1.SLIDE MAKING METHODS FOR PREDACIOUS NEMATODE FUNGI
Microbiology 1992;0(01):-
Some problems were settled in making permanent slide for predacious nematode fungi by slide cultivation and cotton blue stain. Method of small-hole culture covered with slides could obtain high quality images, which solved the problem that trapping device couldn't be observed with high-power microscopes and oil-immersion microscopes. Scraping slide technique improved the method of making temporary slides.

OBJECTIVE:To investigate the clinical efficacy and safety of mirtazapine combined with citalopram in the treat-ment of sleep disorder in depressive patients. METHODS:One hundred and sixty-five depressive patients with sleep disorder were selected and divided into control group (82 cases) and treatment group (83 cases) according to random number table. Control group took Escitalopram oxalate tablet 10 mg,once every night, increasing to 20 mg according to disease condition;treatment group was additionally given Mirtazapine tablet 15 mg,once every night, increasing to 30 mg one week later. Both groups re-ceived treatment for consecutive 6 months. HAMD-17 and MADRS were observed in 2 groups before and after treatment, and the sleep quality of 2 groups were evaluated by PSQI before and after treatment;the sleep structure was measured by using polysom-nography before and after treatment;clinical efficacies and the occurrence of ADR were compared between 2 groups. RESULTS:Before treatment, there was no statistical significance in HAMD-17,MADRS and PSQI score, sleep structure between 2 groups (P>0.05);after treatment, above scores and indexes of 2 groups were all improved significantly, and the treatment group was sig-nificantly better than the control group, with statistical significance(P<0.05). Total response rate of treatment group was 97.47%, which was significantly higher than 78.95%of control group, with statistical significance(P<0.05). There was no statistical signif-icance in the incidence of ADR between 2 groups(P>0.05). CONCLUSIONS:Citalopram combined with mirtazapine shows sig-nificant therapeutic efficacy for sleep disorder of depressive patients, and can significantly improve sleep structure, adjust sleep cy-cle and improve sleep quality with good safety.

World Science and Technology-Modernization of Traditional Chinese Medicine 2014;(1):93-97
This study was aimed to observe the intervention effect of oxidation/antioxidation at different time point among mice induced by lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and bleomycin. It provided experimental basis for the establishment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) animal model with qi-deficiency and phlegm-obstructing pattern with inducers mentioned above. A total of 96 mice were randomly divided into the normal control group, bleomycin group, and LPS group, with 32 mice in each group. In the bleomycin group and LPS group, 40 μL of nasal drops were given with bleomycin at the concentration of 3.75 μg/μL or LPS at the concentration of 5 μg/μL, respectively to establish the COPD animal model with qi-deficiency and phlegm-obstructing pattern. On the 1st day, 7th day, 14th day and 28th day after the model establishment, the general status and activities of mice were recorded. And traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) signs such as skin color of the four limbs, skin color under the tongue and color of the tail were also collected when the animal model was sacrificed. At each time point, 8 mice were sacrificed. The lung tissues were removed. And the contents of GSH, MDA, SOD and T-AOC were detected in the homogenate of lung tissues. The results showed that compared with the normal control group, mice in the bleomycin group had slightly dull eyes, dry hair without burnish, upright and fluffy hair, dark purple skin color of the auricle and four claws, tiredness, inactivity, occasional cough, asthma or rapid breathing. The GSH content of lung tissues on the 7th day, 14th day and 28th day was obviously reduced (P< 0.05, or P< 0.01). The MDA, SOD and T-AOC contents on the 1st day, 7th day, 14th day and 28th day were obviously reduced (P< 0.05, or P< 0.01). Compared with the normal control group, mice in the LPS group had slightly dull eyes, soft hair with slight burnish, pale red skin color of the auricle and four claws, tiredness; some mice preferred to gather. Contents of GSH and SOD in lung tissues on the 1st day and 7th day were obviously reduced (P< 0.05, or P< 0.01). Contents of MDA and T-AOC on the 1st day, 7th day and 14th day were obviously reduced (P < 0.05, or P < 0.01). It was concluded that obvious oxidation/antioxidation imbalance started on the 7th day in lung tissues of mice in the bleomycin group. It reduced later on. And the oxidation/antioxidation imbalance continued until the end of the model establishment. Obvious oxidation/antioxidation imbalance started on the 1st day in lung tissues of mice in the LPS group. However, this oxidation/antioxidation imbalance was adjusted back to normal level through time.

Microbiology 1992;0(06):-
Lactose was shown to no less competent than Isopropyl-?-D-thiogalactoside (IPTG) in inducing the expression of the ENHANCIN coding gene from Helicoverpa armigera granulosis virus in Eswcherichia coli BL21 (DE3) regulated by a T7 promoter, since the lactose induction could lead to an ENHANCIN band no smaller than the one in IPTG induction on the SDS-PAGE gel. This would decrease the cost of the large-scale ENHANCIN production. The lactose concentration was optimized at 2.2% - 2.5% (w/v) . Different treatments on the lactose sterilization showed that lactose steam- sterilized in 116. 5℃ for 15min could lead to the ENHANCIN production. The convenience and the relatively low cost in its" operation could further decrease the cost of the ENHANCIN production.

Microbiology 1992;0(05):-
The composition of volatile compounds of soils and that of soil bacterial metabolites were identified by using the SPME-GC/MS method. Results showed that some compounds, trimethylamine, 3-methyl-2-pentanoe, dimethyl disulfide, methyl pyrazine, 2,5-dimethyl-pyrazine, benzaldehyde, N,N-dimethyloctylamine and nonadecane, subsisted commonly in soils and soil bacterial metabolites with strong fungistatic activity. These compounds may be the key antifungal factors in soil fungistasis, especially soil volatile fungistasis. Otherwise, the method used in this study was a good tool for further study of soil volatle fungistasis.
