42 cases of OSCC and 20 of healthy tissues were studied to detect the expression of NIMA-related Kinase 2(NEK2)mRNA by Real-time PCR.Over expression of NEK2 mRNA was observed in OSCC (z =-6.328,P <0.05),the expression was correlated with the differentiation (z =-5.012,P <0.05)and clinical stage (z =-4.950,P <0.05)of the lesion, but not with the lymph node metastasis (z=-0.051,P >0.05),age (z =-0.365,P >0.05)and gender (z =-3.450,P >0.05).NEK2 gene may be involved in the develop-ment of OSCC.

Objective:To study the differentially expressed proteins in saliva of health people and the patients with oral squamous cell carcinoma(OSCC).Methods:Saliva of 17 cases with OSCC and paired health subjects was collected, the proteins in the saliva were examined by two-dimensional gel electrophoresis (2-DE) separation, the proteins were examined by 2-DE separation, the saliva proteome dimensional electrophoresis profiles were obtained by MALDI-TOF/MS mass spectrometric identification, the information of the differentially expressed protein in OSCC group was studied by NCBI database bioinformatics analysis.Results:10 proteins differentially expressed between the 2 groups were observed by mass spectrometry.Bioinformatics analysis showed that S100A8,S100A8/S100A9 and Epidermal cytokeratin 2(EK2) were highly expressed in the saliva of OSCC cases.Conclusion:S100A8,S100A8/S100A9 and EK2 may be related to the development of OSCC.

OBJECTIVE To investigate the bleeding site, clinical features, treatment methods and curative effect of difficult-to-control epistaxis. METHODS The clinical data of 127 patients with difficult-to-control epistaxis admitted for treatment were retrospectively analyzed to investigate the common bleeding sites, clinical features, and curative effect. RESULTS There were statistically significant differences in the bleeding sites among patients of different age groups(P=0.000),whether they were combined with hypertension 2,3 grades(P=0.030),and whether patients taking long-term anticoagulants(P=0.000). Among the enrolled patients,14 patients were successful in the secondary hemostasis. Among the patients with two successful bleeding stops, the one-time cure rate of patients with hypertension 2,3 grades was significantly different from that of patients with hypertension 1 grade and non-hypertension(P=0.000). CONCLUSION Male patients with difficult-to-control epistaxis are more than female patients. The common bleeding sites are related to age, hypertension 2,3 grades, and long-term use of anticoagulants. Nasal endoscopic electrocoagulation is the preferred treatment method. The cure rate of electrocoagulation is related to blood pressure, and blood pressure control is necessary for patients with poor blood pressure control.
