The mechanism of Tongmai Oral Liquid (TOL) for chronic nephritis rat model with Qi-deficiency and blood-stasis syndrome was studied. The model was established by adding Qi-deficiency and blood-stasis syndrome to the chronic nephritis rats. The experimental rats were randomly allocated to 5 groups: Group A (treated with high dosage of TOL), Group B (treated with low dosage of TOL), Group C (treated with Jinshuibao), Group D (model control group) and Group E (normal control group). After 4 weeks of treatment, general health state, biochemical indexes including T lymphocyte subgroup and blood rheology, and pathological damage of kidney tissue were much improved in Group A than Group B and Group C. It is indicated that TOL can improve the renal function and delay the occurrence of glomerular arteriosclerosis in rats by reinforcing Qi, activating blood flow, regulating immune function, lessening the hypercoagulative state and reducing renal damage.

OBJECTIVETo evaluate therapeutic effects of Rigidfix cross pins combined with Intrafix pins for the reconstruction of anterior or posterior cruciate ligament under arthroscopy.
METHODSFrom January 2009 to June 2010,34 patients with anterior or posterior cruciate ligament injuries were divided into two groups : group A and group B. There were 24 patients in group A, including 19 males and 5 females, with an average age of (31.83±9.57) years old. The patients in group A were treated with anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction under arthroscopy; Rigidfix cross pins and Intrafix pins were used to fix femoral and tibial side respectively. Among the 10 patients in group B, 8 patients were male and 2 patients were female, with an average age of (27.20+7.59) years old. The patients in group B were treated with posterior cruciate ligament reconstruction under arthroscope; Intrafix pins and Rigidifix cross pins were used to fix femoral and tibial side sepectively. The drawer test and Lachaman test were used to evaluate postoperative knee stability. All the patients were followed up at least 18 months. Lysholm and Tegner knee scores were used to evaluate the clinical therapeutic effects.
RESULTSAll the 34 patients were followed up, and the duration ranged from 18 to 26 months, with an average of (20.79±2.39) months. All the patients obtained good pain relief and knee stability. In group A,Lysholm scores significantly increased from 43.04±7.57 preoperatively to 85.41±4.68, 92.50±3.05, and 93.45±2.57 at 6,12, and 18 months postoperatively; Tegner scores significantly increased from 2.62±0.92 preoperatively to 7.45±1.14, 8.58±0.77, and 8.95±0.55 at 6, 12, and 18 months postoperatively. In group B,Lysholm scores significantly increased from 46.20±8.27 preoperatively to 86.40±5.14,90.40±2.67,and 92.00±3.85 at 6,12,and 18 months postoperatively ;Tegner scores significantly increased from 2.00±0.66 preoperatively to 7.10±0.99, 8.60±0.84, and 8.80±0.42 at 6,12, and 18 months postoperatively. There were no differences in Lysholm and Tegner scores between group A and B at different times during follow-up. Lysholm scores of all patients significantly increased from 43.97±7.79 preoperatively to 85.70±4.76,91.88±3.06,and 93.02±3.01 at 6,12,and 18 months postoperatively. Tegner scores of all patients significantly increased from 2.44±0.89 preoperatively to 7.35±1.09, 8.58±0.78, and 8.91±0.51 at 6,12,and 18 months postoperatively. During the follow-up period, there were no serious immunological rejection and complications.
CONCLUSIONReconstruction of anterior or posterior cruciate ligament under arthroscopy with Rigidfix cross pins and Intrafix pins fixation is feasible therapy for anterior or posterior cruciate ligament injuries, and the fixation is rigid. 3. Research progress on treatment of diabetes with Tibetan medicine Huidouba
Chinese Traditional and Herbal Drugs 2017;48(8):1682-1686
Diabetes is a metabolic disorder characterized by insulin resistance and progressive failure of β cell. It becomes a major disease and causes much attention because of high incidence, high disability, and high morbidity. Traditional Chinese medicine and ethical minority medicine have certain effects on diabetes, such as regulating lipid and losing weight, improving insulin resistance, and reducing hypoglycemia risk, and also have obvious advantage in therapy for vascular complication. Studies show that Tibetan Huidouba can improve metabolism of blood glucose, triglyceride (TG), total cholesterol (TC), low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and malondialdehyde (MDA) content in diabetic animal. The metabolism includes inhibiting α-glycosidase enzyme, activating peroxisome proliferators activated receptors (PPAR), and inhibiting nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate coenzyme II (NADPH) oxidase.

Chinese Journal of School Health 2023;44(1):76-80
Objective:
To understand the longitudinal relationship between body shame, abnormal eating behavior and eating disorder tendency of adolescents, so as to provide reference for the intervention of eating problems among adolescents.
Methods:
From September 2020, a total of 1 097 students from two high schools and two universities in Heilongjiang Province were investigated for three times (T1, T2 and T3) with an interval of 9 months. Adolescents completed the Chinese Body Shame Scale, the Chinese Version of Dutch Eating Behavior Questionnaire and the Sick, Control, One, Fat, Food(SCOFF) questionnaire. A cross lag analysis was used to explore the relationship between body shame, abnormal eating behavior and eating disorder tendency.
Results:
The body shame, abnormal eating behavior and eating disorder tendency of adolescents showed an upward trend, but only the main effect of time on abnormal eating behavior was statistically significant ( F=3.78, P<0.05, η 2=0.18), and the main effect of gender on three variables were statistically significant ( F=18.06, 30.48, 25.09, P <0.01). There were significant and positive correlations between body shame, abnormal eating behavior and eating disorder tendency at three wave survey (T1: r =0.34-0.58, T2: r =0.35-0.56, T3: r =0.33-0.53, P <0.01). Body shame could predict abnormal eating behavior across time ( β T1-T2 =0.13, β T2-T3 =0.08, P < 0.05), and the predictive effect was stronger in female ( β T1-T2 =0.16, β T2-T3 =0.12, P <0.05), only the effect between T1 and T2 was significant in male ( β T1-T2 =0.09, P <0.05). Abnormal eating behavior ( β T1-T2 =0.14, β T2-T3 =0.15, P <0.01) and eating disorder tendency ( β T1-T2 =0.26, β T2-T3 =0.24, P <0.01) had cross time predictive effect. Abnormal eating behavior showed a mediating effect on the association between body shame and eating disorder tendency ( β ab =0.019, 95% CI=0.006-0.047, P <0.05), and the mediating effect was stronger in female ( β ab =0.029, 95% CI=0.008-0.053, P <0.05).
Conclusion
Adolescents body shame positively predicts abnormal eating behavior. Abnormal eating behavior and eating disorder tendency interact with each other, and body shame can indirectly affect eating disorder tendency through acting on abnormal eating behavior.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the expressions of phosphorylated Smad2 (P-Smad2) and phosphatase and tensin homolog deleted on chromosome ten (PTEN) in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) tissues.
METHODSThe expressions of P-Smad2 and PTEN were detected using Envision immunohistochemical technique in 31 cases of HCC tissues, 25 cases of HCC adjacent liver tissues and 13 cases of non-hepatocellular carcinoma tissues.
RESULTSThe positive expression and staining intensity of PTEN in the cytoplasm of HCC cells (64.5%, 4.19+/-3.31) was significantly lower than those of the cells of the cancer adjacent tissues and non-cancerous tissues (96.0%, 7.88+/-0.93; 100%, 7.77+/-0.93). The staining intensity of PTEN in the cytoplasm of Edmondson pathologic grade III HCC cells was lower than those of the Edmondson grade I. The expression of PTEN was negatively correlated with intrahepatic vascular cancer thrombi (r=-0.43) and the expression of PTEN in the nuclei or cytoplasm of liver cells was negatively correlated with the liver disease progressions (r=-0.34). The positive rate and expression intensity of phosphorylated Smad2 in nuclei of HCC cells were the same as those in cancer adjacent and non-tumor liver tissues. The expression was mostly in the nucleus and cytoplasm of Edmondson grade I HCC cells, cancer adjacent liver tissue cells and non-tumor liver tissues, but its expression was only in the nuclei of Edmondson grade II and III HCC cells. The phosphorylated Smad2 expression appeared in the nuclei and in the cytoplasm of liver cells and it was positively correlated with the severity of the tumor pathology (r=0.22). Spearman correlation analysis revealed a significant inverse correlation between PTEN and phosphorylated Smad2 in HCC tissues (r=-0.73).
CONCLUSIONSThe aberrant expressions of PTEN and phosphorylated Smad2 and their interaction may play an important role in the pathogenesis of hepatocellular carcinoma.
