Objective To investigate the difference of vacuum sealing drainage (VSD) on the effect of one-stage skin graft and second-stage sugery after scar release. Methods A total of 42 patients who wanted to undergo scar release and skin graft was randomly divided to control group (n =21) and VSD treatment group (n =21).The control group implemented skin graft immdiately after scar release while VSD treatment group were treated with VSD for 3 days after scar release and then implemented skin graft. The rate of subcutaneous blood stasis and the survival rate of skin graft were observed at 7 days after skin graft. The condition of grafted skin contracture and hyperplasia after half a year was also observed. Results The incidcnce of subcutaneous blood stasis was significantly lower in the VSD group than that in the control group (P < 0.05).The survival rate of skin grafts was significantly higher in the VSD group than that of the control group (P < 0.05).The score of Vancouver scar was significantly lower in the VSD group than that in the control group (P < 0.05).Conclusions VSD treatment of second-stage sugery after scar release can reduce the occurrence of subcutaneous blood stasis, promotc skin graft survival, reduce postoperative skin graft contracture and improve the prognosis of patients compared to one-stage skin graft.

Objective To observe the influence of taurine supplementation during early postnatal life on body weight and ultrastructure of islet ? cells in neonatal rats with low birth weight(LBW).Methods LBW neonatal rats were made by feeding 20%(C group) or 10%(R group) protein diet to fetal rats during gestation and lactation.Half of femal rats in group R were given a supplementation with 2.5% taurine drinking water(RT group) only during lactation, while other femal rats freely drunk. At postnatal day 1 and 21,the neonatal rats were weighted and their pancreas were removed. The ultrastructural changes of ? cells were observed by electron microscopy. Results At postnatal 21 days, the body weight of offsprings in group RT was significantly highter than that in group R(P=0.003);and the ultrastructure of ? cells in group RT got more improvement than that in group R.Conclusion Taurine supplementation can improve the growth-catch-up and the ultrastructure of islet ? cells of neonateal rats with LBW.

Twenty-three patients with pain from osteoporotic vertebral fractures, aged 65-90 yr,weighing 51-78 kg,received an image intensifier-assisted nerve-root block with a 6-8 ml mixture of 0.5 % lidocaine, mecobalamine 0.5 mg and betamethasone sodium phosphate injection 5.26 mg in a prone or lateral position. The VAS scores before operation,at 0,1 week,1 and 3 months after operation were 8.6 ± 0.9,1.5 ± 0.7,2.8 ± 0.9,1.6 ± 0.5 and 2.5 ± 0.7,respectively.VAS scores were significantly lower at each time pint after operation than before operation (P < 0.05).According to modified MacNab standard, the effectiveness of treatment was rated as excellent/good in 87% of the patients. No complication such as bleeding, hematoma, infection, pneumothorax, hemopneumothorax, headache was found during or after operation.Selective nerve-root block is effective in the treatment of pain resulting from osteoporotic vertebral fractures in patients.

Journal of Huazhong University of Science and Technology (Medical Sciences) 2014;34(3):403-7
The effect of the complement C1q expression on total hepatic ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) injury in rats was investigated. Sixty healthy male Sprague Dawley (SD) rats weighing 180-200 g were randomly divided into 5 groups: sham-operation group (S group, n=12); group of I/R for 1 h (I/R 1 h group, n=12); group of I/R for 3 h (I/R 3 h group, n=12); group of I/R for 6 h (I/R 6 h group, n=12); group of I/R for 24 h (I/R 24 h group, n=12). The hepatic I/R model of rats was established, and liver tissues were obtained 1 h, 3 h, 6 h and 24 h after hepatic I/R, respectively. Furthermore, the tissues were stained using hematoxylin-eosin, and the liver injuries of rats were observed using a microscope. The malondialdehyde (MDA) level and superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity in liver tissue were determined. Real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and Western blotting were used to detect the expression levels of C1q mRNA and protein, respectively. As compared with the S group, the histopathological changes in I/R 1 h-24 h groups were gradually aggravated with the extension of I/R time. As compared with the S group, SOD activity and MDA content in the I/R groups were reduced and increased respectively with the extension of I/R time (P<0.01). Furthermore, the C1q expression at mRNA and protein levels in the I/R groups (especially in the I/R 3 h group) was significantly higher than that in the S group (P<0.05). It is suggested that C1q expression may play a principal role in hepatic I/R injury, particularly at the early stage of perfusion.

Objective To establish a stable, repeatable and long-lasting rat model of myocardial infarction, and to evaluate the feasibility of monitoring electrophysiological changes and left ventricular function after myocardial infarction by electrocardiography (ECG) and ultrasonic cardiography(UCG). Methods Wistar rats were ligated on the left anterior descending coronary artery after anaesthesia with 10% chloral hydrate and machinery assisted respiration. Then they were monitored by ECG and UCG afer 4,8 and 12 weeks, and were sacrificed and pathologically examined at 12 weeks after operation. Results The rat model of myocardial infarction was established with a survival rate of 83.3% at 72 hours after the operation and 73.3% at 12 weeks after the operation. In the myocardial infarction group, the PR,QRS,QT and QTc intervals were statistically significantly longer than that in the sham operation group. UCG showed that the left ventricular internal diameter at end-diastole (LVIDd) and the left ventricular internal diameter at end-systole (LVIDs) were statiscally significantly higher in the infarction group, and the ejection fraction (EF) and fractional shortening (FS) significantly lower than those in the sham operation group. Long-lasting pathological changes can be seen in the tissues at 12 weeks after operation. Conclusions The method used in the present study is an simple, less injurious and highly successful technique, and the changes in electrophysiology and left ventricular function can be well monitored by ECG and UCG at different times during this period.

Academic Journal of Second Military Medical University 2001;22(2):176-178
Objective: To assess the autonomic nervous impairm ent in chronic renal failure and its related factors. Methods: F orty adults were randomly selected including in-patients in the nephrology ward and healthy subjects for routine medical examination. The subjects were classifi ed into 4 groups: normal subjects(NS),normal renal function, nitremia, uremic patients. The time domain measurements of heart rate variability(HRV) and ambula tory blood pressure were analyzed simultaneously . Results: (1) There were significant differences as compared with normal subjects in the time domain measurements of HRV in uremic group. It decreased significantly when the patient was defined as end stage chronic renal failure. There were no significan t differences between NS,normal renal function group and nitremic group. (2) Ti me domain measurements of HRV was significantly lower(P<0.05) in uremia with renal hypertension than in uremia with normal blood pressure. Conclusio n: (1) Patients with chronic renal failure(HRV) have their cardiac auton omic nervous system impaired conspicuously in the course of uremia. (2) There is a positive correlation between cardiac autonomic nervous system impairment in p atients with CRF and renal function levels. Uremia itself is an independent fact or for the impairment of cardiac autonomic nervous system. (3) Renal hypertensio n with uremia may intensify the impairment of cardiac autonomic nervous system of the patients.
