The study was designed to identify the attitude of nursing students to fundamental nursing practice through Q-methodology. A Q sample was developed through a review of the literature and interviews. Forty statements made up the finalized Q-sample. The P sample consisted of 25 nursing students in S College. Q statements were written on separate cards and were given to the 25 subjects to sort according to degree of agreement or disagreement. The Q-sort by each subject was coded and analyzed with QUANL PC Program. The analysis discovered three major attitudes, namely "type 1: passive demand", "type 2: active self-confidence", "type 3: practical application". The correlation was .213 between type 1 and 2, .409 between type 1 and 3, .379 between t ype 2 and 3. The results revealed three different types of fundamental nursing practice attitude; 1) Passive demand type: they were not satisfied with fundamental nursing practice time, the number of persons, practice machines. They presented anxiety and worry through fundamental nursing practice. Therefore, they will presenta passive attitude of clinical practice experience. 2) Active self-confidence type: they experienced pride as a nursing student and fascination as a nurse was an acquired recognition. 3) Practical application type: they practiced that fundamental nursing skill was applied their family and oneself. Therefore they had tension through initial fundamental nursing practice but they gained self-confidence and interest through practical study. In conclusion, the researchers suggest that the education program would be more effective if it was planned considering to each types of attitude of nursing students for fundamental nursing practice.

4.Sexuality of Unmarried Males with a Spinal Cord Injury.
Journal of Korean Academy of Fundamental Nursing 2001;8(2):119-131
The purpose of this study was done to explore and to describe, from a phenomenological perspective, the sexual experience of unmarried males with a spinal cord injury. The methodology used in this study was the phenomenological method. Researcher conducted individual in-depth interviews with persons who had a Spinal Cord Injury. Six males were invited to participate in the study. The data were gathered from November 1999 to August 2000. The finding which emerged from this phenomenological study are as follow; "Confusion state in shocking situation", "Reflection on past sexual experience", "Irresistible impulsive sexual desire", "Psychological conflict caused by suppression of sexual appetite", "Groping for a solution to sexual desire", "Recognition of changed sexual function" and "Confirmation of changed self". The conclusion of this study are as follow; The sexuality mankind owns is the criteria of original and common difference in the society of mankind through the categorization of male and female into dichotomy. In fact, the mankind as an social animal is the existence by the sexuality, for the sexuality and of the sexuality. The sexuality has the meaning only within the relationship with the others. The sexuality has the meaning only in the inter-relationship and the sexuality itself in it is already the sexual relationship. Therefore, for the better life of the participants with the spinal cord injury, further understanding of the sexuality of the unmarried male with spinal cord injury is required.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1996;34(6):998-1002
Linear psoriasis is a rare form of psoriasis and is characterized by the linear distribution of the psoriatic lesions. It should be differentiated clinically and histopathologically from inflammatory linear verrucous epidermal nevus(ILVEN) or psoriasis occuring as part of the Koebner phenomenon. A 41-year-old female is described, who had developed linearly arranged psoriatic lesions in the right lower extremity over the last 10 years. Not only pathological and immunohistochemical studies but also the clinical response to therapies reveal that this is the first case of linear psoriasis in Korea.

PURPOSE: The purpose of study is to develop a home nursing care project model suitable for Korea's heath care system and policy directions for expansion and establishment of home nursing care. METHOD: The first, status of home nursing care program in medical institution and public health center was evaluated respectively in view of structure, process and performance. And then, issues of the program were analyzed in view of accessibility, safety, and sufficient supply. The second, demand projection of home nursing care according to income level and technical level of service that is needed to the subject was tried. In addition, the level of supply for home nursing care at present was estimated. The third, home nursing care program in advanced countries (Japan and U.S.A.) was examined. RESULT AND CONCLUSION: Community-based home nursing care program is developed into public-operation model and private-operation model from above the sub-subject result. Functional network for referral system among related institutions is built up to meet various needs, regardless of accessibility to distance and economy. And prior settlements and policy directions for expansion and establishment of home nursing care are suggested.

For producing large numbers of professional nurses who could manage 21th century's human health, it is necessary to review the direction of registered nursed' national examination which evaluates the nursing education and is granted a licence. For adapting to social expectation of the nurse, we have to nurture the nurses' problem solving capability in clinical setting. Seven divisions of Korean Academy of Nursing suggested clinical competency according to their categories. This paper was presented in the workshop for setting up direction of registered nurses' national examination. We expect that this paper would be more refine and confirm through reviewing subdivisions' learning objectives and discussing clinical minimum level of competence contents with clinical leaders.

Journal of Korean Orthopaedic Research Society 2003;6(2):170-176
PURPOSE: To investigate the expression of Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF) in diabetic frozen shoulders. MATERIALS AND METHODS: We preformed arthroscopic adhesiolysis on 9 diabetic frozen shoulder patients, and observed the arthroscopic findings. Also, we examined the potential role of VEGF by using samples of synovial tissues from 5 patients, and 2 normal synovial tissues. Immunohistochemical staining and Western blotting were performed using polyclonal antibodies against VEGF. RESULTS: There was hyperemic synovitis in the 9 diabetic frozen shoulder patients. In the 5 patients' tissue samples, there was strong immunostaining and expression to VEGF, but there was little staining and expression in the control group. CONCLUSION: We postulate that VEGF is synthesized and secreted in the synovium of diabetic frozen shoulders and that secreted VEGF binds specific receptors on the endothelial cells of nearby small blood vessels, and leads to the subsequent development of frozen shoulders in diabetic patients.

Tetrasomy for the short arm of chromosome 12 (Pallister-Killian syndrome) is an uncommon mosaic aneuploidy, which may present in the prenatal period with an ultrasonographically detected fetal abnormalities or following karyotyping for maternal age and other causes. In this syndrome the chromosome abnormalities, isochromosome is present in amniocyte with a much greater percentage than fetal lymphocyte. The most consistent reported prenatal ultrasound findings for tetrasomy 12p include polyhydramnios with short femurs and a diaphragmatic hernia. We report a case identified by prenatal karyotyping diagnosis.
