Journal of Audiology and Speech Pathology 2004;0(05):-
Objective To explore the influence of gentamycin on murine cochlea spiral ganglion neurons' electrophysiological properties and its significance. Methods Using whole-cell voltage clamp technique, we studied gentamycin's influence on the peak currents of the potassium and sodium ion channels on cell membranes of acutely dissociated murine spiral ganglion neurons, the relationship to gentamycin's concentration in extracellular fluid, and the currents' recovery after gentamycin being washed out. Results Gentamycin could inhibit voltage-dependent potassium channels, but it couldn't inhibit voltage-dependent sodium channels. Gentamycin's inhibitation on potassium currents had dose-dependence with gentamycin's concerntration in extracellular fluid and the currents recoverd incompletely after gentamycin being washed out. Conclusion This research explained the ototoxic mechanism of gentamycin through its action on keeping from spiral ganglion neurons' potassium ion channels from the electrophysiological aspect, and set a foundation for further research.

Journal of Clinical Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery 2015;29(10):903-905
OBJECTIVE:
To study the clinical feature and treatment of extracranial and intracranial complications caused by otitis media.
METHOD:
Three hundred and twenty patients of acute and chronic otitis media were admitted to our department between 2005 and 2014. Among them, 34 patients were diagnosed with extracranial and intracranial complications. The clinical features and treatment outcome were retrospectively studied. Of the 34 patients associated with complications, 25 had a single complication,8 had two complications and 1 had three complications. Complications included labyrinthitis in 14 cases, facial paralysis in 11, postauricular subperiosteal abscess in 6, Bezold abscess in 1, thrombophlebitis of sigmoid sinus in 2, otitis meningitis in land otogenic brain abscess in 8.
RESULT:
Thirty-three patients were cured or improved and 1 patient died.
CONCLUSION
Due to the widespread use of antibiotics, the clinical manifestations of extracranial and intracranial complications of otitis media become more hidden and atypical. The surgery is the primary treatment method.

Journal of Clinical Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery 2009;(22):1038-1043
Objective: To explore the nature of voltage dependent ion channels and basic electrophysiological characteristics of cochlear spiral ganglion neurons of apical and basal turn by patch clamp techniques of whole cell configure on murine spiral ganglion neurons. Method: Different voltage dependent ionic currents were recorded with patch clamp techniques of whole cell configure on the condition of different internal electrode solution, blockers and stimulus protocol. Result: Inward sodium channel current(I_(Na)), hyperpolarization-activated inward cationic current(I_h) ,outward delay rectification potassium current (I_k) and outward transient potassium current (I_A)were recorded , significant difference of electrophysiological characteristics of I_A and I_k was found between apical and basal turns(P<0.05). Conclusion: Various ionic currents are recorded, which shows that spiral ganglion neurons have the base of ionic channels to complete formation, conduction and modulation of action potential for auditory information transduction, the difference of electrophysiological characteristics between apical and basal turns contributes to the course of hearing formation.

Journal of Audiology and Speech Pathology 1997;0(04):-
Objective The purpose of this study w as to obtain tympanometric norms in Sichuan young adult population and compare the results with data obtained for a non-Hispanic Caucasian population. Methods Normative values for peak compensated static acou stic admittance(Peak Ytm), acoustic equivalent volume(Vea), and tympanometric wi dth(TW) were obtained for 102 Sichuan young adults. Results Significant differences were fo und between Roup′s results and ous for Peak Ytm, Vea and TW. The present study showed lower Peak Ytm, smaller Vea and larger TW values overall. Gender differences were noted for Peak Ytm and Vea in Sichuan subjects . Male had higher Peak Ytm and bigger Vea values than female. Conclusion We should establish our own tympanometric norm s to guide our audiological clinical work.

OBJECTIVE To evaluate the quality of follow-up in Chinese Archives Of Otolaryngology-Head And Neck surgery and offer evidence for the improvement of follow up. METHODS Chinese Archives Of Otolaryngology-Head And Neck surgery (January 1994 to December 2005) were searched, and clinical materials of follow-up was identified and analyzed. RESULTS Seventy-six issues were referred to and one hundred ninety-nine papers were finally identified and analyzed. CONCLUSION Although there are major problems on follow-up in Chinese Archives Of Otolaryngology-Head And Neck Surgery and Archives Of Otolaryngology-Head And Neck Surgery, much improvement has been made on the quantity and quality of clinical material follow-up in Chinese Archives Of Otolaryngology-Head And Neck Surgery.

OBJECTIVE To investigate the epidemic features of allergic rhinitis at out-patient in western area of China(Chengdu in Sichuan province, Chongqing, Urumchi in Xinjiang province, Nanning in Guangxi province). METHODS A questionnaire survey on AR, rhinology examination and skin prick test were carried out among 2267 AR patients at out-patient, from Mar. 2005 to Dec. 2006. RESULTS The incidence rate of sneezing、runny nose、stuffy nose、itchy nose were 88%, 89.19%, 85.58%, 83.58% respectively. 43.80% of AR patients had inherent predisposition that 25.50% had hereditary AR and 13.45% had hereditary asthma. 46.98% of AR patients had other allergic diseases, among them 10.50% combined with asthma. According to the classification criteria of Haikou in 1997 and ARIA in 2001, there were mainly seasonal AR and mild intermittent AR in Urumchi area, while perennial AR and moderate-severe persistent AR in other areas. There was a significant impairment in Quality of life that 50% were always upset and 40% didn't sleep well and more than 10% had emotional affections. CONCLUSION We had got epidemic data such as characteristics of clinical presentation of AR at out-patient in western of China. Strategy of prevention and treatment of AR should be worked out according to the epidemic feature of AR.

Objective To investigate the clinical procedural performance of CT-guided needle biopsy for peritoneal lesions. Methods CT-guided needle biopsy was performed in 84 consecutive patients (M : F=26 : 58) with peritoneal lesions. Results Among 84 cases,60 lesions were malignant (55 metastatic tumor,4 mesothelioma,1 lymphoma) and 24 were benign (11 tuberculosis, 13 inflammation).3 cases failed to get clear pathologic diagnosis because of lost data.Diagnostic accuracy was 91.7% (77/84).The major complications were noted in 3 patients(1 with bleeding,2 ascites exosmosis). Conclusion CT-guided needle biopsy for retroperitoneal lesions is highly practical and useful, should be considered complementary in the investigation of abdominal lesions.

OBJECTIVE To explore the outcome of endoscopic transnasal management of inverted papilloma of nasal cavity and sinuses. METHODS The clinical data of 28 cases with inverted papillomas of nasal cavity and sinuses treated via nasal endoscope were studied retrospectively. RESULTS All of the patients were followed up from 7 months to 5 years. Only 6 cases(21%) recurred. Of the 6 cases, ethmoid and sphenoid sinuses were involved in 2 cases and maxillary sinus was involved in 4 cases. CONCLUSION Endoscopic transnasal resection of inverted papilloma is a good approach for the treatment of patients with inverted papilloma of nasal cavity and sinuses.
