SP 6), and patients in control 2 group were treated by local application. The clinical effect was compared among three groups after the treatment. Results: The effective rate in the treatment group is 96.9%, which is over and above 84.8% in control 1 group and 75.8% in control 2 group (both P<0.05). Conclusion: Acupuncture at Juliao (GB 29) has a precise curative effect in treating sprain of carpal joint. It is more effective than acupuncture at Sanyinjiao (SP 6) and local application.
2.Thyroid function in patients with severe acute respiratory syndrome
Chinese Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism 1985;0(01):-
Plasma thyroid hormones were measured in 8 patients with severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS). The results showed that plasma TT_3 and FT_3 levels were decreased and plasma rT_3 level tended to increase in these patients. These findings are in accord with the diagnosis of low T_3 syndrome.
3.Clinical analysis for five cases of primary hypothyroidism with main manifestations of muscular damage
Chinese Journal of General Practitioners 2005;0(12):-
Objective To improve the understanding of clinical features, pathological changes and therapy in patients of severe primary hypothyroidism accompanied with myoapthy. Methods Clinical features and prognosis of five cases of primary hypothyroidism accompanied with severe myopathy admitted to the hospital during March 1996 to November 2003 were anaylzed retrospectively by medical records combined with review of relevant literatures. Results Prominent clinical manifestations of the five patients were muscular damage, symmetrical proximal weakness of the muscles(myasthenia),shortness of breath, chest pain, dysphagia, and significant increase in activity of serum creatine phosphokinase(2 885~10 450(U/L).)Conclusions Patients of primary hypothynoidism with muscular damage should be diffrentiated from those of polymyositis and better effectiveness can be achieved for its related myopathy by timely thyroid hormone replacement therapy.

Journal of Practical Stomatology 1996;0(02):-
Objective:To investigate the correlation between human herpesvirus-6(HHV-6) infection and pathogenesis of oral squamous cell carcinoma. Methods:Samples of saliva, peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs),tumor tissue and tumor adjacent tissue were collected from 82 patients with oral squamous cell carcinoma, 25 patients with oral precancer lesion and 40 healthy young adults(controls). Nested PCR assay was used to examine HHV-6 infection.Results:1)In control, precancer lesion and carcinoma groups, HHV-6 positive rates(%) were 45.0,56.0, 72.0 in saliva, 22.5,48.0,57.3 in PBMCs, and general rates(%) were 47.5,56.0 and 80.5 respectively(control vs carcinoma,P0.05).Conclusions:Saliva gland is the position of HHV-6 latency/proliferation and saliva is the predominant route of HHV-6 transmission; HHV-6 infection correlates to the pathogenesis of oral squamous cell carcinoma.
9.GluR2 expression in developing rat cochlear nucleus and relationship with development of synapse
Journal of Shanghai Jiaotong University(Medical Science) 2006;0(12):-
Objective To investigate the trend of developmental expression of GluR2,subtype of alpha-amino-3-hydroxy-5-methylisoxazole-4-propionic acid(AMPA) receptor and synaptophysin(SYP) in the rat cochlear nucleus(CN) in different developmental stages, and explore the association of GluR2 expression with the development of synapse. Methods SD rats of 2,3,4,6,8 and 10 weeks old were selected, the expression of GluR2 and SYP in CN was detected with immunofluorescence histochemical method, and the association of them was explored. Results GluR2 expression was observed in all the neurons of CN in each postnatal groups. The expression was relatively weaker in the second and third week, became denser in the fourth week, reached the peak in the sixth week and then sharply decreased to the weakest in the tenth week. The expression of GluR2 was denser at granular cell layer, while weaker at molecular layer and multipolar cell layer in the dorsal CN.SYP expression was detected in all the neurons of CN in each postnatal groups. The expression was weakest in the second week, significantly denser in the fourth week, reached the peak in the sixth week, was then sharply decreased and stably maintained. Conclusion The expressions of GluR2 and SYP in the postnatal rat CN exhit an equally age-dependent tendency. The expression of GluR2 in the CN may be associated with the the maturation and function development of the CN.The different expression and distribution of GluR2 and SYP in the rat CN of different developmental stages may be involved in the development and plasticity of auditory center.

Cancer stem cells are a new field with the gradual deep understanding of the stem cell research. Although its history is not long, the rapid development showed a good potential prospect. The existence of cancer stem cells and its use as tumor formation, growth and metastasis-based approach has been widely recognized. In theory, cancer stem cells derived from normal stem cells can transform. Cancer-causing factors can also be derived-from the dedifferentiation induced cells. Because it contains all-round, multi-and single stem cell, with the proliferation and differentiation potential of different directions, it is possible to explain the heterogeneity of tumor cells, and reasons for hypoxic environment, anti-cancer drugs and radiation resilience. In this area, it has been made a lot of progress in recent years. However, there are still some problems to be solved. Such as the identification of cancer stem cells, biological function and mechanism.
