Journal of the Korean Radiological Society 1983;19(4):865-872
The radiological findings of various cervical spine fractures were analized on the basis of J.Harrisclassification. It appears to be important for the radiologist to be familiar with radiographic findings ofcervical spine fractures, particularly those of unstable fractures which can result in serious medical problems ifimproperly handled in the department of radiology. 68 cases of cervial spine fracures were analized. The resultsare as follows; 1. Stable and unstable fracures were about equal in incedence. 2. Anterior subluxation accountsfor 43.4% of stable fractures, 19% of all fractures. 3. Bilateral interfacetal dislocation accounts for 51.1% ofunstable fractures, 255 of all fractures. 4. Associated fracture were involved in skull, scapula, mandible andfemur. 5. About 80% of the patients is in third through fifth decade.

Journal of the Korean Radiological Society 1984;20(3):665-671
We have analyzed utrasonographic finding of 55 cases of hydronephrosis and 34 cases of renal maasses. The results are as follows; 1. 55 cases of hydronephrosis revealed renal enlargement in 55 cases, separation of central echo complex in 27 cases, multiple anechoic areas radiating from the center in 25 cases and dilated renalpelvis in 24 cases. 2. Among the renal masses in 34 cases, simple renal cyst were 15 cases, polycystic kidney in 8 cases, hypernephroma in 8 cases, Wilms' tmor in 2 cases and angiomyolipoma in 1 case. 3. Simple renal cystrevealed single in 14 cases (93%) and well defined anechoic mass with posterior enhancement in all cases. 4. Polycystic kidney revealed bilateral irregular shaped renal enlargement and multiple anechoic cysts throughout the kidney. 2 cases (25%) involved liver. 5. 6 cases (75%) of hypernephroma revealed ill defined modarately echogenicmass without posterior enhancement. 6. All cases of Wilms' tumor revealed well defined large mixed echogenic massin right kidney. 7. Angiomyolipoma revealed bilateral dense echogenic mass with large hemorrhagic cyst in rightkidney. 8. The ultrasonography is useful noninvasive diagnostic modality of evaluation of renal masses and hydronephrosis.

PURPOSE: Doppler findings of pulmonary venous flow in large atrial septal defect(ASD) has been known to show a contiguous form rather than showing a form with two peaks in a cardiac cycle. The aim of this study was to find out the affecting variables in flow pattern change. METHODS: The present study was conducted on 16 isolated secondum ASD infants with defect diameters greater than 3 mm(L group), 10 infants with a defect diameter less than 3 mm(S group) and 11 infants with no structural abnormal findings(N group), among infants who visited the Pediatric Department of Soonchunhyang University Hospital and underwent a echocardiographic examination from April 2001 through June 2003. The echocardiographic examination included the midflow ratio of the pulmonary vein, calculated by division(numerator:the minimum velocity between S & D velocities, denominator: the mean value of S & D velocities). RESULTS: The mean ages of these three groups(L group, S group and N group) were 0.35+/-0.34 years, 0.22+/-0.22 years and 0.45+/-0.27 years, respectively. The midflow ratios were 0.76+/-0.20, 0.54 +/-0.11, 0.53+/-0.11 in groups, and significant difference between L group and the other two groups (P=0.002). The only affecting variable to midflow ratio is the defect area. And there is a significant causal relationship between them(P=0.003). CONCLUSION: The fact that Doppler findings of the pulmonary venous flow in a large sized atrial septal defect show a contiguous form is thought to be due to the unique hemodynamic characteristics of the ASD. The results of this study showed that such altered pattern ascertained as the defect size became larger.
