1.Indirect signs of helix CT in the syndrom of acute obstruction of urological upper tract

At Hue Central Hospital from March 2001 to September 2002, 31 patients (21 males, 10 females) aged 19-64 years old underwent a CT scanning and a venous urogramme within 12 hours since the admission into emergency room. CT scanning showed 31 stones in ureter duct and urogramme showed acute obstruction in 31 homolateral kidneys. Helix CT imaging without photocontrast injection had got some containing limits in the diagnosis of acute obstruction and in evaluating the obstruction level in patients with few fat retroperitoneal layer.

2.Osseous demineralization among people more than 50 years

A study on 116 patients more than 50 years in a private clinic in Hue City has shown that 39 patients had symptoms of osseous demineralization in the film of thoraco-liunbal spine. The rat of osseous demineralization increased with age, especially in women. The common complications of the osseous demineralization were long bone fracture and spinal flat.

3.To test the renal colic due to ureteric stone by 2D-ultrasound

96 patients with 65 males and 24 femals aged from 19-65 years old with colic symptoms at lumbar- abdomen area. Among them 86 cases were urine calculus, 7 cases other conditions diagnosed by bidimension ultrasound a simple technique for diagnosis of most of simple kidney colics. Ultrasound should be used in acute lumbar- abdomen colic, with low sensitivity, this technique showed be associated with X Ray. Measuring the anterior and posterior pyelic diameters in comparing with the healthy kidney for detecting their contraction and dilatation. In case of proof lacking the combination with X Ray will be necessary to determine the function and morphology of ureteral system.
