Korean Journal of Dermatology 1979;17(2):123-129
A clinica1 study was carried ou on the 98 cases of purpura who were admitted to the Han Gang Sung Shim Hospital during the period of 3 years from Sept., 1975 to Aug., 1978. The results were as follows: 1. The most common cause of purpura was allergic purpura (35.7%). 2. The highest incidence was under 10 years of age group(63.3%), and males were more frequently affected tban fomal with the ratio of 1.3: l. 3. The saonal incidence of purpura was high during the period of 5 months fror Jan. to Klay. Especially in the allergic purpura high incidence was seen in April, May and October. 4. The preclilection site of purpura was on the lower extremities (87.5%) Especially in allergic purpura, the purpura lesions were occured on the lower extremities in all cases. 5, Platelet count in allergic purpura was normal, and that of L.T.P., leukemia, menigococcemia, aplastic anemia and sepsis was decreased in mostly all cases. 6. Bleeding; time was normal in allergic purpura, hut prolonged in ahout 50% of otber diseases. Coagulation time was normal in all cases. 7. Occuit blood was positive in 40% of all cases. 8. Renal rnan!festations occured in 37 cases(37.8%). The most common among them was proteinuria(89.2%)

Journal of the Korean Dietetic Association 1998;4(2):132-144
The purpose of this study is setting proper portion by consumed size of food and food preference and then reducing plate wasts in school lunch. The survey was conducted from Oct. 21 to Nov. 22, 1996 through the practical measurement and questionnaires. The subjects were 43 students of 1 elementary school. The results of this survey was as follows : 1. Average consumption size of cooked rice was 115g. Average consumption size of one course dishes was 209g. The soup & pot stewes showed lower consumption rate than the other kind of foods. Average consumption size of fresh & boiled salad was 23.4g Average consumption size of stir fries was 55g. Average consumption size of steams & stewes was 42g. Most grill & fried foods showed high consumption rate compared to most of the other foods. Average consumption size of kimchies was 10.6g. The most of given desserts except apple were all consumed. 2. There was significant correlation between food preference and consumption rate for total food items. 3. Response of satisfaction about serving size of most of given foods except fresh & boiled salads, soup & pot stewes and kimchies were "moderate". 4. Visual estimation was greater than physicl estimation for most of given foods. Proper portion of fooods per person by results were setted as follows : ...

Journal of the Korean Dietetic Association 1998;4(2):123-131
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the preference trend of frequently served meals in the elementary school lunch program. Therefore, this evaluation was surveyed on frequently served meals in the elementary school lunch program in Inchon. Also, this study was surveyed on food preference using questionnaire including frequently served food items. Statistical analysis of data was completed using SAS program. The results of this survey was as follows: 1. Freqrenctly served fooods were 56 food items including 5 boiled rice, 3 one course dishes, 10 soup & pot stewes, 10 fresh & boiled salads, 8 stirred fries, 7 stewes, 6 grill & fries, 3 kimchies and 4 desserts. 2. Students liked barley bab more than the other kinds of cooked rice. One course dishes were preferred most by the subjects. Among soup & pot stewes, fermented soybean paste stew showed lower preference than the other kind of stewes. Among fresh & boiled salads, fruits salad was the most favore, whereas, root of bellflower salad was the most hated. Among side-dishes by different preparation method, stir fries, stewes, grill & fries, kimchies, dessert were prefered most by the subjects. There were significant difference between male and female students for most given foods except soup & pot stewes. Female students showed higher preference for most given foods except fresh & boiled salads, kimchies, dessert than male students.

4.A Cytogenetic Survey of the Mentally Retarded Children.
Korean Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology 2000;43(1):11-16
OBJECTIVE: A cytogenetic survey of the mentally retarded children in Seoul City Welfare Center for the Mentally Retarded and St Peter school has been undertaken. METHODS: The chromosome analysis was carried out in 92 males and in 66 females as a total of 158 cases. RESULTS: Abnormal karyotypes were observed in 22.2% of the total cases (35/158). Autosome and sex chromosome anomaly were observed in 20.3%(32/158) and 1.9%(3/158) respectively. Of 35 cases of anomaly, 91.4%(32/35) was autosome anomaly and 8.6%(3/35), sex chromosome anomaly. CONCLUSION: Down syndrome karyotype was the most frequent anomaly among autosome anomalies which was 62.5%(20/32) and other autosome anomalies were observed in 37.5%(12/32).

Yeungnam University Journal of Medicine 1989;6(1):185-195
Paroxysmal Nocturnal Hemoglobinuria (PNH) is an uncommon hematologic disease characterized by an abnormal sensitivity of blood cells to the lytic action of serum complement. We experienced one case of PNH in Yeungnam University Hospital from May 1983 to May 1989. The patients was followed up without severe complications of 4 years since diagnosis with the only conservative treatments such as washed blood transfusion, adrenal corticosteroids, androgens, folate and iron preparation, intermittently.

Annals of Dermatology 1998;10(1):61-63
Cutaneous larva migrans(CLM) is a ubiquitous self-limiting skin eruption which has intensely pruritic, serpiginous, raised, sharply demarcated, red lesions. It is most frequently caused by larvae of dog and cat hookworms. We report two typical cases of cutaneous larva migrans that appeared as pruritic exanthems in two people after they had travelled in Southeast Asia. It is suggested one should consider cutaneous larva migrans in the differential diagnoses of erythematous pruritic lesions.

Hemangiopericytoma is a rather uncommon neoplasm composed mainly of cells derived from the vascular pericytes of Zimmermann, which are normally found in close apposition to the endothelial cells of capillaries and postcapillary venules. Authors studied a case in which primary hemangiopericytoma located in the left orbit of a 54-year-old woman. Review of the literatures about incidence, clinical symptoms, histological features and biological behavior of the orbital hemangiopericytoma was presented.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1993;31(4):495-501
BACKGROUND: Despite the widespread use of liquid nitrogen cryoth.rapy on warts, little is known about its therapeutic effects. OBJECTIVE: This study was conducted to evaluate the therapeutic effect of liqiud nitrogen cryotherapy on warts. MEHTODS: One-hundred and fifteen patients with 142 cases of vira warts were studied. The cryosurgery set we used was CS-76 table-top liquid nitrogen spray unit and it was applied directly on the lesion, the freezing front extending 2 to 4mm onto the uninviblvid skin. RESULT: There was an overall cure rate of 69.7% and the averager umber of freezings required for a cure was 2.6 amongst all patients cured by 5 or less freezings at ntervals of 2 or 3 weeks. CONCLUSION: The liquid nitrogen cryotherapy on warts results in a relatively high cure rate with safety, simplicity, rapid healirig, continustion of normal function and a tivities, and restoration of normal appearance.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1981;19(2):175-181
In order to evaluate the effect of zinc sulfate on acne vulgaris, this study was performed during 3 months' period from October, 1979 to December 31, 1979. Total number of acne patients visited at the Department of Dermatology, Han Gang Sung Shim Hospital were 130, but among them 58 patients had completed this atudy. The patients were classified in 3 groups, A, B, C, as follows. Group A (23 patients) who were treated with zinc sulfate (600mg/day) and 2. 5% benzoyl peroxide Group B (20 patients) who were treated with tetracycline (initial: 750mg/day, after 2weeks: 500rng/day) and 2. 5% benzoyl peroxide. Group C (15 patients) who were treated with only 2. 5% benzoyl peroxide. To evaluate the efficacy of treatment in these 3 groups, the number of open comedone, closed comedone, papule and pustule were counted every other week for 8 weeks. (countiuned..)
