The study of RunX3 in tumor pathogenesis is a rapidly expanding area of cancer research.Functional inactivation of RunX3 is frequently observed in tumors of diverse origins.RunX3 can bind directly to the TGF-β signaling effectors for synergistic induction, enhancing the growth inhibitory effect of TGF-β signal pathway.Additionally,RunX3 can also bind to the complex TCF4-β-catenin in Wnt signal pathway for inhibiting its tumorigenicity.Through the two signal pathway mentioned above,RunX3 can regulate the epithelial mesenchymal transitions process. Moreover, the transcription of claudin-1 can be directly regulated by RunX3.RunX3 has also been described to have an oncogenic function in a subset of tumors, but how RunX3 switches from tumor suppression to oncogenic activity is yet unknown. This review focuses on summarizing the important findings about the mechanism and relative signal pathway of RunX3 in tumor suppression from the articles published recently.

Objective To select the tag SNPs of TLR2 gene in the Chinese population with bioinformatics techniques. Methods We ascertained the assayed scope of the TLR2 gene with the aid of NCBI database and downloaded SNP genotype data of TLR2 gene in the Chinese population from Hapmap database. Then Haploview (version 4.0) was used to calculate linkage disequilibrium (LD) statistics.Haplotype blocks were constructed throughout the TLR2 gene according to the upper and lower 95% confidence bound of the D'value.Meanwhile,we selected the tag SNPs based on r~2 values and the LOD value between SNPs and picked up the representative haplotypes in accordance with the proportion of each haplotype in the haplotype blocks, respectively. Results We constructed 2 haplotype blocks within the TLR2 gene and selected 3 tag SNPs containing 3013 A/G,19216 T/C and 22215 G/T in the Chinese population.Meanwhile,we identified the representative haplotypes of which the tag SNP would be on behalf of every haplotype block. Conclusion The SNPs of 3013 A/G,19216 T/C and 22215 G/T,the most representative SNPs in the whole TLR2 gene in the Chinese population, could be selected as tag SNPs to guide their association studies between the TLR2 gene and sepsis.

Objective To investigate the prevalence of chronic non-communicable diseases among farmers, land less peasants and urban population in a certain area of Anhui Province,to explore the relationship between the lifestyles of landless peasants and their chronic non-communicable diseases. Methods A total of 761 valid questionnaires were collected by cross-sectional epidemiological study, including 119 farmers,259 landless peasants and 383 urban groups. The enumeration data was analyzed by x2 test and the measurement data analyzed by variance. The risk of chronic non-communicable diseases in each group was analyzed by Logistic regressions. Results General demographic characteristics showed that there were differences in three groups of people in the respects of drinking, eating habits and physical activity and other lifestyles (all P < 0.05).Logistic regression analysis showed that the onset risk of hypertension and overweight obesity in the famer group and the landless peasant group was lower than that in the urban group, but higher than that in the peasant group. After adjusting for confounding factors, the prevalence of hypertension in the farmer group (OR =0.20,95% CI:0.12-0.33) and the lost land group (OR =0.65,95% CI:0.44-0.95) was lower than that in the urban group, the overweight obesity in the farmer group (OR =0.44,95% CI:0.27-0.74) and the lost land group(OR =0.67,95% CI:0.47-0.96) was lower than that in the urban group. The incidence of atherosclerosis in the farmer group (OR =2.48,95 % CI:1.45-4.23) and the lost land group(OR =2.00,95% CI:1.33-3.02) was higher than that in the urban group. Conclusions The living style of landless peasants is different from those of rural group and urban group, and the incidence of hypertension and overweight obesity is higher than that of farmers. We should take interventions against chronic non-communicable diseases in landless peasants.
9.Vaginal microbiota transplantation for treatment of bacterial vaginosis: a review.
Chinese Journal of Biotechnology 2021;37(11):3820-3827
Bacterial vaginosis (BV) is a disease caused by vaginal microbiota dysbiosis. The conventional antibiotic treatment can aggravate microbial dysbiosis, alter the acid environment of the vagina and lead to drug resistance, thus shows low cure rate and high recurrence rate. This poses significant physiological and psychological burden to the BV patients. Vaginal microbiota transplantation (VMT) is a novel live biotherapeutic approach. It directly engrafts the whole vaginal microbiota from healthy women to the vaginal tract of patients to rapidly reconstruct the vaginal microbiota environment and restore the vaginal health. This article summarizes the development, present challenges, and future directions of using VMT, with the aim to explore new strategies for treatment of BV and promote the clinical use of VMT.

Purpose:
Oligometastatic non–small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients have been increasingly regarded as a distinct group that could benefit from local treatment to achieve a better clinical outcome. However, current definitions of oligometastasis are solely numerical, which are imprecise because of ignoring the biological heterogeneity caused by genomic characteristics. Our study aimed to profile the molecular alterations of oligometastatic NSCLC and elucidate its potential difference from polymetastasis.
Materials and Methods:
We performed next-generation sequencing to analyze tumors and paired peripheral blood from 77 oligometastatic and 21 polymetastatic NSCLC patients to reveal their genomic characteristics and assess the genetic heterogeneity.
Results:
We found ERBB2, ALK, MLL4, PIK3CB, and TOP2A were mutated at a significantly lower frequency in oligometastasis compared with polymetastasis. EGFR and KEAP1 alterations were mutually exclusive in oligometastatic group. More importantly, oligometastasis has a unique significant enrichment of apoptosis signaling pathway. In contrast to polymetastasis, a highly enriched COSMIC signature 4 and a special mutational process, COSMIC signature 14, were observed in the oligometastatic cohort. According to OncoKB database, 74.03% of oligometastatic NSCLC patients harbored at least one actionable alteration. The median tumor mutation burden of oligometastasis was 5.00 mutations/Mb, which was significantly associated with smoking, DNA damage repair genes, TP53 mutation, SMARCA4 mutation, LRP1B mutation, ABL1 mutation.
Conclusion
Our results shall help redefine oligometastasis beyond simple lesion enumeration that will ultimately improve the selection of patients with real oligometastatic state and optimize personalized cancer therapy for oligometastatic NSCLC.
