OBJECTIVETo introduce practical diagnostic criterion of blood stasis syndrome (BSS), and to evaluate its reliability and validity.
METHODSBy referring to three diagnostic criteria of BSS [practical diagnostic criterion of BSS (criterion A), diagnostic criterion of BSS in 1986 (criterion B), Consensus of Integrative Medicine on BSS Diagnosis in 2011 (criterion C)], 712 patients from different departments of Xiyuan Hospital were recruited. The reliability of criterion A and its consistency with the other two criteria were assessed using Kappa coefficient. A Bayesian approach was also employed to assess the sensitivity and specificity of criterion A.
RESULTSAccording to the consistency check, criterion A presented good consistency when used by different researchers (the diagnostic accordance rate was 91. 96%, Kappa =0. 82, P <0.001). Meanwhile, there was an acceptable diagnostic consistency among the three diagnostic criteria. Bayesian estimation suggested that criterion A had higher sensitivity but similar specificity, as compared with criterion B or criterion C. Compared with criterion B [the median of sensitivity and specificity were 0. 762 (95% Cl: 0. 731 -0. 790) and 0. 902 (95% Cl: 0. 858 -0. 936) respectively, the median of sensitivity and specificity of criterion A were 0. 911 (95% CI: 0. 888 - 0. 930) and 0. 875 (95% CI: 0. 826 - 0. 915) respectively. Estimating the difference between criterion A and B, the median of sensitivity and specificity were 0. 149 (95% CI: 0. 112 -0.184) and -0. 026 (95% CI:-0. 085 -0. 033) respectively. Compared with criterion C [the median of sensitivity and specificity were 0. 831 (95% Cl: 0. 804 -0. 857) and 0. 892 (95% CI: 0. 848 - 0. 926) respectively], the median of sensitivity and specificity of criterion A were 0. 912 (95% CI: 0. 889 -0. 932) and 0. 880 (95%CI: 0. 833 - 0.919) respectively. Estimating the difference between criterion A and C, the median of sensitivity and specificity were 0. 081 (95% CI: 0.047 - 0.114) and -0.011 (95%CI: -0.070 -0.046) respectively.
CONCLUSIONCompared with criterion B and C, criterion A not only had better reliability, but also could significantly improve the sensitivity without obviously lowering the specificity.

OBJECTIVETo evaluate the early clinical effects of arthroscopic treatment for cruciate ligament cysts of the knee.
METHODSFrom September 2008 to January 2014, 23 patients with cruciate cysts were treated with arthroscopic surgery. There were 11 males and 17 females, with an average age of 28.3 years old (ranged, 16 to 56 years old). Twenty patients had injuries on the right knee and 8 patients had injuries on the left knee. Eight patients had a history of injury,5 patients had a history of chronic injury, and the other 15 patients had no obvious reasons for the symptom. Before the operation, 24 patients were clearly diagnosed as the cruciate ligament cysts of knee joint, and 4 patients were diagnosed as other problems of the knee, but the diagnosis were corrected after the operation. According to the MRI before the surgery, all the patients could be divided into 3 types: 14 were type I, 6 were type II, 8 were type III. After the operation, the patients were suggested to have a rest for 2 weeks, and take exercises everyday at the same time. The knee range of motion, Lysholm score, International Knee Documentation Committee (IKDC) 2000 subjective score, GLASGOW criteria, and McMurray test, pivot shift test, and anterior drawer test were observed to evaluate clinical results.
RESULTSAll the incisions healed at the first stage without complications. Twenty-five patients were followed up, and the duration ranged from 12 to 52 months, with a mean of 26.7 months. Three patients accepted the reconstruction of ACL or tightened elongated ACL using bipolar radio frequency. The Lysholm score increased from preoperative 59.80 +/- 6.58 to 75.32 +/- 6.49 at the latest follow-up; IKDC 2000 score increased from preoperative 65.36 +/- 6.26 to 81.00 +/- 5.76 at the latest follow-up. According to GLASGOW criteria,23 patients got an excellent result and 2 good.
CONCLUSIONIt has a satisfactory curative effect on ACL reconstruction using bipolar radio frequency. It has advantages of firm fixation, simple and secure operation as well as quick postoperative recovery. It's very important to check the MRI before operations, and carefully seek the cysts during the operations, avoiding the omission of any cysts, especially the cases of multiple cysts. Finally, patients should take exercises actively after operations.

BACKGROUND: Magnetic nanoparticles have attracted tremendous attention for their diverse biomedical applications involving tumor hyperthermia, drug controlled release and magnetic resonance angiography. The interaction between biomaterials and cells is the major part in the in vitro study, and the evaluation of cellular uptake of magnetic nanoparticles is indispensable for tumor hyperthermia and drug delivery. OBJECTIVE: To review the progress of evaluation methodology of cellular uptake of magnetic nanoparticles. METHODS: The articles about magnetic nanoparticles and cellular uptake were retrieved from PubMed, SCI and Embase databases published during January 2010 to June 2017 by the first author using computer. The Mesh terms were "magnetic nanoparticles", and the key words were "cellular uptake", "internalization" or "endocytosis". The logical operator between them was "AND". RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: Qualitative quantitative assessment methods for cellular uptake of magnetic nanoparticles include Prussian blue staining, fluorescence microscopy, confocal microscopy, transmission electron microscopy. Quantitative assessment methods for cellular uptake of magnetic nanoparticles include inductively coupled plasma, magnetization measurements, colorimetry of Prussian blue staining. The development direction of the evaluation methodology is from qualitative to quantitative. As each method has its own merits and demerits, we should choose the right evaluation method based on the function and application of magnetic nanoparticles and then supply the right experimental basis for the biomedical application of magnetite nanoparticles.

OBJECTIVE:
To explore the applicability of integration between three-dimensional (3D) facial and dental data to evaluate the nasolabial morphology variation before and after the cross-arch fixed restoration of the maxillary implant-supported prostheses.
METHODS:
Twelve patients (4 women and 8 men), mean age (54.82±5.50) years (from 45 to 62 years) referred to the Department of Oral Implan-tology, Peking University School and Hospital of Stomatology, were selected and diagnosed with edentulous maxilla. For all the patients, 4 to 6 implants were inserted into the maxilla. Six months later, the final cross-arch fixed prostheses were delivered. The 3D facial images were collected before and after the final restoration. The 3D data of prostheses were also captured. All the 3D data were registered and measured in the same coordinate system. Then the displacement of all the landmarks [cheilion left (CHL), cheilion right (CHR), crista philtri left (CPHL), crista philtri right (CPHR), labrale supe-rius (LS), subnasale (SN), stomion (STO), upper incisor (UI), upper flange border of the prostheses (F-point, F)], and the variation of the distances between these landmarks (SN-LS, CPHR-CPHL, CHR-CHL, LS-STO) were analyzed and compared.
RESULTS:
The consistency test among three measurements of the length of F-SN indicated that the integration method of the dental prostheses and soft tissue had the good repetitiveness, ICC=0.983 (95%CI: 0.957-0.995). After wearing the final cross-arch maxillary implant-supported prostheses, all the landmarks on the soft tissue moved forward. The nasal base area changed minimally, and the shift of SN in the sagittal direction was only (0.61±0.44) mm. But the sagittal shift of LS was (3.12±1.38) mm. In the vertical direction, SN, LS, CPHL, and CPHR moved upward. But STO, CHL, and CHR moved downward a little. Except for the slight decrease of the length of philtrum (SN-LS), the length of CHL-CHR, CPHL-CPHR, and the height of upper lip were increased together (P < 0.01). In the direction of Z axis, the strong correlations were found not only between the movements of SN and F (r=0.904 3) but also between the movements of LS and UI (r=0.958 4).
CONCLUSION
The integration method of 3D facial and dental data showed good repetitiveness. And the strong correlations between the landmarks of prostheses and nasolabial soft tissue in the sagittal direction were found by this new method.

Journal of Central South University(Medical Sciences) 2011;36(1):44-50
OBJECTIVE:
To investigate the possible role of Danshensu on fibronectin (FN) and collagen-I (Col-I) secretion induced by high glucose in human peritoneal mesothelial cells (HPMCs).
METHODS:
HPMCs were treated with high glucose and Danshensu at different concentrations. The mRNA expression of FN, Col-I, endothelin-1 (ET-1), and heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) were examined by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). The protein expression of FN, Col-I HO-1 and ET-1 were analyzed by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay or immunofluorescence method.
RESULTS:
The expression of protein and mRNA of FN and Col-I were attenuated by Danshensu in both dose-dependent and time-dependent manner. The mRNA and protein levels of ET-1 were decreased, and the mRNA and protein levels of HO-1 increased in the Danshensu groups in a dose-dependent manner compared with the high glucose group. The expression of ET-1 and HO-1 showed little difference in a time gradient of danshensu(P>0.05).
CONCLUSION
Danshensu can protect HPMCs through inhibiting the expression of FN and Col-I induced by high glucose, which is related to the suppression of oxidative stress.

Chinese Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism 1986;0(03):-
Objective To investigate the change of plasma visfatin level and the relationship of plasma visfatin level to body mass index(BMI),waist hip ratio(WHR),blood glucose, plasma insulin levels as well as other factors in the subjects with different glucose tolerances. Methods Fasting and glucose loading 2 h plasma visfatin levels were assayed by ELISA in patients with type 2 diabetes and impaired glucose tolerance(IGT),and controls. The relationship of plasma visfatin level with BMI,HOMA-IR,blood lipids, plasma glucose, plasma insulin, free fatty acids(FFA)levels were also analyzed. Results Fasting and glucose loading 2 h plasma visfatin levels in the type 2 diabetic patients were significantly reduced compared with controls[(11.63?7.48)?g/L vs (16.82?6.06)?g/L and (12.02?6.86)?g/L vs (16.26?7.78)?g/L,both P<0.05],and the level of plasma visfatin in IGT was lower than that in diabetics and higher than controls. The level of visfatin in obese subjects was modestly higher than that in non-obese subjects, but the difference is not significant.Plasma visfatin level was positively correlated with WHR(r=0.42,P<0.01),and negatively with 2 h plasma glucose after glucose loading(2hPG)and HbA_(1C)(r=-0.33,P<0.01 and r=-0.25,both P<0.05).Multiple regression analysis showed that fasting plasma glucose,WHR,2hPG,high density lipoprotein cholesterol and HbA_(1C) were independent related factors in influencing plasma visfatin levels. Conclusion The change of visfatin level is associated with glucose metabolism, which may contribute,in part,to the pathogenesis of diabetes and obesity.

OBJECTIVE:
To analyze the clinicopathological characteristics of prostate cancer patients undertaking radical prostatectomy with single positive core biopsy, and to optimize the rational choice of therapeutic strategy.
METHODS:
In the study, 53 patients with single positive core prostate biopsy and treated by radical prostatectomy from January 2010 to December 2018, were analyzed retrospectively. The mean age was (69.7±6.9) years (54-81 years), the mean prostate specific antigen (PSA) level was (9.70±5.24) μg/L (1.69-25.69 μg/L), and the mean prostate volume was (50.70±28.39) mL (12.41-171.92 mL). Thirty-nine out of 54 (73.6%) patients presented Gleason score with 6, 11 patients (20.8%) had Gleason score of 7 and 3 patients (5.7%) showed Gleason score ≥8. For clinical stages, 6 out of the 53 patients (11.3%) had prostate cancer in cT1, 44 cases (83.0%) had prostate cancer in cT2, and 3 cases (5.7%) in cT3.The patients were divided into subgroups according to age, preoperative PSA level, Gleason score, percentage of tumor in single needle tissue and clinical stage, and the differences of their clinicopathological characteristics were compared.
RESULTS:
Postoperative Gleason score of 6, 7 and ≥8 were found in 20 cases (37.7%), 21 cases (39.6%) and 10 cases (18.9%) respectively, another 2 cases (3.8%) were pT0 prostate cancer; pathological stages of T0, T2a, T2b, T2c and T3 were found in 2 cases (3.8%), 9 cases (17.0%), 2 cases (3.8%), 29 cases (54.7%) and 11 cases (20.8%) respectively; 11 cases (20.8%) had positive surgical margin, 10 cases (18.9%) had extracapsular invasion of prostate, and 1 case (1.9%) showed seminal vesicle invasion. Forty-two cases (79.2%) had multifocal lesions and 37 cases (69.8%) presented bilateral lesion. Compared with the biopsy Gleason score, the postoperative Gleason score was downgrated in 3 cases (5.7%), unchanged in 28 cases (52.8%), and upgraded in 20 cases (37.7%), of which 2 cases (3.8%) were pT0. Compared with the clinical stage, the postoperative pathological stage decreased in 2 cases (3.8%), unchanged in 10 cases (18.9%), and upgraded in 41 cases (77.4%). According to the postoperative pathology, the patients were divided into two groups: microfocus cancer group (n=8) and non-microfocus cancer group (n=45). The difference between the two groups in the percentage of tumor in the single-needle tissue ≤5% was statistically significant (P=0.014). Other parameter diffe-rences including age, prostate volume, and preoperative prostate special antigen density (PSAD) and Gleason scores were not statistically significant (P>0.05). The method to determine the location of cancer at the apex of prostate according to biopsy results showed 41.4% (12/29) false negative rate and 50.0% (12/24) false positive rate. There was statistically significant difference between the actual cases of lymph node dissection and reserved nerve and the cases of scheme selection in theory according to the postoperative pathology (P < 0.05).
CONCLUSION
The proportion of single needle cancer tissue less than or equal to 5% is a predictor of prostate microfocal cancer. 37.7% cases had pathological upgrading and 77.4% cases had pathological staging upgrading. When choosing the operation scheme, such as sexual nerve reserved, lymph node dissection and apex operation skill, it is necessary to comprehensively analyze multiple factors, such as tumor risk classification, prediction factors of nomogram, multi-parameter MRI and intraoperative situation and so on.

Chinese Journal of Pediatrics 2004;42(4):271-274
OBJECTIVETo explore the relationship between latex allergen and clinical presentation as well as allergenic cross-reactivity between latex and other allergens, to know the incidence of latex allergy in Chinese children and elucidate the allergenic cross-reactivity of latex with other allergens.
METHODSTotally 265 children with allergic disorders were assayed with 13 international standard allergen agents by means of SPT.
RESULTSIn 79 children with latex allergenic SPT position, 53 were boys and 26 were girls with an average age of 5.6 years, and 14 cases had episodes occurred in winter, 14 cases in spring, 24 cases in summer, and 27 cases in autumn. Of them, 66 cases presented as asthma, 5 cases atopic skin disorders, 1 case anaphylactoid purpura, 1 case hives and 6 cases only had mild cough. Statistical analysis showed that the positive percentage of the latex SPT had no obvious relation with sex and age, but was higher in summers and autumns than in winters and springs (P < 0.01). Children with allergic symptoms had higher positive rate in latex allergenic SPT than those without them, that is, the positive percentage of the latex SPT significantly increased among children presenting with some allergic symptoms, such as asthma, hives and atopic skin disorders (P < 0.01). All the children with latex allergenic SPT position had cross-reactivity with acarid allergen, 62.0% approximately 43.0% with animal protein allergens including milk, cats, shrimp, dogs, eggs in the order of decreasing cross-reaction rate, and 10.1% - 3.8% with mold and plant farina allergens. But the cross-reactivity between latex and mold or tree farina I were not statistically significant.
CONCLUSIONThirty percent of the children with allergic disorders were latex allergenic SPT positive. Latex allergenic SPT positive results were significantly correlative to allergic clinical presentation and season, while were not relative to sex and age. The cross-reactivity of latex with acarid was most common, followed by animal protein allergens, while the cross-reactivity with mold and plant farina allergen was rare.
