Diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) and fiber tracking (FT) may show structural information about white matter fiber. With development of technology, the applications of the DTI and FT are widely used in spinal cord. DTI and FT are more sensitive than traditional MRI on detecting spinal cord lesions, able to provide more evidence for the diagnosis and differential diagnosis before treatment, as well as the evaluation for the prognosis.

Objective To explore nursing points on the enteral nutrition support to batched patients with severe burn caused by explosion. Method An enteral nutrition support was carried out for 15 patients with severe burns admitted in our department and pertinent nursing was performed. Results Five patients died because of lack of autologous skin sources and complications of sepsis in 45~87 d after burn. Ten patients got a good recovery after enteral nutrition support, anti-infection treatment and nursing. They lived through the infection period, went into the recovery period. The hospital stay of these patients in ICU was 54~115 d with an average of (90.63 ± 30.37)d. Conclusion Early enteral nutrition support and nursing to the patients with severe burn can improve the nutritional status of patients effectively and promote the rehabilitation of patients.

Objective To explore the effect of glycerol enemas used in different ways on the postoperative recovery of intestinal function.Methods Seventy-two patients after abdominal surgery were randomly divided into the control group and the experiment group:in the former group glycerol enema was injected into the anus 3~4 cm and in the latter group the enema was injected into anus 15 cm using a syringe connected to suction tube.The two groups were compared in terms of first time for anal exsufflation,time for defecation and abdominal distension.Results The first time for anal exsufflation and the time for defecation were both significantly shorter than the control group and the rate of abdominal distension was lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Injection of enema by connecting the syringe to a suction tube may be effective in promoting the recovery of intestinal function and lower the rate of abdominal distension.

Objective To study the changes of the number of circulating endothelial cells (CEC) and blood lipid level in critically ill patients and their clinical significance. Methods The CECs were separated by using isopyknic centrifugation method and blood lipid level was determined in 35 critically ill patients and 20 healthy controls. CEC number and blood lipid level were compared between the two groups. And the correlation of CEC number and blood lipid level was analyzed. Clinical data from the critically ill patients was evaluated with acute physiology and chronic health evaluation Ⅱ; the correlation analysis of APACHEⅡscore, CEC number and blood lipid level was made. Objective To observe the effects of selfmade Lifeihuayu decotion in the treatment of patients with bronchial asthma.Methods 102 patients with bronchial asthma were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group,each group had 51 cases.The patients in the control group were treated with the conven-tional treatment,while the patients in the observation group were treated with the conventional treatment plus selfmade Lifeihuayu decotion.They were treated for 8 weeks.The patients of the two groups were determined with lung function and blood gas analysis, including forced expiratory volume in one second ( FEV1 ) , forced inspiratory vital capacity ( FVC) ,peak expiratory flow( PEF) ,pH value,the partial pressure of oxygen( PaO2 ) and carbon dioxide partial pres-sure(PaCO2).Results The total effective rate were 98.0% in the observation group and 90.2% in the control group,the total efficiency of the observation group was significantly higher(χ2 =5.78,P<0.05).After treatment,the FEV1,FVC and PEF of the patient's in the two groups were significantly increased(t=5.325,4.821,2.761,all P<0.05),and compared with the control group,the FEV1,FVC and PEF of patients in the observation group improved more significantly(t=2.068,2.771,3.013,all P<0.05).After treatment,the PaO2 of the patient's in the two groups were significantly higher,which more obviously increased in the observation group than those in the control group( t=2.925,P<0.05).After treatment,the PaCO2 of the patient's in the two groups were significantly decreased,PaCO2 in the observation group significantly decreased more than that in the control group(t=3.063,P<0.05).Conclusion Selfmade Lifeihuayu decotion in the treatment of patients with bronchial asthma has curative effect,and can signifi-cantly improve lung function and blood gas analysis of patients.

To investigate weather serum soluble intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (sICAM-1) and hyaluronic acid(HA) levels can be used in assessing the disease activity of Graves' ophthalmopathy (GO).Serum levels of sICAM-1 and HA were determined in 48 cases with GO and 30 cases with Graves' disease without GO (CON).Compared with the CON group,the levels of sICAM-1 and HA in GO cases were raised significantly( P＜0.05 ).sICAM-1 and HA levels in the subgroup of patients with active GO were markedly elevated when compared to those with stable GO(P＜0.05 ).Pearson regression analysis showed that elevated levels of slCAM-1 and HA were positively correlated with the Clinical Activity Score ( CAS ) of GO ( r =0.53,P ＜ 0.01 ; r =0.46,P ＜ 0.01 ) ; A significant correlation between sICAM-1 and HA( r=0.31,P＜0.05 ) was noted.The raised serum levels of sICAM-1and HA may serve as two activity markers of GO.

Objective To compare the clinical effect of the two surgical methods of posterior pedicle screw fixation decompression in treatment of thoracolumbar burst fractures,and in order to provide the basis for choosing the rational treatment.Methods Retrospectively analyzed the clinical data of 98 patients with thoracolumbar burst fractures underwent surgery of posterior pedicle screw fixation decompression from January 2007 to January 2011.Fifty-six patients were given posterior fixed indirect decompression surgery (indirect decompression group) and 42 patients were given posterior fixed direct decompression (direct decompression group).The patients were followed up for (1.03 ± 0.36) years after surgery,the image,recovery of neurological function,postoperative complications and capacity for independent living of the two groups were compared and evaluated.Results After surgery,the vertebral height ratio,Cobb angle,canal compromise rate in indirect decompression group were (91.67 ± 26.19)％,(10.10 ± 2.89)°,(18.61 ±5.32)％,in direct decompression group were(86.23 ± 24.64)％,(11.98 ± 3.42)°,(22.37 ± 6.39)％.There was significant difference compared with before surgery (P ＜ 0.05) and no significant difference between two groups (P ＞0.05).After surgery,the neurological function of the two groups were improved,and the improvement in indirect decompression group was better than that in direct decompression group (P ＜ 0.05).The postoperative complications ratio in indirect decompression group was 23.2％ (13/56),significantly lower than that in direct decompression group[83.3％(35/42)](x2 =10.370,P＜ 0.01).There was 60.7％(34/56)patients with capacity for independent living in indirect decompression group,significantly higher than that in direct decompression group [40.5％ (17/42)] (x2 =4.329,P ＜ 0.05).Conclusion The posterior pedicle screw fixation indirect decompression in treatment of thoracolumbar burst fractures is a feasible operation method,and is worth to utilize in clinic.
