Paragonimiasis is prevalent in Far East and a kind of endemic Korean disases. The primary site of humanparagonimiasis is the lung, but hte ectopic infection of lung fluke has been reported by many authors. Weexperienced one case of abdominal paragonimiasis in a 44 year old male with a complaint of left lowerquadrantpain. Physical examination, barium enema, and other data suggested the possibility of tumor originating from thewall of descending colon. (intramural tumor). Postoperative specimen taken from the solid tumorous lesion showedparasitic granuloma, characteristic of Paragonimus Westermani. Here, we report a case of very peculiar ectopicparagonimaisis involved descending colon wall simulating neoplastic tumor, and also review the literaturesbriefly.

The thirty-two patients of Parkinson's disease had been followed up at the Department of Neurology, Hanyang University Hospital from 1982 to 1985. The following results were obtained: 1. The age distributions at onset of illness are that the 6th decade in 41%, the 7th decade 35% in male and each of the 6th decade and 5th decade is 35% in female. 2. The mean of the duration of illness is 4.5 years and the mean duration of follow-up is 2.1 years. 3. The causes of Parkinson's diseases are idiopathic 44%, carbonmonoxide intoxication 31%, drugs 6%, and vascular disease 3% in sequence. 4. The common initial symptoms are slowness of movement 31%, tremor 31%, and rigidity 22%. 5. The slowness of movement and tremor are major observable symptoms in idiopathic origin and rigidity in carbomonoxide intoxication one. 6. The overall improvement rate on drug treatment is 75%. Various types of response fluctuation has been observed in 4 patients after 5-10 years of treatment.

Thanatophoric dysplasia is the most common lethal congenital chondrodysplasia with characteristic features of narrow thorax, short rib, severe platyspondyly, short bowed limbs and skull deformity, etc. It is not a hereditary disorder and there is usually no family history of dysplasia. We experienced a case of thanatophoric dysplasia at 38 weeks of gestation with antenatal sonographic and abdominal radiographic findings of small thorax, short bowed extremities with surrounding thickened soft tissues and marked platyspondyly. Soon atter delivery, the baby died and post-mortem radiographs showed the characteristic findings of thanatophoric dysplasia.

Male Breast cancer is an uncommon disease with an incidence of I per cent of all breast cancers. Male breast cancer usually appears as a small mass with well-defined contour which is eccentrically located in relation to the nipple on mammogram. We report a case of breast cancer in a 51-year-old man with mammographic appearance of large hyperdense mass with nipple inversion and axillary lymphadenopathy, gray-scale sonographic finding of homogeneous solid mass and mu Itiple tumor vessels with in the mass on color Doppler ultrasound.

Korean Journal of Women Health Nursing 2003;9(4):390-399
PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between eating disorders, and self esteem in female college students. METHOD: The survey was carried out on convenience sample of 388 college female students. The questionnaire consisted of each scale for eating disorder, self-esteem. The data was analyzed by the SPSS/PC using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, ANOVA, and Spearman correlation coefficient. RESULT: More than 43% of the subjects perceived their weight as overweight, while 1.5% of the women were obese as defined by BMI. About 57.4% of subjects were not satisfied with their body shape. Frequency of eating disorder was 5.93%. The score of eating disorder was high when the subjects had negative perception and low satisfaction with their body shape. The high scores of self-esteem were shown among the group who had high satisfaction on body shape. There was negative correlation between eating disorder and self-esteem(r=-.194, p=.000). CONCLUSION: This study suggests that the nursing intervention was necessary for female college students to recognize healthier eating habits and increased their self-esteem.

Journal of the Korean Neurological Association 1985;3(2):164-174
Clincal studies were made on 166 cases of spontaneous subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH), were admitted to the keimyung university Dongsan hospital from January 1981 to March 1984. The age and sex distribution, causes of SAH, clinical symptoms and signs, computed tomographic (CT) findings, aneurysmal site, number and size, comparison between the highest density on CT findings and site of aneurysm confirmed by angiography, relationship between CT class and clinical grade, complication, and relationship between hospital course and clinical grade on admission were analysed. The results summarized as follow. 1. The most prevalent age group was between 41-60 years of age, and above 61 years, 31-40 years and below 30 years of age in the order of frequency. Male to female ratio was 43.4 : 56.6. 2. The most common causes of 100 cases of SAH confirmed by cerebral angiography was cerebral aneurysm (75 cases), and the other causes were unknown cause (16 cases), arteriovenous malformation (6 cases), moyamoya disease (3 cases) in the order of frequency. 3. The clinical symptoms on admission in the order of frequency were headache, nausea and vomiting, brief loss of consciousness, dizziness, seizure, and urinary incontinence. The neurological findings showed stiffneck, hemiparesis, cranial nerve palsies, papilledema and/or hemorrhage on the fundus, and Babinski sign in that order. 4. CT findings (158 cases) revealed typical high densities consistent with SAH in 125 cases (79.1%), associated with the low density (13 cases), and visible cerebral aneurysm (5 cases), while negative findings were 33 cases (20.9%). 5. The most common site of aneurysm among the 75 cases of SAH confirmed by the cerebral angiography was the region of the anterior communicating artery (AcomeA) which accounted for 30 cases (35.3%), and posterior communicating artery (PcomeA) and middle cerebral artery (MCA) 23 cases (27%), respectively, the internal carotid artery 5 cases (5.9%), the anterior ecrebral artery (ACA) 2 cases (2.4%), the posterior inferior cerebellar artery and basilar artery 1 cases (1.2%), respectively in the order of frequency. Among the 75 cases of cerebral aneurysms, single aneurysms were 67 cases (89.3%) and multiple aneurysms were 8 cases (10.7%). The most common size of the aneurysms was 6-10 mm (47 cases), and below 5 mm (30 cases), and above 10 mm (8 cases) in the order of frequency. 6. Sixteen out of 27 cases of AcomA aneurysms present the highest density on CT scan in the anterior hemispheric fissure, 9 out of 22 cases of PcomA aneurysms in syulvian fissure and 6 cases in suprasellar cistern, and all cases of MCA aneurysm (21 cases) in the ipsilateral aneurysmal site. 7. Comparison between CT grade by Davis (1980) and clinical grade by Hunt-Hesse (1968) revealed that the 93 of 94 patients (pts) with CT class 1 or 2 belong to under clinical grade 3, the 17 of 64 pts with CT class 3 or 4 belong to clinical grade IV or V, and the 17 of 18 pts with clinical grade IV or V belong to CT class 3 or 4. 8. The most common complication was the hydrocephalus (30.1%), and cerebral arterial spasm (24.1%), SIADH (8.4%), and rebleeding confirmed by lumbar puncture and/or CT (4.2%), in the order of frequency. 9. One hundred and four pts (62.7%) out of total 166 patient with SAH were improved, whereas 39 pts (23.5%) were not improved or signed out without clinical improvement, and 23 pts (13.8%) were died. The 81 (77.9%) of 104 pts who were improved belong to clinical grade I or II on admission, the 18 (78.3%) of 23 pts who were expired belong to clinical grade III or IV, and the 19 (48.7%) of 39 pts who were signed out without improvement belong to clinical grade III to V.

Korean Journal of Nephrology 1998;17(6):911-918
Carbamylated hemoglobin (CarHb) is formed by the reaction of hemoglobin with cyanate derived from the spontaneous dissociation of in vivo urea. Previous studies have shown that formation of CarHb depends upon both the severity and the duration of renal failure. To study the clinical significances of CarHb in Korean patients with chronic renal failure, we measured CarHb levels by high-performance liquid chromatography in 159 CRF patients and 46 normal controls. Patients with CRF had a higher CarHb concentration than normal controls (107.9+/-58.8 vs 35.1+/-14.2 microgramVH/gHb; P<0.001). In patients with CRF, nondialysis group had a higher value than dialysis group (129.8+/-77.9 vs 98.7+/-46.1 microgramVH/gHb; P<0.05). There were no siginificant difference in CarHb levels between hemodialysis (92.0+/-35.8microgramVH/gHb) and peritoneal dialysis (106.7+/-55.3microgramVH/gHb) groups. CarHb levels were not different between diabetic and nondiabetic patients in predialysis and hemodialysis groups. Although there was a significant difference in peritoneal dialysis group, the BUN levels were also lower in diabetic patients than nondiabetic patients. There were no correlation between CarHb and HbA1c percentage in patients with diabetes. CarHb levels were positively correlated with BUN (r=0.489; P<0.001) and creatinine (r=0.458; P<0.01) concentrations. There were negative correlations between CarHb and both Kt/V (r=-0.358; P<0.05) and URR (r=-0.415; P<0.05) in hemodialysis patients. In conclusion, CarHb may be a useful index of uremic control in patients with chronic renal failure, and are independent of the mode of dialysis and the presence of diabetes.
