Journal of Environment and Health 1993;0(03):-
To provide the human being with safe drinking water is one of the most important issues in public health. In response to the more and more serious pollution of algal toxins, growing concern has been attached to the water bodies contaminated with algal toxins and the effects posed on human health. Drinking water suppliers are confronted with the important problem of how to remove the toxins to the acceptable levels. Conventional water treatment procedures are not efficient in removing toxins. Activated carbon adsorption, membrane filtration, photocatalic process, ozonation and chlorination are effective in removing cyanobacterial toxins, but each has its limitation.

Journal of Clinical Hepatology 2017;33(1):175-179
Liver and gastrointestinal tumors greatly threaten human health and have poor therapeutic outcomes and prognosis.Tumor necrosis factor -alpha -induced protein 8 -like 2 (TIPE2)can negatively regulate innate immunity and adaptive immunity and maintain immune ho-meostasis.Recent studies have found that TIPE2 can affect various signaling pathways and thus exerts an inhibitory effect on the development and progression of tumors. This article briefly introduces the structure and function of TIPE2 and its regulatory effect on tumor -related sig-naling pathways such as Ras,Ral,and Rac and downstream molecules,as well as the role of TIPE2 in liver and gastrointestinal tumors,re-lated signaling pathways, and research advances.

To explore the therapeutic efficacy of extracorporeal shock wave (ESW) for persistent heel pain.A total of 98 patients of persistent heel pain were randomly divided into ESW treatment and control groups (n =49 each).Treatment group had ESW while control group received infrared physical therapy. And their visual analogue scale (VAS) scores were assessed. After one course of treatment, VAS heel pain and function scores were (39.6 ± 6.2) and (25.1 ± 4.6) in ESW group versus (32.3 ± 6.5) and (17.4 ±7.2) in control group. And before treatment, (16.5 ±4.6) and (14.4 ±8.6), (16.1 ±4.7) and (14.6 ± 8.4) respectively.Heel pain significantly decreased with functional improvement (all P < 0.05).After one course, the effective rate was 65% (32/49) in treatment group. And the improvement rate of 31% (15/49) was better than control group [27% (13/49) and 63% (31/49)] (all P < 0.05).ESW treatment of persistent heel pain was more efficacious than physical therapy and it could be applied clinically.

Sino 0.5 or 2 mg/kg iv reduced significantly heart rate ( HR), systolic blood pressure ( SBP ), diastolic blood pressure ( DBP ), left ventricular systolic pressure ( LVSP) , dP/dtmax, cardiac index ( CI ) and total peripheral resistance ( TPR ) . VCE- + dP/dtmax was unchanged. T value did't change in 0 .5mg/kg, but it elevated in 2 mg/kg.

Objective To investigate the significance of cortactin in primary liver cancer. Methods Fiftythree paraffin embedded primary liver cancer specimens were collected at General Hospital of Air Force of PLA from January 2002 to May 2008. The expression of cortactin was detected by immunohistochemistry, and the relationship between cortactin expression and clinicopathologic parameters was analyzed. All data were analyzed via Wilcoxon rank sum test and Spearman rank correlation analysis. Results There was a significant difference in cortactin expression among tumor capsule integrity, TNM staging, portal vein tumor thrombus and extrahepatic metastasis (u =2. 19, 3. 584, 2. 796, P < 0.05 ). There was a positive correlation between tumor invasion and cortactin expression ( r = 0. 5794, P < 0.05 ). Conclusions Overexpression of cortactin may be one of the factors enhancing the invasion of primary liver cancer. The level of cortactin expression can be used in evaluating the invasive potential of primary liver cancer.

The study is to establish an HPLC method using fluorescence detector for the determination of doxazosin enantiomers and investigate their chiral inversion in vitro and in vivo. Ultron ES-OVM was taken as the chiral chromatographic column, and the column temperature was 30 degrees C. Isocratic elution using a mobile phase of phosphate buffer-acetonitrile (85 : 15, v/v) at a flow rate of 0.8 mL x min(-1) was done. The fluorescence detection was set at lambda(Ex) = 255 nm and lambda(Em) = 385 nm. Prazosin was used as the internal standard. (-) Doxazosin or (+) doxazosin added into rat plasma in vitro was determined after incubating in 37 degrees C water bath for 2, 5 and 10 days. (-) Doxazosin or (+) doxazosin was administered orally to the rats for one months. Plasma samples were taken at 8 h after the last administration. A good linear relationship was achieved when the concentration of doxazosin enantiomers was within the range of 4 - 2 000 ng x mL(-1). The average recovery for (-) doxazosin was 99.5% with RSD 3.6%, and for (+) doxazosin was 99.3% with RSD 4.3%. Chiral inversion was observed neither in vitro nor in vivo studies. The method is selective, accurate and reproducible, which is suitable for the detection of doxazosin enantiomers in rat plasma. The in vitro and in vivo studies indicate that chiral inversion occurs uneasily between (-) doxazosin and (+) doxazosin in the rat.
