AIM:To contrast analysis of postoperative variation of corneal posterior surface heights after Femtosecond LASlK ( FS - LASlK ) and small incision lenticule extraction ( SMlLE) for high myopia.
●METHODS: Sixty-seven cases of high myopic patients (132 eyes) operated with laser corneal refractive in our hospital from May to Dec. in 2015 (-6. 00D≤spherical equivalent degree≤-10. 00D) were selected and divided into FS-LASlK group and SMlLE group. The thickness of corneal flaps at FS-LASlK and the thickness of map at SMlLE were designed to be 110μm. Corneal posterior surface heights were examined by Pentacam at preoperation, postoperative 3 and 6mo after FS-LASlK and SMlLE operation. Surface height changes after preoperative, postoperative 3 and 6mo were compared by measuring Pentacam corneal analysis system.
●RESULTS: Six months after operation, the FS-LASlK posterior corneal surface height was 6. 47 ± 1. 65mm, significantly higher than 5. 20 ± 1. 32mm before operation. SMlLE posterior corneal surface height was 6. 40 ± 1. 33mm, significantly higher than 5. 18 ± 1. 25mm before operation, the differences were statistically significant( P<0. 05). Six month after surgery, two methods of corneal surface height variation obtained was 1. 29 ± 1. 28mm and 1. 22 ± 0. 89mm, there was no significant difference ( P>0. 05).
●CONCLUSION:After FS-LASlK and SMlLE, the corneal posterior surface is protrusive. FS - LASlK is slightly obvious than SMlLE in early period. The stability of the posterior surface is better after SMlLE.

Objective To investigate the alteration of mast cell(MC)in elderly patients with reflux esophagitis(RE). Methods Twenty eight elderly and 15 non-elderly patients with RE were recruited.Lower esophageal mucosal mast cells and the percentage of degranulated mast cells were countered after immunohistochemieal staining.The ultrastrueture of mast cells was observed by eleetromieroscope. Results The number of mast cells in lower esophageal mucosa in elderly patients with RE was significantly more than that in non-elderly patients with RE(10.24±2.56 VS.5.07±0.18,P＜0.01),and the percentage of degranulated mast cells in lower esophageal mucosa was also significantly higher in elderly patients with RE than in non-elderly patients with RE[(24.7±4.6)%vs.(13.5±5.5)%,P＜0.01].The more severe the esophageal mucosallesions,the more the numberof mast cells. Under the electromicroscopy, more Golgi apparatus, mitochondria and endoplasm-reticulum were found in mast cells.Special secreting particles were also found in cytoplasm,more vacuole were left behind after mast cells degranulation in elderly patients with RE.Conclusions Increased numbers of mast cells and mast cell activation may be involved in the pathogenesis of elderly RE.

AIM: To observe effect of the iris location to femtosecond - combined wavefront guided LASIK for myopia and astigmatism.?METHODS:The patients with astigmatism >1. 0D during the same time and followed up for 1a were selected. A total of 129 eyes in 67 patients were treated under iris location with femtosecond-combined wavefront guided LASIK ( experimental group) and 161 eyes in 82 cases with femtosecond-combined wavefront guided LASIK ( control group) . Laser cutting went with the same laser machine. The uncorrected visual acuity ( UCVA ) , best corrected visual acuity ( BCVA) , and wavefront aberration between the two groups were compared at 1, 3, 6mo and 1a after surgery.?RESULTS:At 1 and 3mo after surgery, the number of patients with better postoperative UCVA than preoperative BCVA between the two group showed a statistically significant difference (χ2=6. 423, P=0. 011,χ2=14. 431, P=0. 01 ); at 1d and 1mo after surgery, the residual astigmatism showed a statistically significant difference between two groups (t=1. 98, P<0. 05; t=2. 23, P<0. 05). At 3, 6mo and 1a after surgery, the differences on the change of residual astigmatism between the two groups weren’t significant ( P > 0. 05 ). At 6mo and 1a after surgery, the differences on UCVA between the two groups weren’t significant ( P > 0. 05 ). Until 1a after surgery, the root mean square ( RMS ) of high order wavefront aberration of the two groups, spherical aberration and coma aberration ( COMA ) were all enhanced compared to before surgery(P<0. 05). At 1, 3mo after surgery, the RMS showed a statistically significant difference between two groups (P<0. 05). At 1, 3, 6mo, 1a after surgery, the increase of COMA in experimental group was significantly lower than that in control group (P<0. 05).? CONCLUSION: Iris location technology applied in femtosecond - combined wavefront guided LASIK for myopia and astigmatism, can make the vision recovery faster, the RMS of high order and COMA increase less, the residual astigmatism less, show better and more stable treatment effect.

Biofilms are microbial communities which are enclosed within a matrix of exopolysaccharides produced by the bacteria,fungi and protozoa growing intimately on a living or inert surfaces.Further researches on bcterial biofilms formation and molecular machines,pathogenic mechanisms (especially drug resistance),detection and treatment maybe provide novel pathways to refractory infections caused by bcterial biofilms.

In order to meet the requirements of cultivating the practical abilities and creativities of students who receive higher education, we initiated the reformation of education in the microbiology experiment teaching methods, implementing a system for module-based education, carefully monitoring every link in teaching, combining the encouragement and strict requirements together, adopting a proper way of assessment. Qigui Tongfeng tablet (QLTFT) is a traditional Chinese medicine with good effect for treating gout. Here, network pharmacology method and molecular similarity analysis were utilized to study the effective substance basis and molecular mechanism of the QLTFT on the gout. The similarity to the medicinal compounds is reflected in the Tanimoto coefficient that gives the structural similarity of two compounds. Operationally, similar modifiers were described as pairs of concepts with a similarity score of 0. 500. The results of the molecular similarity analysis suggested that the flavonoids in QLTFT could be new leads for gout. Furthermore, complex biological systems may be represented and analyzed as computable networks. Two important properties of a network were degree and betweenness. Nodes with high degree or high betweenness may play important roles in the overall composition of a network. And the results of network analysis showed that dongbeinine, verticinone-N-oxide, verticine N-oxide, peimine, peiminine, isobaimonidine, dongbeirine, peimisine and simi-arenol which with high degree acted on xanthine dehydrogenase/oxidase, matrix metalloproteinase-9, an arachidonate 5-lipoxygenase-activating protein, tyrosine-protein kinase and etc. Inhibition of these targets can prevent the formation of uric acid, reduce inflammation by uric acid and regulate the body's immune response. Thus, these compounds may be the main effective substance basis. The research results not only reveals its molecular mechanism, but also provide a theoretical basis for the quality control of drugs and clinical application.

In 2012, the preparation process and quality standard for Guizhi Fuling capsule were improved. To compare the effects and differences of capsules before (2011) and after(2012-2014) the improvement, evaluation models for intrinsic dysmenorrhea, pelvic inflammation and hysteromyoma were applied in rats. Models were induced by oxytocin, liqiud bacteria mixture and estrogen loading, respectively. The capsules (12 batchs/year, 48 bathcs in all), sampled randomly in 2011-2014, the effects were assessed using the three models. In anti-dysmenorrhea models, remarked reduction of writhing frequency, ET-1 and PGF2α content in uterus could be detected, as well as extension of writhing latency. In pelvic inflammation rats, depression of TNF-α and raise of IL-2 were induced by earh batch of capsules. In hysteromyoma model, uterine weight and smooth muscle proliferation, including E2 and P level in plasma, were lowered obviously by all batchs of capsules. Secondly, Guizhi Fuling capsules produced in 2012-2014 revealed better effectiveness than the ones manufactured in 2011. Moreover, pharmacodynamics indexes of the samples made in 2011 differed significantly between groups, which could not be observed in the ones ot 2012-2014. After tne preparation process and quality standard improvement, the effectiveness and homogeneity of Guizhi Fuling capsules were enhanced.

Objective To etiologically diagnose and analyze a patient with suspected cases of brucellosis,and to provide a experimental basis for the confirmation of the first case of human brucellosis in Guizhou province.Methods Conventional and molecular techniques [genus specific Brucella surface protein 31 PCR (BCSP31-PCR)and Brucella suis species-specific PCR (AMOS-PCR)] were used to identify suspicious bacteria strains isolated from the suspected patient of brucellosis.Results The results showed that the Brucella suspicious colonies were identified as Brucella melitensis biotype 3 using conventional tests and were further identified as Brucella spp.by genus specific Brucella surface protein 31 PCR (BCSP31-PCR) and classified as Brucella melitensis with Brucella abortus,Brucella melitensis,Brucella ovis,Brucella suis species-specific PCR(AMOS-PCR).Conclusions Laboratory diagnostic results show that the bacteria strain isolated from the suspected patient of brucellosis is Brucella melitensis biotype 3.It is the first case of human brucellosis in Guizhou province.

OBJECTIVETo compare the effects of mannitol and hypertonic saline (HS) in treatment of intracranial hypertension (ICH) of rabbits.

METHODSThe animal mode of ICH was established by perfusing artificial cerebrospinal fluids (aCSF) with controlled pressure into the cerebral ventricles of rabbits. The mean arterial pressure, respiratory rate, tidal volume, perfusion rate of aCSF and water content of cerebrum were investigated in rabbits with ICH after a single bolus of 20% mannitol (5 ml/kg), 7.5% HS (2.2 ml/kg) or 23.4% HS (2.2 ml/kg).

RESULTSAfter the intracranial pressure was elevated from 15 cmH₂O to 75 cmH₂O, the mean arterial pressure was increased and the tidal volume was decreased. After treatment by 20% mannitol, 7.5% HS or 23.4% HS, the increased percentage of mean arterial pressure and the decreased percentage of tidal volume were similar to the changes in control group. However, the perfusion rate of CSF was increased and water content of cerebrum was decreased after treatment by either 20% mannitol or 23.4% HS, but not by 7.5% HS. No different effects were found between 20% mannitol and 23.4% HS.

CONCLUSIONWith the similar osmotic burden, 20% mannitol is more effective in treating ICH than 7.5% HS. With higher osmotic load, the efficacy of HS is enhanced, and 23.4% HS may be used as an alternative to mannitol in treatment of ICH.
