Objective To observe the distribution of TCM syndromes in patients with functional constipation (FC). Methods One hundred and five cases of patients with FC were analyzed with relevant factors and summarized to syndromes of FC by cluster analysis. Results There was a correlation between distribution of syndromes of FC and patient's age, job occupation, course of disease, incentives and patient's eating habits. The distribution of syndromes analyzed by cluster analysis was consistent with diagnostic criteria. Conclusion The syndromes of FC are divided into heat constipation, qi constipation, deficiency constipation and cold constipation. Among these syndromes, the number of excess constipation patients especially heat constipation is more than the number of others.

Objective To investigate the histomorphology,cellular biocompatibility in vitro and tensile force resistance property of fibrin-binding amniotic membrane(FBAM)and to explore its feasibility and superiority using as ocular surface graft.Methods After observing the morphology of FBAM under light microscope and scanning electron microscope,we did primary culture of corneal epithelial cells,taking monolayer fibrin-binding amniotic membrane as carrier,then observed cell growth overlay area.The elongation nature of FBAM was tested on electronic universal testing machine by calculating elastic modulus,using bilayer amniotic membrane(BAM)and monolayer amniotic membrane(MAM)as controls.Results The fresh FBAM was integrated as a whole,with structurally complete fibrin and amniotic membrane as well as tight binding of fibrin to amniotic membrane.The reserved FBAM was structurally complete,brittler than the fresh FBAM,while amniotic membrane still bound tightly to the fibrin,but under microscope the fiber reticular formation was fairly fuzzy.Single layer of epithelial cells was formed on FBAM after about seven-day culture in vitro.Disparity of cell growth overlay area was significant(P

Background Epipolis laser in situ keratomihusis(Epi-LASIK) is an potential surgery for myopia because it synthesize advantages of LASEK and LASIK. But its clinical effectiveness and safeness is remarkable.Objective This study was to evaluate the clinical curative effects and safeness of Epi-LASIK for myopia in different diopter of population. Methods Retrospective study was designed for 208 eyes of 104 patients who underwent EpiLASIK for the correction of myopia. The patients were divided into two groups according to preoperative diopter:lower myopia group( ≤ -6.00 D, 111 eyes) and high myopia group ( ＞-6.00 D,97 eyes). The time of epithelial healing, postoperative syndrome, postoperative visual acuity, refraction, intraocular pressure (IOP) , the safe index, the efficacy index and haze were evaluated at 1,3,6,12 months postoperatively. The written informed consent was obtained from each individual before surgery. Results After operation, 20 eyes ( 18.02% ) of lower myopia group and 29 eyes (29.90%) of high myopia group had obvious pain, presenting statistically significant difference between two groups (X2 = 4. 060, P＜0.05 ). The mean time of epithelial healing was (5.49±0. 83 )days in lower myopia group and (5.85± 0.68 )days in high myopia group with a delayed epithelial healing time in high myopia group( u= 3. 377 ,P＜0.05 ).One year after the treatment,the uncorrected visual acuity( UCVA ) ≥ 1. 0 was 90. 99% ( 101 eyes) in lower myopia group and 75.26% ( 73 eyes) in high myopia group, and 9.91% ( 11 eyes) and 15.46% ( 16 eyes) of the eyes improved byl line or more in best spectacle corrected visual acuity(BCVA) ;whereas 3.60% (4 eyes)and 6. 18% (6 eyes)lost a line or more. 91.89% ( 102 eyes) and 85.57% (83 eyes) in both groups gained within 1.00 D of the attempted correction. The safety index and efficacy index were 1.04 and 0. 98 in lower myopia group,and 1. 01 and 0. 96 in high myopia group without statistically significant difference( P＞0. 05 ). haze occurred in 6 eyes in lower myopia group and 9 eyes in high myopia group and the difference in haze grading was not statistically significant between two groups ( P＞0. 05 ). The high intraocular pressure appeared in 10 eyes and 9 eyes in low myopia group and high myopia group respectively during the fellow up duration and back to normal after topical use of timolol. Conclusion Epi-LASIK is an effective and safe method for correction of different diopters of myopia because of its mild symptom and lower incidence of haze.

Objective To analyse the effect of 70 pearl flavor pill associating with acupuncture on nerve function in acute cerebral infarction patients.Methods A total of 128 patients with acute cerebral infarction were enrolled in this study in our hospital from January 2015 to June 2016 and randomly divided into two group.Two groups were treated with routine treatment,the observation group was treated another with 70 pearl flavor pill combined with acupuncture program.Results The total effective of observation group was 92.19%,higher than that of control group 75.00%(P<0.05).After treatment,NIHSS score,FMA motor function score,Serum S-100βprotein,hs-CRP level of observation group were better than that of control group (P<0.05).Conclusion 70 pearl flavor pill associating with acupuncture on the basis of routine treatment can improve hemorheology,reduce inflammation and improve the therapeutic effect and it has no obvious side effects.

Objective To evaluate the effect of pretreatment with nerve growth factor-beta (NGF-β) on ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) injury in isolated rat hearts by comparing it with NGF-β preconditioning.Methods Pathogen-free male Sprague-Dawley rats,weighing 200-300 g,aged 8-10 weeks,were anesthetized with intraperitoneal 10％ chloral hydrate 300 mg/kg.Their hearts were excised and perfused in a Langendorff apparatus with KH solution aerated with 95％ O2 and 5％ CO2 at 37℃.Twenty-four isolated rat hearts were randomly divided into 3 groups (n =8 each) using a random number table:I/R group,NGF-β pretreatment group (group NGFPt) and NGF-β preconditioning group (group NGFPc).The hearts were perfused with K-H solution for 10 min (equilibration) in each group.In group I/R,the hearts were continuously perfused with K-H solution for 30 min.The hearts were continuously perfused with K-H solution containing NGF 0.1 μg/ml for 20 min before ischemia in group NGF-Pt.The hearts were continuously perfused with K-H solution containing NGF 0.1 μg/ml for 20 min followed by 10 min washout before ischemia in group NGFPc.The perfusion was suspended for 30 min followed by 120 min of reperfusion with K-H solution in each group.HR,left ventricular end-diastolic pressure (LVEDP),left ventricular developed pressure (LVDP) and + dp/dtmax were measured at the end of 10 min equilibration (baseline,T1),immediately before suspension of perfusion (T2),and at 5,30,60 and 120 min of reperfusion (T3-6).The activities of creatine kinase isoenzyme-MB (CK-MB) and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) in coronary effluent were measured at T1 and T3-6.Myocardial specimens were obtained at T6 for detection of myocardial apoptosis (by TUNEL) and for microscopic examination.Apoptotic index (AI) was calculated.Results Compared with the baseline value at T1,+ dp/dtmax was significantly decreased,and LVEDP and activities of CK-MB and LDH were increased at T3-6 in each group,LVDP and HR were decreased at T3-6 in group I/R,LVDP was decreased at T3,4 in group NGFPt and at T3-6 in group NGFPc,and HR was increased at T2-6 in NGFPt and NGF Pc groups (P ＜ 0.05).Compared with group I/R,LVDP,+ dp/dtmax and HR were significantly increased and LVEDP and activities of CK-MB and LDH and AI were decreased in NGFPt and NGFPc groups (P ＜ 0.05).Compared with group NGFPc,LVDP,+ dp/dtmax and HR were significantly increased,while the LDH activity and AI were decreased (P ＜ 0.05) and no significant changes were found in LVEDP and CK-MB activity in group NGFPt (P ＞ 0.05).The pathologic changes of myocardium were significantly reduced in NGFPt and NGFPc groups as compared with I/R group.Conclusion Pretreatment with 0.1 μg/ml NGF-β attenuates I/R injury in isloated rat hearts,and the efficacy is superior to that of NGF-β preconditioning.

ObjectiveTo investigate the effect of cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) on the secretory function of islet cells in rabbits.MethodsTwenty adult New Zealand white rabbits of both sexes,weighing 2.5-3.0kg,were randomly divided into 2 groups ( n =10 each):sham operation group (group S) and CPB group.The rabbits were anesthetized with 3％ pentobarbital sodium 30 mg/kg.Blood samples were collected from the left femoral artery at 5 min after anesthesia (T1),immediately before CPB (T2 ),immediately after aortic clamping (T3 ),and at 5,35 and 75 min after aortic unclamping (T4-6) in the two groups for determination of levels of blood glucose,insulin and glucagons.Insulin resistance index was calculated.ResultsCompared with group S,the blood glucose concentration and levels of insulin and glucagons and insulin resistance index at T3-6 were significantly increased in group CPB ( P ＜ 0.05).ConclusionAlthough increase in blood glucose enhances the secretion of insulin in islet β cells,hyperglycemia cannot be compensated completely by the increased insulin during CPB in rabbits.The increase in blood glucose may be related to islet α cell resistance.

Objective To investigate the effects of preconditioning with different concentrations of nerve growth factor (NGF)-β on ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) injury in isolated rat hearts.Methods Thirty-two male Sprague-Dawley rats weighing 200-300 g,aged 8-10 weeks,were anesthetized with intraperitoneal 10％ chloral hydrate 300 mg/kg and heparin 500 IU/kg.Their hearts were excised and perfused in a Langendorff apparatus with K-H solution oxygenated with 95％ O2-5％ CO2 at 37 ℃.After 10 min of stabilization,the isolated hearts were randomly divided into 4 groups (n=8 each): I/R group and different concentrations of NGF-β groups (groups N1-N3).In group I/R,the hearts were continuously perfused with K-H solution for 30 min,perfusion was suspended for 30 min followed by 120 min reperfusion.In groups N1-N3,the hearts were continuously perfused with K-H solution containing NGF-β0.1,0.2 and 0.4 ng/ml,respectively,for 20 min,followed by 10 min washout,and perfusion was suspended for 30 min followed by 120 min reperfusion.HR,Left ventricular end-diastolic pressure (LV-EDP),left ventricular developed pressure (LVDP) and + dp/dtmax were measured at the end of 10 min stabilization (baseline,T1),immediately before suspension of perfusion (T2),and at 5,30,60 and 120 min of reperfusion (T3-6).The activities of creatine kinase MB (CK-MB) and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) in the coronary effluent were measured at T1 and T3-T6.Myocardial tissues were obtained at T6 for detection of apoptosis (by TUNEL) and for microscopic examination.Apoptotic index (AI) was calculated.Results Compared with the baseline value at T1,LVDP and + dp/dtmax were significantly decreased,and LVEDP and activities of LDH and CK-MB were significantly increased at T3-T6 in each group,HR was significantly decreased in groups I/R,N2 and N3,while HR was significantly increased in group N1 (P ＜ 0.05).Compared with group I/R,LVDP,+ dp/dtmax and HR were significantly increased,LVEDP,activities of LDH and CK-MB and AI were significantly decreased in group N1,LVDP,+ dp/dtmax and HR were significantly decreased,and activities of LDH and CK-MB were significantly increased in group N2,and LVDP,+ dp/dtmax and HR were significantly decreased,and LVEDP,activities of LDH and CK-MB and Al were significantly increased in group N3 (P ＜ 0.05).LVDP,+ dp/dtmax and HR were significantly lower,and LVEDP,activities of LDH and CK-MB and AI were significantly higher in groups N2 and N3 than in group N1,and in group N3 than in group N2 (P ＜ 0.05).The pathologic changes were reduced in group N1 compared with I/R,N2 and N3 groups.Conclusion Preconditioning with the optimum concentration of NGF-β can at-tenuate I/R injury in isolated rat hearts,however,the injury can be aggravated when the concentration is too large,and inhibition of apoptosis in myocardial cells is involved in the mechanism of myocardial protection.

Objective To evaluate the effect of leptin on K17 expression in HaCaT human keratinocytes.Methods Some cultured HaCaT cells were treated with leptin (100 ng/ml) or remained untreated for 24 hours followed by the quantification of K17 mRNA expression by real-time PCR and detection of K17 protein expression by Western blot and immunofluorescence staining.To investigate the action mechanism of leptin,some cultured HaCaT cells were divided into several groups to be treated with leptin (100 ng/ml) alone,Piceatannol (an inhibitor of the STAT3 pathway) + leptin (100 ng/ml),PD-98059 (an inhibitor of the Erk1/2 pathway) + leptin (100 ng/ml),respectively for 24 hours,with the cells receiving no treatment as the negative control.Subsequently,the mRNA and protein expressions of K17 were measured by the above methods.Statistical analysis was done by the two-sample ttest.Results The mRNA expression of K17 was significantly higher in HaCaT cells treated with leptin alone than in those remaining untreated (3.086 7 ± 0.186 1 vs.1.000 0 ± 0.000 0,P ＜ 0.01),but significantly downregulated in HaCaT cells treated with Piceatannol + leptin and those with PD-98059 + leptin compared with those treated leptin alone (0.674 1 ± 0.060 0 and 0.855 0 ± 0.390 3 vs.2.242 7 ± 0.188 7,both P ＜ 0.01).The results of Western blot and immunofluorescence staining were in agreement with those of real-time PCR.Conclusions Leptin can induce K17 expression in HaCaT cells,likely by activating the STAT3 and Erk1/2 signaling pathways.
