1.HIV infection combine with HCV infection and syphilis in harlot at Loc Ha Camp

An investigation was conducted at Loc Ha dignity restoration center, 400 newly admitted prostitutes into the center undewent serum examination at the Preventive Medicine Centre, ELISA assay at Military Hospital 108, RPR technique at the Hanoi Venero-Dermatology Centre from June to Demcember 2000. Results showed an incidence of HIV of 13%, HCV of 26.3%, syphylis 7.4%. The risk of HIV infection on the subjects with HCV(+), syphylis(+), the drug intravenous users, the subjects of HCV(+)/HIV(+) was higher by 75% than those of HCV(+)/HIV(+) 19.5%.

2.Results of treatment of patients with gastroduodenal ulceration by pansiron G
Journal of Preventive Medicine 2001;11(4):32-36
40 patients with gastroduodenal ulceration and positive H.pylori treated by pansiron, amoxycilline and metronidazole within 10 days. The results have shown that pansiron G was a drug that cover the gastric mucosa well and heal 70% of ulceration focuses. The H.pylori killing rate by the above outline was 65,7%.

3.The genital chlamydial infection in pregnant woman in Ha noi

The prevalence of Chlamydial infection in pregnant women was 8,1%. Pregnant women under 25 years old were at high risk for Chlamydial infection. Chlamydial infection was not associated with gestational age. There is no difference about the prevalence of Chlamydial infection between the rural and urban women. Oral amoxicillin had a efficacy of 82,2% after 1 stage and 86,4% after 2 stages of treatment. The result suggested that amoxicillin is a safe, well tolerated and effective for treatment of Chlamydia in pregnant women.

4.Evaluation of efficacy of Vratisolin 2% in the treatment of epidemic conjunctivitis

38 patients (18 males, 20 females), age from 17 to 61 years, were assigned in two groups. Group 1 including 29 patients (53 eyes), vratisolin 2% ophthalmic ointment was applied 4-5 times daily into the conjunctive sac. Group 2 including 9 patients (15 eyes), Ofus ophthalmic eyes drops was used 10 times daily. Results: in patients with epidemic conjunctivitis, treated by Vratisolin, more rapid reduction of symptoms was observed in comparing with this the group treated with Ofus eye drops.

5.Anemia related with hemoglobin diseases in Thai children in Lao Cai

Totally 179 children aged from 6 months to 15 years from 2 villages Taja and Na Cang, Than Uyen district, Lao Cai province was investigated clinically and hematologically. Among them, 99 were boys and 80 girls. The results show that prevalance of anemia among these children was as high as 49.7%. 50 anemic from children 89 had hemoglobin disorder. All children with moderate and severe anemia had hemoglobin-diseases. From the result above we suggest that thalassemia and HbE are serious cause for anemia in children from the region. It is nesecery to establish the thalassemia prevention programme for this region.

6.Rectal polypectomy by endoscopy with elastic tube in children

106 patients indicated the rectal endoscopy due to chronic diarrhea, rectal functional disorder, abnormal rectal X-ray, family history of rectal carcinoma, family history of polyp, iron insuffericiency anemia, chronic abdominal pain. The results have shown that 82 patients with polyp in which patients with a polyp (73.1%) 2 polyps (13.4%), 3 polyps (6.1%), 4, 5 and 6 polyps (3.6%) and polypose (3.6%). 112 polyps were removed by endoscopy with the elastic tube (67.86%). The study concluded that the rectal poplypectomy by endoscopy with elastic tube was a effective, simple and safe method.

7.Ability of diagnosis of pancreatic adenocarcinoma by two dimensional ultrasound in comparing with CT scanner and endoscopic ultrasound

Studying on 35 patients were preoperative diagnosed as pancreatic adenocarcinoma received operations in ViÖt §øc hospital during 2000-2001 showed that: 29 patients with pancreatic adenocarcinoma and 6 patients without the disease. The two dimensional ultrasound found 18 cases (62%) with specificity (50%) and correct (60%), value of positive predict (85.7%). The rate of precise diagnosis of two dimensional ultrasound, CT scanner, and endoscopic ultrasound were 60%, 72.7%, and 83.3%, respectively.

8.Candida-related vaginitis in pregnant women in Ha Noi

The study was conducted on the women without chronic internal disease who were examined and followed at the Institute of Mother and newborn protection between 6/1998 and 10/2000. Obstetric and gynecological history and risk factors of candidosis were investigated. The results found that candidosis was more likely to occur during pregnancy. The candidosis incidence of women who lived in inner city was higher than that of women who lived in suburb. Pre-intercourse hygiene and menstrual hygiene under water stream linked to reduce the risk. Intrauterine device (IUD) and oral contraceptives had not related to vaginal candidosis

9.Micostat 7 in the treatment of Candidal vaginitis

100 women being infected with candida fungus and having itching at lower genital tract have been treated: 50 with micostat 7 and 46 with Lomexin vaginal insertion. In the micostat 7 group, 68.5% had negative results after treatment compared with 65.2% treated with Lomexin. The results after 2 stages of treatment reach 77.8% with micostat 7 and 87% with Lomexin. There is no difference about treatment result between these two drugs. There are no side effects in the patients of the two groups. The results suggested that micostat 7 may be an acceptable treatment for candida vaginitis.

10.Bacterial vaginitis infection in pregnant women

The prevalence of Bacterial vaginitis in pregnant women was 7.8%. 42.6% women with Bacterial vaginitis are asymptomatic. Risks associated with Bacterial vaginitis include history of IUD use (OR: 3.41; 95% Cl: 1.65-6.99) and changing pads under three times a day (OR: 2.19; 95% Cl:1.07-4.45). Amoxicillin is effective for treatment of Bacterial vaginitis in pregnant women.
