The pathogeoesis of papulonecrotic tuberculid had been thought to be the result of hernatogenous dissemination from primary tuberculous focus of other organs. But, today, the existence of papulonecrotic tuberculid as a rare cutaneous reaction to the Mycobacterium bacillus is questioned. Papulonecrotic tuberculid is, however, a real entity in underdeveloped countries where tuberculosis is more common. We report a case having papulonecrotie tuberculid associated with cervical lymph node tuberculosis confirmed by typical histopathology and by clinical response to antituberculous chemotherapy. This case supports Iden et al's view (1) that skepticism regarding the existence of papulonecrotic tuberculid is probably the result of the current decreased prevalence of untreated tuberculosis and consequently increased rarity of this entity.

Malignant angioendothelioma is an uncommon malignant vascular tumor featuring endothelial cell, and it occurs most frequently in sixth and seventh decade. Most lesions occur over the face and scalp, and may be solitary or multiple, The lesion usally appears as a localized dark red to purplish nodules or plapue with small satellite nodules. Histopatholgic finding shows a nodule eomposed of irregular vascular spaces lined by plump endothelial cells stroma. We present a case of malignant angioendo thelioma on a 42 year-old woman. The patient had purplish nodule with satellite lesions on the right cheek. This case was confirmed by clinical picture, histologic findings and electron microscopic examination.

The brief report of Zeisler (1922) of a pregnant woman with scattered telangiectasia in a unilateral distribution is perhaps the first recorded case of this syndrome. The syndrome has been described in association with pregnancy, puberty, alcoholisrn and cirrhosis, hormonal therapy and congenital status. The authors observed in a 17-year-old male unilateral telangiectatic lesions over the left C, C, C, Tl and T, dermatomal regions. The lesions developed at first at his puberty on the anterior part of the chest as speckled bright red discoloration. Thereafter, the lesion has been progressed to involve the left upper extremity, sholder, upper middle part of the chest, eventually. Family history was negative and physical, lahoratory and X-ray examination were all negative or within normal limit. No mucous membrane involvement was observed. On histopathologic examination of the skin lesion, thin walled ectatic vessels lined with single layer of endothelial cells were observed in the upper dermis. The lesions were partly dermabrased with favorable result.

We have experienced an unusual case of hemorrhagic renal cyst in the rt. kidney at 58 years old woman. The Rt. kidney was enlarged, and showed a few subcapsular ischemic areas The color of kidney was dark brown. As the cyst at lower pole of rt. kidney was dissected, hemorrhagic fluid visualized in the cystic cavity. The final pathologic finding was renal cyst associated with malignant change and renal cell carcinoma at another renal parenchyma. Herein, hemorrhagic renal cyst, a rare clinical entity, was reported with review of literatures.

Bone tumor in the trochanteric area is not infrequent and it is important to differentiate the tumors in this area for diagnosis, early settings of therapeutic plans and prognostic previsions. Twenty-one cases of benign bone tumors in the trochanteric area treated at Dept. of Orthopedi Surgery, College of Medicine, Ewha Womans University Hospital, from January 1975 to December 1983 were analysed and following results were obtained. l. of 21 cases, 10 cases were fibrous dysplasia, 6 cases were simple bone cyst, 3 were giant ce tumor and 2 were aneurysmal bone cyst. 2. Pathologic fractures were accompanied in 6 cases; 3 of fibrous dysplasia, 2 of simple bone cy: and 1 of aneurysmal bone cyst. 3. After treatment with curettage, bone graft and instrumentation, 3 cases recurred; 2 cases of fibrous dysplasia and 1 of simple bone cyst. 4. As prognostic factors, completeness of curettage, amount and source of bone graft were considered to be important.

BACKGROUND: To evaluate the safety and the efficacy of amlodipine, a dihydropyridine calcium antagonist, monotherapy in the treatment of moderate essential hypertension. METHOD: Amlodipine 5mg once a day was administered as a starting dose in 30 patients with essential hypertension in the morning and a one step upward titration was performed (amlodipine 10 mg once a day) was done at the end of 4weeks treatment. Final evaluation was done at 12weeks with laboratory test and echocardiogram. RESULT: Within 4weeks treatment with dose of 5mg amlodipine once a day, the systolic blood pressure (SBP) was decreased(184.5+/-23.3/150.5+/-16.0mmHg,p<0.000), and the diastolic blood pressure(DBP) was also decreased significantly (109.9+/-04.6/92.3+/-11.5mmHg, P<0.001). After 12 weeks of treatment with a mean dosage of 6.6mg once a day, SBP and DBP was maintained comparing with basal level (147.0+/-15.8/88.1+/-0.9mmHg, respectively). The efficacy of amlodipine treatment was noted an excellent in 16 patients(53.3%), good in 4 patient(13.3%), fair in 4 patients(13.3%), and failed in 2 patients(6.7%). There was no significant change in heart rate before and after amlodipine treatment. (80.0+/-2.3/80.9+/-10.4 beats/minute n.s). Amlodipine had not significant effects on laboratory findings such as serum creatinine, BUN, ALT/AST, hemoglobin, leukocyte count, platelet and lipid profiles. There was facial flushing 2 patients, but no need to discontinue administration of amlodipine and all patients completed for 12weeks therapy. CONCLUSION: It is concluded that amlodipine is an effective antihypertensive agent, as monotherapy once a day in patients with moderate essential hypertension.

The authors present a case of interstitial keratitis due to congenital syphilis in a 25-years old Korean army soldier, who had admitted to our Eye clinic at 2nd Feb. 68'. The patient may be present, such as interstitial keratitis, deafness and Hutchinson's teeth. Syphilitic interstitial keratitis is known as a rare case in recent time. A brief review of the related literatures is present.

Journal of Nutrition and Health 2019;52(4):408-411
PURPOSE: This study investigated the effect of bioactive Yeonsan Ogye peptides (YOPs) intake on changes in the hepatic anti-oxidant indexes in male rats. METHODS: Sprague-Dawley male rats were divided into 3 groups and given a casein-based AIN-93G diet and distilled water ad libitum without any added YOPs (control), distilled water with 250 mg of YOPs (Y250), or 500 mg of YOPs (Y500) per kg of body weight for 4 weeks. YOP dose was decided as referred to in the referenced study where toxicity did not occur. The hepatic anti-oxidant indexes were determined using a commercial kit. Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS version 23.0 and are expressed as mean ± standard error of mean. Differences among the groups were evaluated by one-way analysis of variance followed by post hoc Duncan's multiple comparisons test. RESULTS: There were no differences in the body weights, weight gain, food intake, food efficiency ratio, or organ weight, including liver, kidney, spleen, thymus, and epididymal fat, among all of the groups. The hepatic nitric oxide (NO) level in the Y500 group was lower than that in the control and Y250 groups, and the hepatic malondialdehyde (MDA) level was lower in the Y500 group than in the Y250 group. The differences in hepatic superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase (CAT) activities were not statistically significant between the groups. From these results we speculated that YOPs may have anti-oxidative abilities to regulate NO and MDA production without affecting SOD and CAT activities. CONCLUSION: YOPs are presumed to act as anti-oxidants in the animal or human body.
