1.The characteristics of attentional bias in high anxiety sensitivity individuals

Objective To investigate the characteristics and mechanisms of attentional bias in anxiety sensitivity individuals.Methods By using Anxiety Sensitivity Index (ASI),23 participants were included in the high score group and 20 participants were included in the low score group.Then,2 (between-subject factor:the high and low score group) ×2 (within-subject factor:the positive and negative picture) mixed design experiments were adopted.Emotional faces picture pairs were chosen as stimuli.Picture pairs were presented 100 ms in experiment 1 and 1 250 ms in experiment 2.Dot-probe task was adopted to inspect the attentional bias and the response time and correct rate were recorded.Results Experiment 1 implied the main effect of type of pictures was found in mixed design experiments(F(1,41)=4.40,P<0.05).The reaction time of two groups in positive pictures was greater than zero((12.22±30.24) ms vs (10.07±21.55) ms).It showed input effect to positive pictures.An input effect due to the reaction time of the high score group was greater than zero to negative pictures((4.81± 17.88)ms),while the low score group tended to avoid the negative pictures ((-6.81 ±21.33) ms).Experiment 2 implied positive score was not significant between two groups (F(1,41) =0.29,P>0.05).And positive score showed the attentional bias to some certain extent.Significant outcome was found by negative score between two groups (F(1,41) =6.41,P<0.05).It implied that the high score group tended to avoid the negative pictures and the low score group had the tendency of input effect.Conclusion At the initial stage of attention,anxiety sensitivity individuals had the attentional bias to negative emotional faces and avoidance in the late stage of attention.It suggests that the attentional bias of anxiety sensitivity individuals may have an important effect on the development of the mental disorders.
2.Maxillary sinus floor augmentation using gene-enhanced tissue engineered bone.

OBJECTIVETo evaluate the effect of maxillary sinus elevation with gene-enhanced tissue engineering bone in dogs.
METHODSbone marrow stromal cells (BMSC) derived from dog marrow were cultured, and transduced with the adenovirus carrying bone morphogenetic protein-2 (BMP-2) gene (AdBMP-2), the adenovirus carrying green fluorescent protein (GFP) gene (AdGFP) in vitro. The bone formation ability of gene modified BMSC with scaffold was examined in nude mice and in elevated maxillary sinus of dog. Student's t-test was used for statistical analysis with SPSS 11.0 software package.
RESULTSGene transfection efficiency reached up to (83.95 ± 2.43)% as demonstrated by GFP expression. Ectopic bone formation was detected in nude mice. As for maxillary sinus floor elevation in a dog model, new bone formation area in the AdBMP-2 gene transduced BMSC with Bio-Oss group was significantly higher than in BMSC with Bio-Oss group at 120 d (P < 0.05).
CONCLUSIONSAdBMP-2 gene transduced BMSC can stimulate ectopic bone formation in nude mice, and promote bone formation and maturation in the dog maxillary sinus.

3.Experimental study of maxillary sinus lifting with tissue engineered bone.

OBJECTIVETo evaluate the effect of tissue engineering bone in maxillary sinus lifting.
METHODSThe marrow stromal stem cells of dog were cultured in DMEM containing 100 m1/L fetal bovine serum and induced to differentiate to osteoblasts, which were then inoculated together with Bio-Oss for 5 days. Sixteen dog's bilateral maxillary sinus were elevated. One side was grafted with a compound of BMSC and Bio-Oss and the other side grafted with Bio-Oss alone. The samples were studied by gross, CT, histomorphology and histomorphometrical analysis at the 30th, 90th day after the operation. t-test was used for statistical analysis.
RESULTSIn gross view and CT, new bone formation was observed in all maxillary sinus after 30 and 90 days respectively. Histomorphometrical analysis showed much more new callus in BMSC-Bio-Oss group than in Bio-Oss group (P < 0.05).
CONCLUSIONSA better effect of new bone formation could be obtained with tissue engineered bone in maxillary sinus lifting.

4.Efficacy comparison of neoadjuvant radiotherapy with or without chemotherapy for locally advanced rectal cancer.

OBJECTIVETo evaluate the efficacy of neoadjuvant radiotherapy alone versus chemoradiotherapy in patients with mid-low locally advanced rectal cancer.
METHODSData of 69 patients with advanced (stage T(3) or T(4)) rectal cancer, undergone neoadjuvant therapy in our hospital from October 1997 to October 2007, were analyzed retrospectively. Forty patients received preoperative radiotherapy (50 Gy in 25 fractions over 5 weeks) alone (RT group), and 29 patients received preoperative radiotherapy concomitant with 5-FU/leucovorin -based preoperative chemoradiotherapy (CRT group). Radical surgery was performed 4-6 weeks after radiation therapy by the rule of TME.
RESULTSAll the patients underwent operations, including 26 abdominoperineal resections, 27 anterior resections, 10 Parks operations and 6 Hartmann's procedures. The sphincter preservation rate was 47.5%(19/40) in RT group, and 62.1%(18/29) in CRT group(P>0.05). In pathological findings, tumor and nodal downstaging were observed in 12 patients of RT group (30.0%), and 17 of CRT group (58.6%)(P<0.05). In RT group, 3 patients (7.5%) showed pathological complete regression (pCR), and the overall response rate (CR plus PR) was 60%(24/40). In CRT group, 4(13.8%) showed pCR and the overall response rate was 79.3%(23/29). There was significant difference of the overall response rate between two groups. Three-year disease-free survival for all patients was 77.3%.
CONCLUSIONFor patients with locally advanced rectal cancer, neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy provides higher sphincter preservation rate, overall response rate and better down-staging as compared to radiotherapy alone.

5.Lumbar interspinous non-fusion techniques: comparison between Coflex™ and Wallis.

OBJECTIVETo compare the short-term clinical outcome of non-fusion techniques using interspinous implantation Coflex(TM) and Wallis treatment in patients with lumbar spine degenerative diseases.
METHODSForty-one cases of lumbar stenosis, 18 of lumbar disc herniation, and 34 of lumbar stenosis with lumbar disc herniation were evaluated. Among the 43 cases receiving Coflex(TM) implantation, 41 had operations in one segment and 2 in 2 segments. In the other 50 cases with Wallis implantation, 47 had fixation of 1 segment and 3 had 2 segments fixed. JOA Score, Oswestry Disable Index (ODI) and VAS were used to evaluate the short-term clinical results.
RESULTSThe average operating time was 64.55 min in Coflex(TM) implantation with an average blood loss of 81.82 ml. The average operating time was 82.71 min in Wallis implantation, which caused an average blood loss of 89.66 ml. Significant improvements in the JOA Score, ODI and VAS were noted after the operations.
CONCLUSIONThe two interspinous non-fusion techniques, Coflex and Wallis, produce good short-term clinical outcome in the treatment of lumbar spine degenerative diseases.

6.Construction of the eukaryotic expression vector with IL-2 gene and VP2 gene of PPV and research on immunogenicity.

To construct gene vaccine of PPV and to investigate the effects of interleukin 2 (IL-2) as an adjuvant on immune responses in mouse, the recombinant expression plasmid of pCIneo-IL2-VP2 was constructed and transfected into PK-15 cells by lipofectamine, the expressed product was detected by immunofluore assay. To study the immune effects of DNA vaccine in vitro and in vivo, mice were used as the animal model. The recombinant plasmid pCIneo-IL2-VP2, the control plasmid pCI-neo and the PPV live vaccine were immunized by intramuscular injection. Anti-PPV antibodies were measured by ELISA, lymphocyte proliferation activity was detected using MTT method, and the specific killing activities of CTL were assayed too. The results show that the immunized mice produced PPV antibody after one week, and reached to highest after four weeks. Compared with the control group, the pCIneo-IL2-VP2 immunized group produced significant differences in the antibody titers, the lymphocyte proliferation activity and the specific killing activities of CTL. The pCIneo-IL2-VP2 induced humoral and cellular immunity responses similarly to that the live vaccine induced. These results manifested that the PPV DNA vaccine successfully induced humoral and cellular immunity response in mice with the IL-2 gene as an adjuvant.

OBJECTIVETo prepare and characterize polyelectrolyte multilayer film coated microbubbles for use as ultrasound contrast agent (UCA) and evaluate its effects in ultrasonic imaging on normal rabbit's liver parenchyma.
METHODSPerfluorocarbon (PFC)-containing microbubbles (ST68-PFC) were prepared by sonication based on surfactant (Span 60 and Tween 80). Subsequently, the resulting ST68-PFC microbubbles were coated using oppositely charged polyelectrolytes by microbubble-templated layer-by-layer self-assembly technique via electrostatic interaction. The enhancement effects in ultrasonic imaging on normal rabbit's liver parenchyma were assessed.
RESULTSThe obtained microbubbles exhibited a narrow size distribution. The polyelectrolytes were successfully assembled onto the surface of ST68-PFC microbubbles. In vivo experiment showed that polyelectrolyte multilayer film coated UCA effectively enhanced the imaging of rabbit's liver parenchyma.
CONCLUSIONSThe novel microbubbles UCA coated with polyelectrolyte multilayer, when enabled more function, has no obvious difference in enhancement effects compared with the pre-modified microbubbles. The polymers with chemically active groups (such as amino group and carboxyl group) can be used as the outermost layer for attachment of targeting ligands onto microbubbles, allowing selective targeting of the microbubbles to combine with desired sites.

8.Determination of soluble solid content and acidity of loquats based on FT-NIR spectroscopy.

The near infrared (NIR) spectroscopy technique has been applied in many fields because of its advantages of simple preparation, fast response, and non-destructiveness. We investigated the potential of NIR spectroscopy in diffuse reflectance mode for determining the soluble solid content (SSC) and acidity (pH) of intact loquats. Two cultivars of loquats (Dahongpao and Jiajiaozhong) harvested from two orchards (Tangxi and Chun'an, Zhejiang, China) were used for the measurement of NIR spectra between 800 and 2500 nm. A total of 400 loquats (100 samples of each cultivar from each orchard) were used in this study. Relationships between NIR spectra and SSC and acidity of loquats were evaluated using partial least square (PLS) method. Spectra preprocessing options included the first and second derivatives, multiple scatter correction (MSC), and the standard normal variate (SNV). Three separate spectral windows identified as full NIR (800approximately2500 nm), short NIR (800approximately1100 nm), and long NIR (1100approximately2500 nm) were studied in factorial combination with the preprocessing options. The models gave relatively good predictions of the SSC of loquats, with root mean square error of prediction (RMSEP) values of 1.21, 1.00, 0.965, and 1.16 degrees Brix for Tangxi-Dahongpao, Tangxi-Jiajiaozhong, Chun'an-Dahongpao, and Chun'an-Jiajiaozhong, respectively. The acidity prediction was not satisfactory, with the RMSEP of 0.382, 0.194, 0.388, and 0.361 for the above four loquats, respectively. The results indicate that NIR diffuse reflectance spectroscopy can be used to predict the SSC and acidity of loquat fruit.

10.Risk factors for anastomotic leakage after laparoscopic intersphincteric resection for low-lying rectal cancer

Objective To investigate the risk factors for anastomotic leakage (AL) after laparoscopic intersphincteric resection (Lap-ISR) for patients with low-lying rectal cancer.Methods This retrospective study was conducted in the Characteristic Medical Center of PLA Rocket Force from Jun 2011 to Nov 2018.151 patients undergoing Lap-ISR were enrolled for this study.Results All patients in this series had a defunctioning ileostomy.The overall leakage rate was 17.2% (26/151),including peri-operative AL (n =20) and delayed AL (n =6).In accordance with the grading system of the International Study Group of Rectal Cancer,there were 24 patients (15.9%) with AL Grade B (requiring active therapeutic intervention) and two patients (1.3%) with AL Grade C (requiring re-laparotomy).Univariate analysis showed that BMI (≥ 25 kg/m2),tumor annularity (≥ 3/4) and operation time (≥ 240 min) were associated with AL (P < 0.05).Multivariate analysis showed that operation time (≥ 240 min,OR =7.390,95% CI:2.483-21.988,P =0.000),tumor annularity (≥ 3/4,OR =6.233,95% CI:1.932-20.107,P=0.002) and higher BMI (≥ 25 kg/m2,OR=3.523,95% CI:1.275-9.738,P=0.015)were independently predictive of AL Conclusion Tumor annularity,operation time and higher BMI are independently associated with symptomatic AL after Lap-ISR.
