The Journal of the Korean Orthopaedic Association 1998;33(6):1530-1536
A retrospective analysis was conducted on ski injury collected in past 12 years, from 1982 to 1995, exception of 1986 and 1987 at the Young Pyeong Ski Resort in Korea. A total of 3,093,667 skiers during the 12 years period are cohort of this investigation. Of 3,093,667 skiers, 7,172 injuries were indexed by anatomic region and severity according to diagnosis on initial evaluation. The frequency of injury changes from 3.4 to 1.5 per 1,000 skier-days during the 12 years. The rate of upper extremity to lower extremity injury increased from 1:1.33 to 1:0.89 during the study period(P<0.005). The most common upper extremity injury pattern was simple injury including laceration and contusion(74.2%). The ulnar collateral ligament injury of thumb make up of 6.5% of all injuries. In conclusion, upper extremity skiing injury was related to 1) Skiers activity level, 2) Skiers skill, 3) Degree of fatigue, 4) Slope condition, 5) Improvement of ski equipment, and 6) Increased skiing population density.

8.Hemagglutination Inhibition Test in Epidemic Encephalitis of Korea.
Journal of the Korean Neurological Association 1985;3(2):203-209
Analyzing HI tests of 110 cases of clinical Japanese Encephalitis in 1982, the following results are obtained. 1. The results of HI test are positive in 39 (35.5%), borderline positive in 19 (9.1%), negative in 14 (12.7%) and undetermined in 47 (43.7%) cases. 2. In 49 cases of positive HI test, 14 cases reveal the positive result on the first HI test requested in 5-27 days after the clinical onset of symptoms, and 35 cases show increasing HI titers on the follow-up studies. There is a tendency of increasing HI titers upto 3-4 weeks of onset and sustaining the value for more than two months. 3. In 35 cases with increasing titers on follow-up study, the highest titer is 1:80 in 5 cases, and the half of HI negative cases maintain that value throughout the course. 4. There is no significant statistical differences in clinical characteristics, laboratory and cerebrospinal fluid studies between the patient group of HI positive or borderline and group of HI negative or undermined, except mean hospital day and incidence of coma and death.

Journal of the Korean Neurological Association 1983;1(1):101-105
Four members of a family suffering from frequent attacks of flaccid paralysis with asymptomatic myotonia were evaluated. There was an autosomal dominant pattern of inheritance and their earliest symptoms were noticed between 1-3 years of age. The plasma potassium level rised during the attack and an EMG demonstrated myotonic discharge. Treatment with acetazolamide was beneficial. These findings were consistent with adynamia episodica hereditaria. The clinical features and pathogenesis were also described.

10.A case Report of Oculocraniosomatic Neuromuscular Disease with "Ragged-red-fibers".
Journal of the Korean Neurological Association 1983;1(2):68-74
This is a case report of oculocraniosomatic neuromuscular disease with "ragged-red fibers". The patients is 36 years old female who is revealing slowly progressive ptosis, external ophthalmoplegia, general weakness and mild right hemiparesis and hemianesthesia. The EMG findings are suggestive of diffuse myopathic process and the frozen muscle specimen from the left deltoid muscle shows the characteristic "ragged-red fibers" with classical myopathic changes.
