1.The Activity of Medical Terminology Practical Committee.

This article describes the activity of the "Medical termonology practical committee (MTPC) of Korean Medical Association (KMA). In 2001, MTPC of KMA published the 4th edition of "English-Korean, Korean-English Medical terminology" which contains about 5,000 medical terms. The MTPC will continue reviewing the vocabularies. Obsolete terms will be discarded, new terms will be added, and the remainder will be revised by through-going revision of vocabulary. Our aim is to reflect the current usage of medical terms in the form of easily understandable Korean terms.

2.The Advantage and Effect of Acupuncture Treatment on Athletes Uterine Bleeding

Objective]Observe the clinical effects of acupuncture treatment of athletes uterine bleeding. [Method]This study included 90 patients with uterine bleeding, randomly divided into three groups, treatment group 30 cases treated by acupuncture. The western medicine control group 30 cases treated with western medicine. Chinese medicine control group 30 cases were treated by traditional Chinese medicinal broth. One treatment course(after 30d) observation curative effect.[Results]The western medicine control group 15 cases cured, 6 cases were markedly effective, 6 cases better, 3 had no effect, the total effective rate was 90%. Traditional Chinese medicine control group 21 cases cured, 6 cases had marked effect, improvement in 3 cases, the total effective rate was 100%. Treatment group: 24 cases were cured, 3 cases had marked effect, improvement in 3 cases, the total effective rate was 100%.[Conclusions]Three treatments had curative effect, but the side effects of western medicine stopped taking the drug repeatedly; for the special athletes, the acupuncture treatment is worthy of popularization and application.
3.Correlation between lipid metabolism and coronary atherosclerosis in advanced aged patients with coro-nary heart disease

Objective:To explore the correlation between lipid metabolism and coronary atherosclerosis in advanced aged patients with coronary heart disease (CHD) .Methods:A total of 95 advanced aged patients ,who were suspec-ted CHD and received coronary angiography (CAG) in our hospital from Dec 2010 to Dec 2013 ,were selected .Ac-cording to CAG results ,the 95 patients were divided into CHD group (n=43) and non-CHD group (n=52) .Their clinical data were retrospectively analyzed ,and the correlations between blood lipids and coronary atherosclerosis were analyzed .Results:Compared with non-CHD group , the ratio of low density lipoprotein cholesterol to high density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C/HDL-C) [ (2.01 ± 0.65) vs .(2.38 ± 0.92) , P=0.024] significantly rose in CHD group .In CHD group ,number of diseased coronary vessel was positively correlated with triglyceride (TG) level ,LDL-C/HDL-C ,TG/HDL-C and atherogenic index of plasma (AIP) , r=0.183~0.256 (P<0.05 all) ,and inversely correlated with HDL-C level (r= -0.243 ,P<0.05);coronary stenosis degree was positively correlated with LDL-C/HDL-C ,TG/HDL-C and AIP (r=0.225~0.331 ,P<0.05) ,and inversely correlated with HDL-C level (r= -0.261 ,P<0.05) .In CHD group ,total Gensini score was positively correlated with blood lipid indexes (r=0.068~0.201 ,P<0.05 or <0.01) and inversely correlated with HDL-C level (r= -0.138 ,P<0.01) .Con-clusion:Elevated plasma HDL-C level can delay progression of coronary heart disease in advanced aged patients with coronary heart disease .LDL-C/HDL-C and AIP are indexes evaluating severity and risk of coronary atherosclerosis in patients with coronary heart disease .
4.Relations between Breast Cancer Treatment Strategy and HER-2 Overexpression

Objective To study the expression of HER-2 expression in breast cancer and the significance ,and to look into rela-tions between axillary lymph node metastasis in patients ,TNM ,T staging ,histological type ,PR and ER as well as drug treatment strategy of HER-2 over expression .Methods Eighty-four cases of patients admitted by this hospital from May 2008 to May 2012 diagnosed with breast cancers were selected ,84 patients were examined in this hospital ,and conditions of patients were classified , they were tested by use of Streptavidin-Peroxidase (SP method) ,test results and samples of normal breast tissues were compared . Results The level of HER-2 factor receptor in mammary gland tissues of patients with breast cancer was higher than that within normal breast tissue ,the difference was statistically significant (P< 0 .05) ,the expression of HER-2 receptor in patients with breast cancer tissue was unrelated to TNM staging ,histological type (P values were 0 .256 and 0 .157 respectively) .Conclusion HER-2 plays a key role in the identifying the generation and development of the breast cancer ,and it can provide the basis for the diagnosis ,multi-targeted therapy of patients with breast cancers .
5.Effect of ultrasound on early experimental osteoarthritis of rabbit knees

Objective:To observe the effect of low intensity pulsed ultrasound on early experimental osteoarthritis of rabbit knees.Methods:Experimental osteoarthritis of rabbit knees were made by Hulth's method.A total of 30 rabbits were divided averagely into 3 groups randomly.One hind knee of 10 rabbits of each group were treated with LIPU randomly while the others as control for 2、4 and 8 weeks respectively.All animals were sacrificed after LIPU.Then the histo-histochemical changes were evaluated by Mankin's score method.Results:Mankin's scores showed that the pathological changes in LIPU group were slighter than those in control group.Conclusion:LIPU can slow down the disease progress of experimental osteoarthritis of rabbit knee.
6.Effects of propofol on cell viability and apoptosis in primary cultured cortical neurons of newborn rats

Objective:To investigate the effects of propofol on cell viability and apoptosis in primary cultured cortical neurons of newborn rats.Methods:Primary culture was prepared from newborn rat,and cultured for 6 days.Immunocytochemical and electronic Micoscopic methods were used to identify the cultured neurons.Cells were treated by propofol with different concentrations and at different times.The effects of propofol on neurons were evaluated by cell viability(MTT assay)and markers of apoptosis(TUNEL cell staining and Western-blot of Cleaved-caspase3).Results:There were no significant differences in cell viability among the six groups after 12 h, whereas high concentration of propofol caused an increase in neuronal cell viability after 24 h and 48 h.Propofol incubation for 24 h triggered apoptosis on the neurons(P
7.The proliferation of lymphocyte with stimulation of PPD after immunization with H37Ra in mice

Objective:To research the proliferation of lymphocyte with stimulation of purified protein derivative (PPD) after immunization with H37Ra in mice.Methods:The rate of lymphocyte proliferation with stimulation of PPD was determined at day 30 and day 60 after subcutaneous immunization and celiac immunization with H37Ra in mice.Results:After immunization with H37Ra in mice,the rate of lymphocyte proliferation by celiac immunization route and subcutaneous immunization route was 21.98% and 24.85% respectively at day 30;and it was 25.50% and 25.02% respectively at day 60.The rate of lymphocyte proliferation immunized with H37Ra at day 30 and day 60 were much higher than that of non-immunization( P 0.05);there were no significant difference between subcutaneous immunization route and celiac immunization route of H37Ra in mice.Conclusion:H37Ra can induce anti-tuberculosis immune response.
8.Exploration on lumbar disc herniation in senile multi-segment posterior decompression and discectomy in the elderly

Objective: To investigate explore Lumbar disc herniation in senile multi-segment posterior decompression and discectomy. Methods:To select from 62 to 85 years old were treated in our hospital from September 2007 to October 2012 for surgical treatment of 80 patients with senile multi-segmental lumbar disc herniation were divided into two groups, 62-year-old to 70-year-old group, by age, 71-year-old to 85-year-old group, choose the right posterior decompression and discectomy disc disease in each patient location, type, etc. surgical approach, adopt the intervertebral unilateral fenestration decompression discectomy patients 45 cases; bilateral laminectomy discectomy patients 18 cases;dual intervertebral unilateral half laminectomy excisionpatients 17 cases. Results:Surgical treatment of the two groups of patients with different ages compared to the excellent 62-year-old to 70-year-old patients was significantly higher than the excellent 71-year-old to 85-year-old patients. Conclusion:Surgery is effective treatment of senile multi-segmental lumbar disc herniation, the efficacy of elderly patients older than younger elderly patients.
9.Expression of TNF-? from celiac macrophage after immunization of H37Ra in mice

Objective:To explore the activity of tumor necrosis factor-?(TNF-?)from celiac macrophage after immunization of H37Ra in mice.Methods:The activity of TNF-? from celiac macrophage was measured by biological method at 30 th day and 60 th day after subcutaneous immunization and celiac immunization of H37Ra in mice.Results:After immunization of H37Ra in mice,the activity of TNF-? by celiac immunized route and subcutaneous immunized route was 22.06U/ml and 22.63U/ml respectively at 30 th day;and it was 36.76U/ml and 33.78U/ml respectively at 60 th day.The activity of TNF-? immunized with H37Ra at 30 th day and 60 th day was much higher than that of non-immunization group( P 0.05),however,the activity of TNF-? in H37Ra immunization group was much higher than that in BCG immunization group at 60 th day( P
10.Establishment of 3-D finite element models of immediately loaded dental implants

Objective To create 3-D models of immediately loaded screw-type dental implants for finite element analysis by computer.Methods Using the commercial code of SolidWorks,3-D models of screw-type dental implants and a segment of mandibular bone were generated.By ABAQUS software,the 3-D implant-bone complex was meshed.The interfacial contact of bone and the implants was defined to be a frictional contact with the initial press-fit stress(by Interference Fit Option) to simulate the contact of immediately loaded implants and bone tissue.Results The finite element models of the immediately loaded screw-type implant were successfully created on the computer.As the interference fit got deeper,the interfacial initial press-fit stress got higher values.Conclusion The finite element models of the immediately loaded screw-type implants can be built with this method.The interfacial status of the primary press-fit stress can be simulated by the Interference Fit Options in the finite element software.
