5.Medicinal vesiculation combined with quick cupping at Shenque (CV 8) for allergic rhinitis with syndrome of yang deficiency: a randomized controlled trial.
Chinese Acupuncture & Moxibustion 2014;34(9):853-856
OBJECTIVETo compare the clinical efficacy differences between medicinal vesiculation combined with quick cupping at Shenque (CV 8) and regular medication for allergic rhinitis with syndrome of yang deficiency.
METHODSEighty-two cases were randomly divided into an observation group (42 cases) and a control group (40 cases). The observation group was treated with medicinal vesiculation combined with quick cupping at Shenque (CV 8). The medicinal vesiculation was applied at Feishu (BL 13), Gaohuang (BL 43), Fengmen (BL 12), Mingmen (GV 4) on the dog days in the summer, one treatment on the 1st dog-day, 2nd dog-day and last dog-day respectively with an interval of 10 days between two treatments. Three treatments were taken as one course, and totally one course was given. The quick cupping was applied at Shenque (CV 8), once a day, ten treatments were taken as one course, and totally three courses was given. The control group was treated with oral administration of loratadine and nasal spray of budesonide. The loratadine was given 10 mg per time, once a day for continuous 14 days; budesonide was given once a day, ten treatments were taken as one course, and totally three courses was given. The clinical efficacy in two groups after treatment was observed, and the contents of immune globulin E (IgE), interleukin-4 (IL-4), interleukin-5 (IL-5) and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) in peripheral serum were measured before and after the treatments.
RESULTSOf all the 82 patients, 79 cases completed the treatment, and 1 patient in the observation group and 2 patients in the control group dropped out. The effective rate was 87.8% (36/41) in the observation group, which was superior to 78.9% (30/38) in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, both groups effectively reduced the contents of IgE, IL-4, IL-5 and TNF-α, and the observation group had superior effect on reducing IgE and IL-4 to the control group (P<0.05).
CONCLUSIONThe medicinal vesiculation combined with quick cupping at Shenque (CV 8) have better effect for allergic rhinitis with syndrome of yang deficiency than oral administration of loratadine and nasal spray of budesonide.

International Journal of Laboratory Medicine 2009;30(7):635-636
Objective To evaluate the clinical significance of antinuclear antibody (ANA) and ANA repertoire in the diagnosis of systemic sclerosis (SSc). Methods ANAs were tested in 64 pa tients with SSc and 30 healthy controls by applying indirect immunofluorescence (IIF) and immunoblotting (IB). Results IIF-ANA assay showed that the positive rate of ANAs was 98. 4% (63/64) in SSc, and ANA staining was mainly shown as homogeneous-nucleolar pattern; IB-ENA test indicated that the antinuclear antibodies were mainly anti-Scl-70, anti-SS-A and anti-nRNP in SSc, and the positive rate was respectively 65.1% (41/64), 29.7% (19/64) and 6.3% (4/64). Conclusion Existence of multiple antibodies in SSc patients may hint that the patients might have other autoimmune diseases or increased risk for other autoimmune diseases. Besides, IB assay significantly increases the sensitivity and specificity of ANAs measurement, and contributes to the diagnosis of SSc.
8.Whole-genome expression analysis of synovial fibroblasts in rheumatoid arthritis
Chinese Journal of Orthopaedics 2017;37(11):691-697
Objective To identify the crucial gene implicated in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) pathogenesis by comparing microarray-based gene expression profiles of synovial fibroblast in arthritis patients and that in control. Methods The public datasets were obtained from NCBI GEO and EBI ArrayExpress. The qualified microarray-based gene expression profiles were integrated and normalized using the method implemented in GeneSpring software.Furthermore, the differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were identified using significance analysis of microarrays (SAM) method. The online tool DAVID and STRING were applied to conduct the enrichment analysis and gene product interaction analysis respectively. Results There were two datasets that were qualified and analyzed in the present study.A total of 336 significant DEGs were identified by comparing the whole-genome gene expression profiles from synovial fibroblast of RA patients and control group.Among these DEGs,261 were significantly downregulated and 75 upregulated.About 13.6% of the downregulated genes were associated with extracellular matrix degradation. The COL9A3 and COL4A5,indispensable component of hyaline cartilage and basement membrane respectively, were significantly downregulated,as well as genes in WNT family, including WNT2,WNT11,and WNT16.In contrast, matrix metalloproteinase 13 (MMP13) was found to be significantly upregulated in RA patients.MMP13 is a matrix metallopeptidase that degrade extracellular matrix and hyaline cartilage, and it could possibly interact with other proteins to regulate morphogenesis. Conclusion Molecular mechanisms underlying RA pathogenesis were investigated by analyzing the public datasets.A few genes that associated with extracellular matrix degradation, construction and regulation, including MMP13,WNT2,WNT11,WNT16,COL9A3 and COL4A5,could be regarded as therapeutic targets in RA treatment.

Objective To explore the diagnosis and treatment of marginal compression fractures of acetabular posterior wall with posterior dislocation of hip. Methods Eleven patients with marginal compression fractures of acetabular posterior wall and posterior dislocation of hip were retrospectively reviewed. Their conditions were all confirmed by CT scan before operation. AH the patients were treated by ORIF (open reduction with internal fixation) and the compressed bones were elevated with bone grafts. All the fractures were fixed with reconstruction plating. Results The mean follow up was 32. 4 months (5 to 56 months) . The results of modified d'Aubigne and Postel score system were excellent in four patients, good in four, fair in two, and poor in one. The good to excellent rate was 72. 7%. Conclusion It is likely for patients with fractures of acetabular posterior wall and posterior dislocation of hip to have marginal compression fracture which can be definitely diagnosed by CT scan preoperatively. Good results can be obtained by elevating part of the compressed marginal bone with bone grafting, because it can improve the reduction of acetabulum and femoral head.
