We report a case of morphea profunda in a 21-year-old male who had diffuse brown sclerotic plaques on his extremities. Laboratory findings showed peripheral eosinophilia and an increased titers for anti-DNA and anti-nuclear antibodies. Histopathologic findings showed diffuse fibrosis and a thickening of the lower dermis and subcutaneous tissue. He has been treated with hydroxychloroquine 400mg per day and the sclerosis of the skin improved.

Cutis marmorata telangiectatica congenita, which was first described by Van Lehuizen in 1922, is characterized by the presence at birth of a persistent cut;is marmorata pattern, phlebectasia, spider nevus-like telangiectasia, and areas of ulceration and steady improvernent with time. We reported a case of cutis mar.morata telangiectatica. congenita occuring in a 70 days old female infant showing the reticulated mottling and atrophy of the skin on the both lower extremites, right upper extremity, abdomen and buttock muscle weakening of right upper extremity and left lower extremity compare with the opposite side. Skin lesions were much improved during the observation period of 10 months without any other specific treatment except hermiatrophy of right upper extremity.

A 56-year- old man showed millet seed to egg sized, yellowish tender papules, subcutaneous mass on the both elbows, dorsa of both hands & feet, and lateral malleoli and helix of right ear for 6 years. the significant laboratory findings were leukocytosis, increased erythrocyte sedimentation rate, glycosuria, hyperuricemia and increased blood glucose level. X-ray findings of both hands & feet demonstrated gouty arthritic patterns. Histopathologic findings of the left lateral malleolar lesion revealed the typical patterns. Histopathologic findings of the left lateral malleolar lesion revealed the typical pattern of gout with needle-shaped urate crystal. Therapy was begun with colchicine & allopurinol but the patient died of renal failure three weeks after the start of therapy.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1982;20(6):845-851
The effect of 50 per cent potassium iodide (KI) ointment with occlusive dressing on onychomycosis of the fingers and toes was studiei in 54 patients with 176 diseased nails. The results obtained were as follows. 1. Of a total of 76 fingernails and 100 toenails in 54 patients, all fingernails and toenails showed an excellent response with easy removal of the diseased nails. 2. The duration that the occluded KI aintment remained in place before successful avulsion was 6. 6 (range, 3 to 18) days for fingernails, and 6. 8 (range, 3 to 20) days for toenails with onychomycosis. 8. Of 16 nails of control group which were treated with vaseline, none showed the significant improvement. 4. The problems during this treatment were; mild irritation and/or itching (9 cases), and pin-point bleeding on curettage of nail bed (18 cases). It is suggested that the KI treatment has many advantages and seemed to be an ideal method of treatment of onychomycosis.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1983;21(4):409-413
The idiopathic calcinosis of the scrotum which was first described by Shapiro et al. in 1970 is usually multiple, asymptomatic nodules of the scrotal skin and is easily misdiagnosed clinically as calcified epidermal inclusion cyst or pilar cyst. We present three cases of the idiopathic calcinosis of the scrotum. Clinically these three patients showed slightly yellowish papules or nodules in the scrotum without any other cutaneous disorders and subjective symptoms except mild itching sensation in one case. Histopathologically calcium deposits were found in the dermis without any evidence of residual cysts, and partial foreign body reaction was seen around the calcified area in one case. Laboratory findings including serum calcium, phosphorous and potassium level were within normal limits.

The Journal of the Korean Orthopaedic Association 1978;13(3):399-408
The authors have reviewed 71 cases (70 patients) of the ankle fractures that were treated through the admission in Orthopedic Department, Paik Foundation Hospital, from June 1972 to April 1978. The average duration of the follow-up waa 15 months. The summary of the results were as follows; 1. Of the 71 cases, male was 54 cases and female 17 cases. The average age of the patients was 32. 2. The main cause of the injuries was traffic accident, and the other causes were sliding down and falling from a height, industrial accident, and sports injury in order. 3. By the classification of Lauge-Hansen, the pronation-external rotation and,supination-adduction types were commoner than the other types. 4. Open reduction was performed in 48 cases, and closed reduction in 23 cases. 5. The average duration of the cast immobilization after the closed reduction was 8 weeks, and that of the open reduction was 6 weeks. 6. The result of the treatment was better in those cases of the open reduction than that of, the closed reduction. 7. The good clinical results could be achieved by obtaining the anatomical position of the talus in the mortise and the reduction was achieved more satisfactorily when the key role of the lateral malleolus in complete reduction was well understood.

Journal of the Korean Pediatric Society 1979;22(7):546-549
A case of systemic mastocytosis in a 6 year old boy was presented. Skin lesions started to appear and spred several days after birth along with severe itching sensation, and intermitent abdominal pain & constipation developed at the age of 5. On physical examination, he was found to be underdeveloped (Height less than 3rd percentile) with normal vital signs. Liver was felt 1 1/2 fb below costal margin, spleen 2 fb. There were many brown to dark brown-colored irregular shaped maculopapulourticarial skin lesions, scattered all over the body, along with multiple thickened areas, and positive Darier's sign was noted. On upper GI series, many honey-combed filling defect were found throughout small intestine. Skin biopsy confirmed the diagnossis : showing multiple scattered infilteration of mast cells.

9.Histologic Findings of the Levator Muscle in Congenital and Acquired Ptosis.
Journal of the Korean Ophthalmological Society 1991;32(12):1031-1040
The authors have studied 132 biopsy specimens of the levator muscle by light microscopy and electron microscopy, after the external levator resetion for congen ital and acquired ptosis in 98 patients. Severe atrophy and complete absence of the levator muscle fiber were observed frequently in the all types of congenital and acquired ptosis, Fibrosis and fatty infiltration of the levator muscle and Miiller's muscle were examined in the specimens with severe atrophy of muscle fibers, There was no histopathological difference between congenital and acquired ptosis. On histochemical detection of muscle fibers using ATPase stain, lightly stained type I fibers of the levator muscle were larger in amount than darkly stained type II fibers and atrophy of the two fiber was similar in degree. Muller's muscle fiber was preserved well in normal structure.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1999;37(4):459-467
BACKGROUND: Chronic cutaneous lupus erythematosus(CCLE) is a well-known disease entity. But there has been no data about its clinical behavior and histopathologic features in Korea. OBJECTIVES: This study was conducted to elucidate the clinical, laboratory, and histopathologic features of CCLE, and the relationship between CCLE and SLE. MATERIALS AND METHODS: We investigated 48 cases of CCLE that visited the department of dermatology at the Seoul National University Hospital from January 1990 to June 1997. Medical records and biopsy slides were reviewed.
