Objective To investigate the relationship between UCG changes and syndrome-types of chest stuffiness and pains (CSP). Methods All 305 cases were diagnosed as CSP and received coronary angiography and echocardiography (UCG). The relationship between UCG changes and syndrome-types of TCM was analyzed. Results When coronary arteries were normal and with no abnormal ventricular wall movemoment,the proportions of blood-stasis syndrome (BSS) group and phlegm-turbid syndrome (PTS) group were lower,while higher in the condition of coronary arteries strait and with abnormal ventricular wall movemoment. BSS and PTS were significantly higher in the group with coronary arteries strait and abnormal diastolic function of left ventricle than in the group with no coronary arteries strait. There was no significantlly different symdrome-types distributing between normal and abnormal left ventricle systolic function group. EF was lower in Qi-stagnation syndrome (QSS) group than non-QSS group. FS was lower in Yang-deficiency syndrome (YDS) group than in non-YDS group,the same condition in PTS group and non-PTS group. Conclusion There was no significantly value of dignosing syndrome-types of chest stuffiness and pains in the use of UCG.

Objective Studying the expression of the Nogo(N\|18) in olfactory ensheathing cells(OECs) to investigate the functional relationship between Nogo and the OECs in promoting the regeneration of neurite axon. Methods The expression of the Nogo(N\|18) in the primary cultured ensheathing cells from olfactory bulb of the adult rats was studied with the method of immunocytochemical staining and double\|immunofluorescence staining examed under the confocal laser scanning microscope. Results The Nogo\|A protein was located in primary cultured ensheathing cells from the olfactory bulb.The protein was mainly distributed in the cytoplasm.The member and processes were less stained.Conclusion\ The ensheathing cells in vitro contain Nogo protein.It suggests that Nogo protein is not a depressive factor in the axon regeneration of olfactory system.\;[

Objective To investigate the effect of bFGF on the proliferation of olfactory epithelium ensheathing cells. Methods With BrdU incorporation method,the effect of bFGF on the proliferating rate of olfactory epithelium ensheathing cells was observed in the research. Results The olfactory epithelium ensheathing cells can proliferate without any proliferating factor.The bFGF(10?g/L)can enhance the proliferating rate in a moderate way.In this experiment BPE(bovine pituitary extract) can not enhance the stimulating effect of bFGF.Conclusion The bFGF(10?g/L)can stimulate the proliferating rate of the olfactory epithelium ensheathing cells in vitro.

Objective To explore the feasibility of coelocentesis in prenatal diagnosis.Methods Coelocentesis were applied on 58 women scheduled for at 6～12 weeks of gestation,and fetal heart rate before the procedure and 1,5,30 minutes afterwards and hemorrhage of amnionic cyst was observed.Y gene of sex-determining region was detected by polymerase chain reaction,and compared with chorionic villi sample.Results The total achievement ratio of coelocentesis was 96.6% of all cases in five minutes.The coelomic fluid was successfully aspirated at first attempt in 93.2% at 7～10 week's gestation,25.0% at 6～7weeks and 50.0% at 10 ~ 12 weeks.There was no significant difference in FHR between before coelocentesis and afterwards (P＞0.05).The detection accurate rate of SRY was 91.1%,all female fetus were matched with those observation by chorionic villi sampling,and only 5 male fetus were not matched,the accurate rate was 80.8%.Conclusion Coclocentesis has the advantage of simple procedure,safe and high feasibility.The optimal time of coclocentesis is in the 7th to 10th week of gestation.

Objective To explore the role of Beclin 1 and PTEN in gastric caicinoma genesis and the effects on prognosis.Methods The expression of Beclin 1 and PTEN in 199 gastric caicinoma specimens and corresponding adjacent noncancerous tissues were examined by tissue microarrays and immunohistochemistary,and the relation with gastric cancer was analyzed.The rate of Beclin 1 and PTEN expression in 15 fresh gastric carcinoma samples and corresponding adjacent noncancerous tissues were detected by Western blot.All the samples were from Changzheng Hospital.Results The Results of immunohistochemistary showed that the rates of Beclin 1 and PTEN positive expression in cancinoma tissues were 47.2％ (94/199) and 55.8％ (111/199),both were lower than that of adjacent noncancinoma tissues (94.5％,188/199 and 92.5％,184/199; P ＜ 0.01).The lower expression of Beclin 1 and PTEN in gastric carcinoma were associated with gender,differentiation degree,depth of tumor invasion,lymph node metastases and disease stage(P＜0.05).There was a positive correlation between Beclin 1 and PTEN expression in gastric carcinoma tissues (r =0.680,P＜0.01). The survival analysis indicated that Beclin 1 and PTEN were independent factors in determining the prognosis of gastric cancinoma patients.The 5-year survival rate of Beclin 1 positive patients was 67.0％ (63/94),and of negative patients was 33.3％ (35/105).The 5-year survival rate of PTEN positive patients was 71.2％ (79/111),and of negative patients was 21.6％ (19/88) ( all P＜0.001).The Results of Western blot indicated that the expression of Beclin 1 and PTEN in gastric carcinoma tissues were significantly lower than that in the adjacent noncarcinoma tissues ( all P＜0.001).Conclusion The abnormal expression of Beclin 1 and PTEN may be related to carcinogenesis and the development of gastric carcinoma.

Background As one of the most common microvascular complication of diabetes in eyes,diabetic retinopathy (DR) is one of the most important cause of blindness.Nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-κB) is involved in the occurrence and development of the disease through the activation of a series of inflammatory cytokines.Objective The present study was to investigate the effects of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-gamma (PPAR-γ) excitomotor,rosiglitazone,on NF-κB expression and apoptosis of the retinal ganglion cells (RGCs) in the retina with diabetes mellitus. Methods Ninety SPF male Wistar rats were randomized into normal control group,diabetic control group and rosiglitazone group.Diabetes mellitus was induced by intraperitoneal injection of 50 mg/kg streptozotocin(STZ).Then 3 mg/kg rosiglitazone was intragastricly administered once per day in the rosiglitazonegroup,and the same volume of saline solution was used at the same way in the normal control group and diabetic control group from 3 days after modeling.The rats were sacrificed and the eye cups specimen was made at 4,8 and 12 weeks after usage of drugs.Retinal histopathological examination was performed by hematine-eosin staining,and expression of NF-κB p65 protein in retina and apoptotic index(AI) of RGCs were detected by immunohistochemistry and TUNEL assay,respectively in different time points mentioned above.The use of the animals complied with the Regulations for the Administration of Affairs Concerning Experimental Animals by State and Technology Commission.Results The blood glucose level was significantly elevated at various time points in the diabetic control group and rosiglitazone group compared with normal control group (P＜0.01 ),and that of the rosiglitazone group was significantly declined in comparison to the diabetic control group (q =0.81,0.82,1.23,P＞ 0.05 ).Normal retinal structure was seen in the normal control group,and edema retinal cell and disorder of retinal layers were exhibited in the diabetic control group.Retinal structure was almost normal in the rosiglitazone group.The NF-κB p65 was expressed weakly in the retina of normal control group,but the expression of NF-κB p65 was significantly elevated in the diabetic control group and rosiglitazone group compared with the normal control group(P＜0.01 ).However,the expression of NF-κB p65(A value)was significantly decreased in the rosiglitazone group compared with diabetic control group at 8 weeks and 12 weeks( q=17.77,15.30,P＜0.01 ).There were a few apoptotic cells in rat retina of the normal control group.Compared with the normal control group,the AI of the diabetic control group and rosiglitazone group was significantly reduced(P＜0.01 ).However,the AI of RGCs in the rosiglitazone group was significantly lower than that of diabetic control group in various time points (q =19.28,27.39,49.92,P＜0.01 ). Conclusions As one of the PPAR-γexcitomotors,rosiglitazone can inhibit apoptosis of RGCs through downregulating the expression of NF-κB in rat retina with diabetes mellitus,indicating a protective effect of rosiglitazone on retina in diabetic rat.

AIMTo study the effect of proanthocyanidins on the COX-2 enzyme activity and COX-2 protein expression in LPS-induced RAW264.7 cells.

METHODSAfter being pretreated with different concentrations of proanthocyanidins for 30 min, and then 1 mg x L(-1) LPS for 9 h, the effect of proanthocyanidins on the activity of COX-2 enzyme in RAW264.7 cells was analysed by radioimmunoassay (RIA). After being pretreated with different concentrations of proanthocyanidins for 30 min, and then 1 mg x L(-1) LPS for 9 h, the effects of proanthocyanidins on the expressions of COX-2 mRNA and protein in RAW264.7 cells were analysed by RT-PCR and Western blotting.

RESULTSThe activity of COX-2 enzyme was not inhibited by proanthocyanidins (0. 8, 4 and 20 mg x L(-1), P > 0.05 vs LPS group), but the activity of COX-2 enzyme was significantly inhibited by 10 micromol x L(-01) NS-398 (P < 0.01 vs LPS group). The expression of COX-2 mRNA was inhibited by proanthocyanidins (0. 8, 4 and 20 mg x L(-1)). The expression of COX-2 protein was inhibited by proanthocyanidins (4 and 20 mg x L(-1)).

CONCLUSIONProanthocyanidins had no effect on the activity of COX-2 enzyme in LPS-induced RAW264. 7 cells. Proanthocyanidins inhibited significantly the expression of COX-2 mRNA and protein in LPS-induced RAW264.7 cells.

ObjectiveTo assess the effect of PM2.5 on sympathetic innervation and the relationship with cardiac nerve growth factor in healthy rat hearts,identify the ability to the sympathetic nerve reconstruction,and explore the possible arrhythogenic mechanism of PM2.5.MethodsForty healthy SD rats were instilled into trachea with two different solutions twice per week for four weeks:control group with saline and experimental group with PM2.5 25 mg/kg.Then these rats were killed,and biatrial appendages,two ventricular anterior walls were left.Immune cytochemical staining of cardiac nerves was performed using anti-tyrosine hydroxylase antibodies and cardiac nerve growth factor was detected by western blotting.ResuitsCompared with the control group,both the density of sympathetic nerves and the expression of cardiac NGF protein in the experimental group were much higher in the left ventricular anterior wall ( P＜0.01 and P＜0.05) and in the right ventricular anterior wall ( P＜0.01 and P＜0.05).ConclusionsPM2.5 can induce regional sympathetic hyperinnervation in both ventricular anterior walls in healthy rats by stimulating the NGF protein secretion,and the sympathetic nerve reconstruction effect of PM2.5 was confirmed.

Objective To assess the safety and efficacy of radiofrequency ablation (RFA) for the treatment of large (≥5 cm in diameter) hepatic hemangiomas.Methods Clinical data of 50 patients with large hepatic hemangiomas (≥5 cm in diameter) treated with RFA between October 2007 and December 2012 were analyzed.Patients were divided into two groups (5-10 cm and ≥ 10 cm) according to tumor size.Results Thirty-two patients had 36 hemangiomas of 5-10 cm in diameter and 18 patients had 19 hemangiomas of ≥ 10 cm in diameter.Technical success,complications related to RFA,completed ablation,symptom relief,change in size of ablation zone and recurrence of the residual tumor were analyzed.The average diameters of the two groups were 7.1 ± 1.2 cm and 13.2-± 2.4 cm separately (t =-12.57,P ＜ 0.01) ; the technical achievement ratios of the two groups were both 100％ ; Seven of 32 patients with hemangiomas 5-10 cm and all the 18 patients with hemangiomas ≥ 10 cm had 13 and 61 complications related to RFA,the incidence of complications were 21.88％ and 100％ respectively (x2 =28.13,P ＜ 0.01); 94.55％ hemangiomas (52/55) acquired complete ablation,the complete ablation rates of 5-10 cm hemangiomas and ≥10 cm hemangiomas were 100％ (36/36) and 84.21％ (16/19) respectively (P =0.014).The mean diameters of ablation zone were respectively decreased to 5.3 ± 1.0 cm and 10.62±1.8 cm (t =-14.30,P ＜0.01).Conclusions RFA for hepatic hemangiomas 5-10 cm in diameter is safe and effective; while its complication for ablation of hemangiomas ≥ 10 cm is high.
