1.Elevated cerebrospinal fluid IgG index in acute cerebellitis presenting with sudden onset headache
Neurology Asia 2014;19(2):211-213
Acute cerebellitis is a rare inflammatory syndrome and is one of the important causes of acute cerebellar dysfunction in children. The cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) IgG index is most often tested clinically in the diagnosis of multiple sclerosis. However, it is not specific to multiple sclerosis, and can be elevated in a variety of neurologic diseases. A 7-year-old boy with acute cerebellitis presenting with sudden onset headache and subtle cerebellar dysfunction demonstrated an elevated CSF IgG index (1.1) and an absence of oligoclonal bands. On the seventeenth day, the follow-up CSF IgG index was 0.71. Two-month and one-year follow-up magnetic resonance imaging revealed cerebellar atrophy, although the patient showed no neurologic deficit. To the best of our knowledge, this case report is the first to describe acute cerebellitis accompanied by an elevated CSF IgG index and an absence of CSF oligoclonal IgG bands. These findings suggest that a breach in the blood-brain-barrier might occur in acute cerebellitis.

Journal of Korean Academy of Adult Nursing 1997;9(1):5-21
This study was designed to compare the outcomes between my ocardial infarction' participation and not-participation in cardiac rehabilitation, so explain how participation in cardiac rehabilitation can be a worthwhile intervention that facilitates recovery from MI. B furthermore this research is intended to provide the fundamental backgrounds in developing cardiac rehabilitation program that can help to improve the patients' the quality of life. A total of 80 out-patients were selected as subject to data collection from April 1th to May 10 1996. The rehabilitated group, consisting of the 40 out-patients had participated with the non-rehabilitation group of 40 out-patients had received usual care during hospitalization. The tools for this study were state-anxiety scale devised by Spielberger(1976) performance health behavior scale developed by Lee(1992) and quality of life scale producted by McGirr(1990). The data were analyzed by use of chi test, ANCOVA, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation and simple regression using the SPSS program. The study was concluded as follows : 1. Hypothesis 1 : that "the rehabilitation group's anxiety was lower than the non-rehabilitation group's was accepted(t=-2.60, p=0.011). 2. Hypothesis 2 : that "the rehabilitation group's level of performance health behavior was higher than the non-rehabilitation group's" was accepted(t=6.39, p=0.000). 3. Hypothesis 3 : that "the rehabilitation group's quality of life was higher than the non-rehabilitation group's was accepted(t=2.73, p=0.008). 4. The correlations between anxiety, performance health behavior and quality of life. The relationship between anxiety and performance health behavior revealed a significant correlation(r=-.4433, p<.05). And the relationship between anxiety and quality of life revealed a significant correlation(r=-.7679, p<.05), the relationship between performance health behavior and quality of life revealed a significant correlation(r=3934, p<.05). As a result, it was found that the cardiac rehabilitation groups' anxiety was lower than the non-rehabilitation group's, the rehabilitation group' level of performance health behavior was higher than the non-rehabilitation group's. And the rehabilitation group's quality of life was higher than the non-rehabilitation group's. Therefore this study explained how participation in cardiac rehabilitation can be a worthwhile intervention that facilitates recovery from MI.

3.Radiologic findings of pulmonary angiodysplasia
Journal of the Korean Radiological Society 1983;19(4):716-726
Pulmonary angiodysplasia indicates all forms of abnormal intrapulmonary arteriovenous comunication, usuallycalled pulmonary arteriovenous fistula. Most frequent form of pulmonary angiodysplasia is single or multiplediscrete nodular lesion, and diffuse telangiectatic type consists another variety. More than 50% of pulmonaryangiodysplasias are associated with hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia. And rearely chronic liver disease iscomplicated by pulmonary arteriovenous fistula which is called hepatogenic pulmonary angiodysplasia. Weexperienced 6 cases of pulmonary angiodysplasia confirmed by cardiac catheterization and angiography from 1977 to1983. 5 cases were children below 11 years of age exhibiting cyanosis except one who has pulmonary angiodysplasiasupplied by systemic arteries. 3 were hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia and one was hepatogenic pulmonaryangiodysplasia. Discrete nodular pulmonary lesion was present in 3 cases while remaining 3 cases were diffusetelangiectatic type. The clinical and radiological findings of pulmonary angiocysplasia is described with a briefreview of literature.

Korean Journal of Rehabilitation Nursing 2000;3(2):127-140
The purpose of this study is to identify the effect of sexual rehabilitation education on the knowledge and adjustment of sexual of spinal cord injury clients by the method of nonequivalant control group pretest-posttest group. The data were collected from Jan. 19 through Feb. 16. 2000. The experimental group was 26 spinal cord injury client from one rehabilitation center, and the control group was 26 spinal cord injury client from two rehabilitation center. Sexual rehabilitation education was done with manuals, videotapes and chart. Education time was 120 minutes a week for 2 weeks. The study tool was about Sexual Knowledge, designed Song, Chung Sook(1990) and SIAC (Sexual. Interest, Activity, & Satisfaction) designed Kruter, Sullivan, Siosteen(l994) translated by Kang, Hyun Sook, Koh, Jung Eun, Suh, Yeon Ok, Yee, Oon Hee(1999). The collected data were analyzed SPSS program. The Data were analyzed descriptive statistics and chi test, Pearson's Correlation Coefficient, t-test, F-test(ANOVA). Duncan's multiple comparison test. The result were as follows. 1. The first hypothesis was accepted: The group educated about sexual rehabilitation has more sexual knowledge than those of the uneducated group(t=7.412, p= .001). 2. The second hypothesis was accepted: The group educated about the sexual rehabilitation has more adjustment of sexual than those of the uneducated group(t=5.524, p= .001). 3. The third hypothesis was accepted: The higher sexual knowledge state, the higher sexual adjustment(r=.449, p= .003). According to results, sexual rehabilitation education helps Spinal cord Injury Clients to gain knowledge and adjustment of sexual.

Journal of the Korean Radiological Society 1981;17(1):134-141
In 101 jaundiced patients, gray scale ultrasonography of longitudinal scan in RAO position demonstrated themeasurable extrahepatic biliary system in 73 patient; 17 cases (50%) of those with nonobstructive jaundice and 56cases (84%) of those with obstructive jaundice. The size of the internal diameter of extrahepatic biliary systemindicated that obstructive jaundice was best differentiated from non-obstructive jaundice when diameter above 7mm served as abnormal extrahepatic duct in jaundiced patients, giving sensitivity 85.5% specificity 97% anddiagnostic accuracy 89.5% by decision matrix analysis. The overall etiological diagnostic accuracy in obstructivejaundice was 40% which had higher one in choledocholithiasis and pancreas head carcinoma than other diseases. Thesonography should be imaging procedure of choice in differential diagnosis of jaundiced patients, which is simple, safe, noninvasive and has high diagnostic accuracy in differentiation between the two.

Journal of the Korean Radiological Society 1984;20(3):553-562
Congenial mitral stenosis may be defined as a develpment abnormality of the mitral valve leaflets, commissures, interchordal spaces, papillary muscle,s annulus or immediate supravalvular area producing obstructionto left ventricular filling. Authors had experience of nine cases of congenital mitral stenosis confirmed by twodimenstional echocardiography, angiocardiography and surgery in recent 5 years since 1979, and analyzed them withemphasis on the angiographic findings. The results are as follows; 1. Among 9 cases, 6 patients were male and 3 were female. Age distribution was from 4 months to 11 years. 2. The types of congenital mitral stenosis were 1typical congenital mitral stenosis, 5 cases of parachute mitral valve and 3 cases of supramitral ring. 3. Angiographically typical congenital mitral stenosis showed narrowing of mitral valvular opening, parachute mitralvalve displayed single large papillary muscle with narrowed valvular opening and supramitral ring disclosedsemilunar shaped filling defect between left atrium and ventricle. 4. Associated cardiac and extracardiacanomalies of congenital mitral stenosis, as frequency wise, were ventricular septal defect, patent ductusarteriosus, coarctation of aorta, supra and subvalvular aortic stenosis, mitral regurgitation and double outletright ventricle. 5. Cardiac angiography is essential to diagnose congenital mitral stenosis, but the need of two dimensional echocardiography cannot be ignored.

9.Immunohistochemical Study of E-cadherin Expression in Gastric Adenocarcinomas.
Jee Yeon KIM ; Mee Young SOL ; Sun Kyung LEE
Korean Journal of Pathology 1997;31(8):745-753
E-cadherin (ECD) is a Ca++ -dependent adhesion molecule which plays a major role in the maintenance of intercellular adhesion in epithelial tissues. The expression pattern of ECD in 77 surgically resected gastric adenocarcinomas was examined by immunohistochemistry, using a rat monoclonal antibody raised against murine E-cadherin (DECAM-1). ECD was strongly expressed uniformly at cell to cell borders in normal gastric epithelium without exception. But, various staining patterns were observed in the cancer tissues. The frequency of tumors with preserved ECD expression (Pre-type) and reduced ECD expression (Rd-type) was 44% and 56%, respectively. Using Lauren's classification, the high frequency of the Pre-type expression in adenocarcinoma of the intestinal type was significantly higher than that in adenocarcinoma of the diffuse type (p<0.05). But, no significant correlation between the ECD expression and the gross type, invasion depth, growth pattern or metastasis was observed. These results suggest that ECD might play a key role in the morphogenesis of gastric adenocarcinoma.

10.Chronic intestinal pseudoobstruction syndrome.
Kyung Mo YEON ; Jeong Kee SEO ; Yong Seok LEE
Journal of the Korean Radiological Society 1992;28(2):287-292
Chronic intestional pseudoobstruction syndrome is a rare clinical condition in which impaired intestinal peristalsis. Causes recurrent symptoms of bowel obstruction in the absence of a mechanical occlusion. This syndrome may involve variable segments of small or large bowel. And may be associated with urinary bladder retention. This study included 6 children(3 boys and 3 girls) of chronic intestinal obstruction. Four were symptomatic at birth and two were of the ages of one month and one year. All had abdominal distention and defication difficulty. Five had urinary bladder distention. Despite parenteral nutrition and surgical intervention(ileostomy or colostomy), bowel obstruction persisted and four patients expired from sepsis within one year. All had gaseous distention of small and large bowel on abdominal films. In small bowel series. Consistent findings were variable degree of dilatation. Decreased peristalsis(prolonged transit time) and microcolon or microrectum. This disease entity must be differentiated from congenital megacolon, ileal atresia and megacystis syndrome.
