Objective To study the impacts of bladder filling status on the dosimetric parameters of the target volume and organs at risk (OAR) in intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) for prostate cancer. Methods Ten localized prostate cancer patients without serious complications treated with IMRT were selected for this study. These patients underwent CT scans of the whole pelvic cavity three times in different bladder filling status (empty and injected with 150 ml and 300 ml of normal saline) to obtain three series of pelvic CT images. The three sets of CT images were transferred to the treatment planning system. The target volume and OAR such as the rectum, bladder, and femoral heads were contoured by the same doctor. The treatment planning was performed and optimized by the physicist. The dosimetric parameters of the target volume and OAR in three bladder filling status were subjected to analysis by paired t-test.Results If the bladder filling status was consistent in orientation and radiation, the bladder filling status was not associated with the dosimetric parameters of the target volume and femoral heads (P =0.077-0.998 ; P =0.219-0.969) ;it had significant impacts on the dosimetric parameters of the bladder (P =0.000-0.562) and some dosimetric parameters of the rectum (P =0.000-0.645),and bladder filling was favorable for the protection of the bladder and rectum. If the bladder filling status was not consistent in orientation and actual radiation, the calculated planning target volume, the dosimetric parameters of the bladder, and some dosimetric parameters of the rectum were different from those in actual treatment (P =0.000-0.913).Conclusions For the prostate cancer patients treated with IMRT,it is recommended to keep the bladder well and consistently filled.

Objective Subcutaneous transplantation Lewis lung carcinoma model is commonly used in experimental studies.Researchers often choose different transplantation sites to create the models while little attention was paid on the effect of different inoculation sites on the formation of transplanted tumors. The aim of this study was to compare the effect of tumor cell inoculation at different sites on tumor formation in mice. Methods Lewis lung adenocarcinoma (ll2-luc-m38) cells stably expressing luciferase protein were subcutaneously injected into C57 BL/6 mice at the right armpit, right groin, or footpad, respectively. An IVIS spectrum in vivo imaging system was used to observe the tumor and metastasis formation. The survival time and mortality were recorded.H-E stained pathology was performed to examine the histological changes of the lung tissues and tumor metastesis. Results The tumor formation time was earlier in the armpit and groin groups, both with a tumor formation rate of 100%, while the tumors occurred later, with a tumor formation rate of 33% in the footpad group. The pulmonary metastasis rate was 70% in the groin group, 50% in the ampit group, and 0% in the footpad group, at the 21st day after inoculation. The footpad group had a high mortality. The tumors in the groin group and armpit group can be surgically resected, with a postoperative survival rate of 100%.Conclusions In this mouse model of subcutaneously transplanted Lewis adenocarcinoma, the groin and ampit groups have advantages such as a high tumor formation rate, good tolerance of tumor resection, low surgical mortality rate, easy to monitor, simple operation and high reproducibility. The axillary group has an even higher metastasis rate.

Objective:
To understand the status of dietary behaviors among urban primary school children, to explore the relationship with the family environment in order to provide a basis for adopting the intervention measures and reducing the occurrence of child dietary behavior problems.
Methods:
A questionnaire survey was conducted among 507 children of grade 5 randomized selected through dustering method from 4 in primary schools in Haidian district,as well as their parents.
Results:
About 80.3% of the surveyed children reported the rate of frequency consumptions of vegetables 6-7 days per week. The frequency of consumption of fruits was lower than that of vegetables(67.8%). The frequency of consumption of meat, eggs, milk and beans was lower(the rate of 6-7 days per week was 57.5%,45.3%,60.0%,17.3%, respectively), and the number of children who did not eat beans was the highest(9.9%). The multiple linear regression revealed that parents’ dietary behaviors(β=0.21), parents’ restrictions on snacks(β=0.21), family cohesion(β=0.15), and family monthly income(β=0.13) were promoting factors for children’s good dietary behaviors. The stock of snacks was a risk factor for children’s good dietary behaviors (β=-0.11)(P<0.05).
Conclusion
Dietary behavior of primary school children in urban area was influenced by family environment factors, especially dietary environment in family. Family environment factors could promote children’s dietary behaviors through parental support and modelling. Giving the parents intervention on nutrition and healthy diet, normalizing the family dietary environment are conducive to children’s dietary behaviors.

Journal of Biomedical Engineering 2005;22(2):339-342
Various interference and noises should be eliminated while picking up the signal of fetal heart rate from the Doppler fetal signal in order to obtain smooth curve of the fetal heart Doppler signal and so to figure out the fetal heart rate. In this study, the mean frequency shift curve estimated from the Doppler fetal signals was smoothed using wavelet transform. The results showed that the fetal-heart rate obtained by computing from the autocorrelation waveform based on the smoothed mean frequency shift curve was more accurate than that based on unsmoothed curve.

Journal of Peking University(Health Sciences) 2015;(3):431-436
Objective:To explore the correlation between glycemic control of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) patients and brachial-ankle pulse velocity (baPWV). Methods:A community-based cross-sec-tional study was conducted in Beijing, China. Every subject underwent physical examinations, glycated hemoglobin ( HbA1 c ) , blood lipid and baPWV measurements and completed a standardized question-naire. T2DM patients were divided into well controlled and poorly controlled groups according to HbA1c levels. The correlation between glycemic control of T2DM patients and baPWV was analyzed. Results:In this study, 1 341 subjects were recruited, including 733 T2DM patients and 608 non-diabetes sub-jects. Compared with non-diabetes subjects, abnormal baPWV ( baPWV≥1 700 cm/s) rate for T2DM patients was higher (40. 8% vs. 26. 8%, P<0. 001). With HbA1c<6. 5% or <7. 0% as the aim of glycemic control in T2DM patients, the abnormal baPWV rates for non-diabetes subjects, well controlled and poorly controlled T2DM patients were significantly different (non-diabetes vs. HbA1c<6. 5% T2DM vs. HbA1c≥6. 5% T2DM: 26. 8% vs. 32. 8% vs. 42. 6%, P <0. 001; non-diabetes vs. HbA1c <7. 0% T2DM vs. HbA1c≥7. 0% T2DM:26. 8% vs. 36. 1% vs. 43. 4%, P<0. 001). After being ad-justed for gender, age, smoking status, diabetes mellitus family history, T2DM duration, cardiovascular diseases ( CVD ) , waist hip ratio ( WHR ) , systolic blood pressure ( SBP ) , diastolic blood pressure ( DBP) , total triglycerides ( TG) , high density lipoprotein cholesterol ( HDL-C) , and low density lipo-protein cholesterol ( LDL-C ) , the Logistic regression models suggested that glycemic control status of T2DM patients was associated with abnormal baPWV. Compared with non-diabetes subjects, the ORs for abnormal baPWV in HbA1 c <6 . 5% T2 DM patients and HbA1 c≥6 . 5% T2 DM patients were 0 . 927 (95%CI 0. 560-1. 537) and 1. 826 (95%CI 1. 287-2. 591). Compared with non-diabetes subjects, the ORs for abnormal baPWV in HbA1c<7. 0% T2DM patients and HbA1c≥7. 0% T2DM patients were 1. 210 (95%CI 0. 808-1. 811) and 1. 898 (95%CI 1. 313-2. 745). Conclusion:The glycemic con-trol status of T2DM patients from communities is significantly associated with baPWV. Poor glycemic con-trol is a risk factor for abnormal baPWV. Keeping HbA1c under control might lower the risk of cardiovas-cular diseases in T2DM patients.
