Objective To investigate the impact of blood glucose level on the recurrence of liver cancer after laparoscopic surgery. Methods The clinical data of 98 patients with primary hepatocellular carcinoma from January 2012 to January 2015 were retrospectively analyzed. All patients were treated by laparoscopic radical resection of hepatocellular carcinoma. Patients were divided into elevated blood glucose group (n = 23) and control group (n = 75) according to whether the fasting blood glucose was ≥6.1 mmol/L. The recurrence of liver cancer in 1 year and 2 years after operation was compared. The factors influencing the recurrence of liver cancer were analyzed by univariate and multivariate analysis. Results The recurrence rates were 47.82% and 21.33% respectively in the patients with elevated blood glucose and the control group. The recurrence rates were 73.91% and 36.00%respectively in the 2-year postoperative patients with blood glucose and 1 year and 2 years. The recurrence rate was higher than that of the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). Logistic multivariate analysis showed that fasting blood glucose was high, Child-Pugh grade B, intraoperative blood transfusion, lymphatic invasion, high clinical pathology stage, postoperative alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) high, no postoperative adjuvant therapy (P < 0.05). Conclusion The recurrence rate of patients with elevated liver cancer after laparoscopic surgery is high, and fasting blood glucose is high, Child-Pugh grade is B grade, blood transfusion is high, there is lymphatic invasion, high clinical pathology stage after AFP high, no postoperative adjuvant therapy for its postoperative recurrence of risk factors, should strengthen the monitoring of high-risk patients, reduce postoperative recurrence rate.

The plants of Chimonanthus Lindl. are endemic traditional medicinal plants in China. As the important components of these plants, the Chimonanthus alkaloids showed biological activities such as hypotensive activity, anticonvulsant, antifungal, antiviral, analgesia, antitumor, and melanogenesis inhibitory properties. In this paper, the types, bioactivities, and synthesis of alkaloids in plants of Chimonanthus Lindl. were reviewed systematically for providing reference in the further research and development of Chimonanthus alkaloids.
6. Propofol attenuates neuroinflammation and brain damage via modulating PI3K/Akt signaling pathway in rats of focal cerebral ischemia
Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 2019;35(5):630-633
Aim To explore whether propofol attenuates neuroinflammation and brain damage via modulating PI3K/Akt signaling pathway following focal cerebral ischemia in rats, and further investigate the possible mechanisms. Methods Sprague-Dawley rats which underwent the cerebral ischemic injury by the suture occlusion model were randomly divided into sham operation, MCAO, propofol-treated and LY294002 groups. Neurological deficit scores, cerebral infarct size, and cerebral water content were measured , then the myeloperoxidase (MPO) activities in rat brain were measured as an index of neutrophil infiltration. The content of TNF-α and IL-1β in blood was determined using ELISA; the expressions of p-Akt and Akt in rat brain were detected by Western blot. Results Propofol reduced neurological deficit scores, cerebral infarct size, cerebral water content, MPO activity , TNF-α and IL-1β content, which were all abolished by LY294002. Propofol up-regulated the expression of p-Akt, which was inhibited by LY294002. Conclusion Propofol attenuates neuroinflammation and ischemic brain damage via modulating the PI3K/Akt signaling pathway.

Abstract: Objective To analyze the epidemic characteristics and influencing factors of school influenza-like cases in 2011-2022 in Nanchang, so as to provide reference for the prevention and control of school influenza outbreaks. Methods The epidemiological relevant data of school influenza-like cases from 2011 to 2022 in Nanchang and the pathogen test results of respiratory tract samples were collected for epidemiological and etiology analysis. Results From 2011 to 2022, a total of 142 influenza-like cases were reported in schools in Nanchang, with a cumulative morbidity of 2 880 cases and a morbidity rate of 1.89%. A total of 1 263 samples were collected, with an overall positive influenza nucleic acid detection rate of 58.91%. The highest proportion of outbreaks occurred in 2017-2019, while the lowest incidence was in 2011-2013. Outbreaks mainly occurred from November to March of the following year (accounting for 79.58%), presenting obvious seasonal characteristics. The distribution was mainly in primary schools, accounting for 70.42% (100/142) of all outbreaks. From 2011 to 2022, all types of influenza viruses were tested, and more than 2 types of influenza viruses were prevalent each year. The dominant strains alternated between influenza A H1N1, influenza A H3N2 and Victoria lineages of type B influenza viruses. From 2011 to 2019, the influenza epidemic in schools in Nanchang showed a continuous upward trend. During COVID-19 in 2020-2022, Nanchang adopted a variety of non-drug prevention and control measures for COVID-19, and both the number of influenza epidemics in various schools and the number of influenza virus nucleic acid positive cases decreased. The average number of classes involved in the epidemic was (3±2), and the average duration of the epidemic was (8±4) days. Conclusions The outbreaks of influenza-like illness in Nanchang schools is highly prevalent in winter and spring, , with urban primary schools being the high incidence locations. Non-drug prevention and control measures for COVID-19 have an impact on the epidemic trend of influenza, so the continuous monitoring of the school influenza virus activities and improving the timeliness of the report will be conducive to the rapid control of the epidemic.

The authors experienced a case of reversed malrotation of intestinal tract which was discovered unexpectedly during the operation for multiple colonic polyps. The patient was sixty-year-old female who was previously healthy until 8 months before the operation, when she developed tenesmus and constipation. She took segmental resection of sigmoid colon due to adenomas with moderate to severe dysplasia. Her right side of the transverse colon was found to be located within the lesser sac, posterior to the stomach, duodenum and superior mesenteric artery. The other part of the colon were in normal position. Because this congenital anomaly is known to be a rare type among the rotational anomaly with few literature, we report a case with probable interpretation.
