Journal of the Korean Neurological Association 1984;2(1):71-72
Reading epilepsy, a form of reflex epilepsy or sensory precipitated epilesy, is known as the most frequent type of language induced epilepsy. Since Bickford presented 6 cases of reading epilepsy for the first time, about 50 cases of primary reading epilepsy have been reported. We present a case of primary reading epilepsy which is confirmed by clinical features and EEG, with a brief review of literature.

Journal of the Korean Radiological Society 2001;44(2):257-261
PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the CT findings of acute pyelonephritis (APN) in children and to assess the correlation between these findings, clinical parameters and renal scar development, as seen on follow-up CT scans. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Contrast-enhanced CT scans of thirty children in whom APN had been diagnosed were assigned to one of three groups according to whether an abscess had formed, and then to subgroups on the basis of the number of lesions in the renal parenchyme. Initial CT findings were retrospectively correlated with five clinical parameters (maximal body temperature, fever duration, leukocytosis, pyuria and admission period) and renal scar development, as seen on follow-up CT (n=12). RESULTS: CT scans demonstrated linear, wedge-shaped, low-density renal parenchymal lesions in 35 kidneys of 25 patients and abscesses in seven kidneys of seven patients, but no abnormal lesions in five patients. In the three groups there was correlation between these findings and some clinical parameters (maximal body temperature, fever duration and admission period), but no subgroup showed significant correlation with any clini-cal parameter. Renal cortical scars detected by follow-up CT were more prevalent in patients in whom initial CT demonstrated the presence of an abscess. CONCLUSION: Clinical parameters correlated with the presence of renal parenchymal hypoenhancing lesions and abscess formation, as seen on CT scans, rather than the number of renal parenchymal lesions. Renal cortical scars were more prevalent in patients in whom initial CT revealed the presence of an abscess. Enhanced CT is thought to be useful both for diagnosing APN and for predicting its clinical course in children.

Journal of the Korean Ophthalmological Society 1979;20(1):89-93
The subconjuctival sparganosis is rare tissue helminthiasis which develops frequently in. orbital, abdominal, urethral, ureteral and vertebral cases. Authors reported a case of sparganosis which complained conjuntival hyperemia, chemosis, subconjuntival mass in the right eye for 10 months. The patient was a 37 years old male who had a history of having eaten raw snake in the So-Re Gun. Gyeonggi Do for the purpose of tonics 3 years ago. In the winter of 1977, he had experienced edematous changes in the right cheek intermittently. A few months later, he noticed the apperence of the congestion and a mass on the right eye. On surgical exploration, one larvae (5.8 cm in length and 5 m min width) was extracted from the right upper temporal subconjunctiva. It was actively motile in the bottle filled with saline, so this larvae was consulted to parasitology department of Korea University from our clinic under the impression of subconjunctival sparganosis. The sources of infection of some formely reported sparganosis in Korea were discussed. It is most probable that human sparganosis is acquired by consuming of raw snakes and frogs in this country.

7.Knowledge of Insurance Claim for ERCP Beginner
Korean Journal of Pancreas and Biliary Tract 2021;26(2):85-88
In performing endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), doctors should know the details of insurance claims. The fee of ERCP will be charged separately by the treatment fee and the material costs, and should be charged according to the insurance claims to avoid any disadvantages later. Insurance claims for ERCP are often changed, so doctors have to notice the changes and apply them. During the procedure, it is important to properly record the photograph as a basis, and to keep a good description of the procedure and materials used on the reading sheet. After the procedure, it is necessary to double check the prescription and verify that the insurance claim has been properly filed.
