We herein reported a typical case of erythroplasia of Queyrat in a 35-year-old male patient who had a 6 month-duration of a erythroplastic lesion on the glans penis and coronal sulcus. He was treated 5% 5-fluorouracil cream under occlusion twice a day for 10 days. Three months after treatment, no erythroplastic lesion was found and rebiopsy showed marked improvement histopathologically.

Reticulate acropigmentation of Kitamura, described first by Kitamura and Akam atsu in 1943, is a pigmentary disorder that may be determined by an autasomal dominant gene. Skin lesions are characterized clinically by depressed brownisL pigmented spots, in a reticulated pattern, on the extensor surface of the acral parts of the extremities. Most reported cases are confined to Japanese. We report herein a case of reticulate acropigmentation of Kitarnura in a 28- year-old woman, with a depressed brownish pigmented spots, in a reticulate pattern, on the dorsum of hands and left foot. The authors make the diagnosis of this case a reticulate acropigmentation of Kitamura for the clinical symptoms and histopathologic findings.

Osteochondritis dissecans is a condition in which part of the articular surface of a joint separates, due to a plane of cleavage through the subchondral bone. It is found most commonly in the knee although other joint can be affected, notably the elbow, ankle and hip. The etiology remains unclear, and treatment still provokes controversy in the orthopedic community. This review is confined to osteochondritis dissecans of the knee and reports the result of different methods of treatment including arthroscopic drilling. The authors experienced 7 cases of osteochondritis dissecans with received treatment at C.A.F.G.H. from May 1982 to November 1984. The results were obtained as follows: 1. Common symptoms and signs were pain, limitation of motion, quadriceps atrophy and weakness. 2. Five of six cases had histories of trauma. 3. Supravalvular aortic stenosis may be defined as an obstructive congenital deformity of the ascending aorta whitch originates just distal to the level of the origins of the coronary arteries, and whitch includes a wide spectrum of pathologic changes. A 27 years-old-female was admitted because of further evaluation of known some heart disease. Clinical diagnosis of supravalvular aortic stenosis was made by echocardiography and angiography. We presented a case of supravalvular aortic stenosis with a review of literature.

The mandibular contour determines the shape of the lower part of the face and thus influences the appearance of the face. A patient with a large, squarish, or broad face who desires a small, round, or slender face can undergo mandibular contouring surgery to reduce the width of the lower face. The successful correction of a prominent mandibular angle by conventional angle ostectomy has been reported. But, in the majority of patients with a widened facial appearance, both the mandibular angle and part of the mandibular body anterior to it are protuberant laterally, so both must be resected. The purpose of this study is to introduce a new method of performing mandibular contouring surgery, more effectively and easily, and to reduce postoperative complication and evaluate its results. We treated 6 patients who has prominent mandibular angle using multiple step osteotomy with angle-splitting ostectomy. The advantages of this new method are as following. (1) easily performable (2) effective mandibular contouring surgery by reducing the width of lower face (3) producing a natural relief of the mandibular angle (4) low risk of soft tissue damage and complications (5) shortening of the operation time. etc.

Serum IgE levels in 48 patients with scabies were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent a.ssay(ELISA) to evaluate the relationship between the scabies and serum IgE. A group of 44 healthy persons was taken as a controls. The results were summarized as follows: In children group(p 15 year-old) of the scabies, serum IgE level was 446 3 +267.2 IU/ml and significantly elevated than in controls, 126, 3 175, 4 IU/rnl, In adult group(over 16 year-old), serum IgE levels of the scabies and controls were 506. 4 + 581. 8 IU/ml, 435, 5+ 548, 8 lU/rnl respetively, and there was no significant difference between them. 2) There were no statistical correlations between the serum IgE levels and intensity of pruritus, duration of illness, number of skin lesions or number of circu1ating eosinophils in patients with scabies.

Displaced fracture of the ankle are probably the most common skeletal injury managed today by open reduction and internal fixation. But, it is recommended that metallic implant might be removed to restore normal biomechanical forces on hone and to reduce discomfort directly under the skin. in order to reduce the resources needed for the removal of metallic fixation devices, absorbable impiants of biodegradable synthetic polymers were deveioped. However reports of clinical application of such implants have so far been very few. This prospective study represents the good resuits in 15 displaced non-comminuted closed malleolar fractures of the ankle treated using hiodegradahle internal fixation in department of orthopedic surgery of Kwang Myung Sung Ae general hospitai from June I 995 to December 1996. The results were as follows 1. All cases were united and the average time for union was 7.6 weeks. 2. As a results of comparison with normal side, a restriction of 10 degrees or more of dorsiflexion of the ankle joint was present in 4 cases, a restriction of 20 degrees or more of plantar tlexion was present in 2 cases, a restriction of supination was present in 3 cases and a restriction of plantar flexion was present in 4 cases. 3. According to Phillips functional scoring scale, 4 cases were excellent, 7 cases good, 4 cases fair and no cases were poor. 4. There were no complications in all cases.

PURPOSE: To study the CT patterns of left lobar atrophy, including pathologic and hemodynamic features, incases of primary biliary disease. MATERIALS AND METHODS: CT findings of left hepatic lobar and segmental atrophyin 26 patients with histologically or radiologically-proven underlying bile-duct disease were reviewed. Seventeen cases were oriental cholangiohepatitis (OCH) with left intrahepatic stones and nine were cholangiocarcinomainvolving the hilar or left hepatic bile duct. The distribution and appearance of atrophy and adjacent lobarhypertrophy were studied. CT scans were examined for the presence of stenosis or obstruction of the left portalvein, and the enhancing pattern of lobar atrophy was analysed. In patients who had undergone left lobectomy, themechanism of lobar atrophy was correlated with radiographic and pathologic features. RESULTS: All patients showedbile duct dilatation localized to atrophic left hepatic segments. In cholangiocarcinoma, the distribution ofatrophy was characteristically lobar, in contrast to segmental distribution in OCH. Compensatory hypertrophy wasmore common in OCH and particularly involved the caudate lobe. Organic and functional occlusion of the left portalvein was a cause of atrophy, even in OCH. Periportal fibrosis and inflammation were the main pathological featureof atrophy. On spiral CT scan, delayed enhancement of atrophic liver parenchyma was the characteristic feature. CONCLUSION: Lobar or segmental left hepatic lobe atrophy is seen in bile duct disease caused by OCH orcholangiocarcinoma. This finding suggests that the disease process is advanced, and that there is obstruction ornarrowing of the left portal vein, associated with periportal fibrosis and inflammation.

The high prevalence of migraine. Raynaud's phenomenon, visual field defect and Crohn's disease in variant angina raises the possibility that a common underlying defect of mechanism may partially account for all conditions. These are generalized vascular smooth muscle hypercontractility syndromes. Recently high prevalence of esophageal motility disorders has been noted in patients with coronary artery spasm or microvascular angina, leading to the hypothesis of a generalized abnormality in smooth muscle function1,4,5). We expirienced a case of 55-year-old man with angiographically proven variant angina. Who showed reflux esophagitis, classic migraine and Raynaud's disease.
