Objective To compare the effect of thin-sliced enhanced CT scanning and 3D-DSA data sources in the 3 D printing data reconstruction of intracranial arteriovenous malformation (AVM ). Methods Five patients with AVM were selected prospectively,3 were Spetzler-Martin grade II and 2 were grade III. Two of them used 256-slice spiral CT thin slice enhanced scanning. Three used the 3D-DSA rotating imaging, and the DICOM raw data of the examination results were extracted. Digital processing was performed by using the Mimics software, and the 3 D printing was performed according to the ratio of 1∶1 obtaining the solid model and the effects were compared. Results Using the data source 3 D printing of 256 slice spiral CT thin-slice enhanced scan could obtained skull and blood vessel image information and could reveal the smallest diameter of 0. 9 mm vessel, however, the fine branch structures of the vessel were difficult to distinguish. The 3D printing based on 3D-DSA data, although the digital subtraction did not have the skull data information, the vascular branches showed more abundant. It could reveal the smallest diameter of 0. 9 mm vessel. Conclusions Using the CT thin-slice enhanced scan or 3D-DSA data source can obtain reconstruction images of AVM nidus, and 3D-DSA shows that the better effect for spatial structure of AVM nidus. It is helpful to the design of preoperative treatment scheme and the development of corresponding auxiliary tools.

Objective To investigate the safety and effect of high intensity focused ultrasound ablation(HIFU) on residual liver cancer in patients after radiotherapy. Methods Twenty liver cancer patients with twenty five residual tumors after three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy or stereotactic radiotherapy received HIFU ablation. Liver function and periphery blood cell counts were performed before HIFU and at 1 week after HIFU in all patients. Enhanced MRI and α-fetoprotein (AFP) level were performed before HIFU and at 2 weeks after HIFU to evaluate the effect of HIFU ablation. The survival of all patients was assessed by the Kaplan-Meier method. Results The mean follow-up time was (12.6 ± 8.0)months. The median survival time and 1-year survival rate were 22 months and 87.5% respectively. No skin burns were observed in all patients. As compared with before HIFU,there were no significant differences in the levels of albumin, alanine transarninase, aspartate transarninase, total bilirubin, direct bilirubin, blood red cell counts, blood white cell counts and blood platelet counts at 1 week after HIFU (paired t test, P =0. 156,0. 356,0. 203,0.659,0. 531,0. 519,0. 310,0. 346, respectively). Significant difference in AFP level of 9 patients with AFP>20 μg/L was observed before HIFU and 2 weeks after HIFU (paired t test, P =0.030). Among 25 residual liver tumors, sixteen with complete ablation and six with ablation volume of ≥80% were observed by enhanced MRI at 2 weeks after HIFU. Conclusions HIFU may be a safe and effective new method to ablate residual liver cancer after three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy or stereotactic radiotherapy.

Objective The study was to evaluate the behavioral differences in learning and memory abilities among three ani -mal models of Alzheimer′s disease. Methods Three SD rat models(n=20) were used in this study. The first SD rat model was es-tablished by intracerebral injection of Aβ25-35 into the bilateral hippocampus , the second mouse model was induced by intraperitoneal in-jection of scopolamine and the third was a senescence accelerated mouse model .Morris Water maze test was performed to investigate behavioral differences by comparison to corresponding blank control groups ( sham operation group , blank group and P8 group ) . Results The learning and memory abilities of senescence accelerated rats and scopolamine -treated rats were worse than those of the corresponding control groups, especially the scopolamine-treated rat ([35.47 ±3.78]s vs [50.61 ±3.94]s, P<0.01).There was no significant difference between Aβrats and sham-operated rats(P>0.05). Conclusion The model of Alzheimer′s disease in-duced by intraperitoneal injection of scopolamine represents more distinct changes in learning and memory abilities .Morris water maze test can be used to well evaluate whether the scopolamine-induced model is successfully established or not .
