The 44 years old male patient had admitted to our clinic with the marked exophthalmos and blindness in his left eye for more than 10 years. The exophthalmometry revealed 10 mm in right and 25mm in left eye. Before operation ultrasonography (A-scan) and phleboorbitography were performed, and retroorbital mass was suspected. Using Kronlein method, lateral orbitotomy was performed on April 11, 1979 and large well encapsulated tumor mass (3.5 x 3 x 3 cm.) was extracted. By pathological study the tumor was confirmed as a carvenous hemangioma. After first operation he had two subsequent operation for the cosmetic problem.

Journal of the Korean Ophthalmological Society 1973;14(2):112-115
The optic canal fracture has been recognized as a clinical entity for quite sometime, and is, by no means, a rare condition. We were aware of it for last several years, and have collected five radiographically proved cases from the records. Interestingly enough, two of these patients were involved in motor-cycle accidents and revealed abrasion over the lateral end of the homolateral eye brow. Only one of these five patients had partial recovery of his vision.

Journal of the Korean Ophthalmological Society 1979;20(3):427-431
Ocular toxoplasmosis is the most frequent etiological factor of the known retinochoroiditis in the world. But there are very few cases of confirmed toxoplasmosis in Korea. In this paper we report a 5 year old girl who had suffered from left visual disturbance since Aug, 1978. The HA. titer for toxoplasmosis was 1:2048 and she had a typical focal exudative retinochoroiditis in the macular lesion and one small daughter lesion on superior temporal retinal arteriolar branch. She was treated with oral acetyl spiramycin(600 mg.) for 6 months. After all the active retinochoroidal lesion was changed into scar tissue and the vision has improved slightly from 0.02 to 0.2 during the followup period of one year. And also the HA. titer had decreased to 1:512. The fluorescein angiographic finding could be a helpful method to determine the healed lesion after anti toxoplasmic theraphy.

5.A Clinical Experience of Acute Ocular Hypotension Caused by Ocular Contusion.

Journal of the Korean Ophthalmological Society 1979;20(2):251-253
After ocular contusion the ocular tension is unstable and may show considerable variation, sometimes being raised, sometimes lowered. But ocular contusion is one of the commonest causes of ocular hypotension, which may be dramatic and indeed, may be the dominant factor in determining the fate of the eye. The lowering ocular tension is slowly attaining its normal height after some variation, that this instability is frequently shared by the uninjured fellow eye. We had experienced a fall in tension-ocular hypotension as 0 mm.Hg. lasting for 13 day by ocular contusion, which was associated with mild anterior uveitis, Descemet's membrane tear, localized angle recession and hypotonic retinal changes, and shared lower ocular tension by the uninjured eye, as l4.6 mmHg. All these acute ocular hypotensive symptoms and signs were recovered 27 days after contusion, but mild Descemet's scar and angle recession with peripheral anterior synechia were remained. The final IOP in both eyes was 18.3 mmHg, and the visual acuity was 20/20.

The effect of acetabular augmentation with bone graft was reviewed in 12 patients with acetabular deficiency in total hip arthroplasty, performed between 1981 and 1984 at Hanyang University Hospital. Follow-up ranged from 12 to 18 months and averaged 23.3 months. Follow-up radiographs were analyzed. Based on radiography, all grafts were regarded as incorporated and equally successful with autogenous and allograft bone. Long-term follow-up evaluation revealed no evidence of progressive radiolucency or graft resorption. There was one sciatic nerve palsy after operation but recovered at 11 months later.

Journal of the Korean Pediatric Society 1978;21(7):557-562
Familial association of gastrointestinal polyposis with mucocutaneous pigmentation was first reportde by Peutz in 1921. Following reemphsis by Jeghers in 1949, it became a definite clinical disease entity known as Peutz-Jeghers syndrome, which is rare disease with about 12cases reported in Korea. This was a report of our experience with two cases of Peutz-Jeghers syndrome, which were diagnosed in a 4 year old boy, who had mucocutaneous pigmentation and multiple polyposis in the whole gastrointestinal tract. Main complaints were abdominal pain and bloody stool in 2 cases. Only one case had familial history whose father had pigmentation on the left flank.

9.Endophthalmitis: Riview of the Literature and Report of Three Cases.

Journal of the Korean Ophthalmological Society 1980;21(4):555-560
In the past decade, a decrease in the incidence of endophthalmitis has been attributed to many factors-surgical technic, delicate surgical Instruments, sterile technic, and antibioticsetc. On the other hand, immunosuppressive agents and drug addiction and/or abuse may be contributing to rise in the number of endophthalmitis like one of our cases. Recently, we have experienced three cases of endophthalmitis, each case has different etiologic causes-multiple myeloma, meningococcal meningitis, and subacute bacterial endocarditis. By case and chart review, we feels not enough to do reemphasize not only early recognition and early aggressive systemic and topical therapy, which are the most necessary, and may prevent blinding complication, more over panophthalmitis, but a certain common ocular symptoms, which may playa role as a early developing sings of endophthalmitis.
