Objective To investigate the family burden from behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD) in patients with Alzheimer disease (AD) living at home and in nursing home.Methods Neuropsychiatric Inventory/Neuropsychiatric Inventory-Nursing Home (NPI) and Family Burden Interview Scale (FBIS) were used to measure the occurrence of BPSD in 200 AD patients. The data were analyzed.Results In-home patients' total score and family daily activities, family entertainment, family relationships, family members' mental health and the body healthy dimension scores of FBIS were significantly higher （ P<0.05）, and the dimension scores of economic burden were significantly lower ( P<0.01) than those of patients in nursing home. Patients' total score of NPI was positively correlated with the economic burden, family entertainment, family relationships, family members' mental health and the body healthy dimension scores of FBIS （ P<0.01）. Every dimension score of NPI and total score of FBIS positively related ( P<0.05). Dimension score of family daily activities of FBIS was not related to all of the dimension scores and total score of NPI ( P>0.05).Conclusion The family burden from BPSD should not be ignored, especially the patients living at home, which suggests that AD patients should be sent to nursing home to spend their rest life.

Objective To understand the influene of inhabited environment on psychological and be-havioral symptom of dementia (BPSD) in patients with Alzbeimer's disease. Methods Nenrepsychiatric in-ventory was used to measure the occurrence of BPSD of 100 home and 100 resthome patients with Alzheimer's disease.Tbe data were analyzed with software SPSS version 13.0. Results The scores of hallucinations, anxi-ety,aberrant motor behavior and sleep disturbance in resthome patients were significant higher than those of home patients.There was significantly difference in the extent of occurrence in aberrant motor behavior, apathy/ indifference, hallucinations, sleep disturbance, anxiety,depression/dysphoria and appetite/eating disorders be-tween home and resthome patients,among which the extent of occurrence in resthome patients was higher except for body weight decreasing and appetite/eating disoniers. Conclusions The occurrence of BPSD is different according to different inhabited environment, symptoms of resthome patients are worse, so families should be ap-pealed as far as possibile to allow AD patients living at home.

Objective To investigate the significance of an accessory hepatic vein (AHV) in the interventional treatment of Budd-Chiari syndrome (BCS).Methods From Mar.2011 to Jun.2013,35 patients with BCS who also had an AHV were included into this study.The patients were divided into two groups according to whether the AHV was obstructive:21 patients had obstruction to the inferior vena cava (IVC) and to the 3 hepatic veins (HV),but the AHV was open; 14 patients had obstruction to the AHV and the 3 HVs.In 13 of these patients the IVC was open,but 1 patient had obstruction to the IVC.During treatment,the patients in the AHV open group underwent balloon dilation or stent insertion of IVC ; patients in the AHV obstruction group underwent balloon dilation or stent insertion of AHV.The patient with obstruction to the IVC underwent balloon dilation of IVC first.Results All patients were successfully treated without any procedure-related complications.In the AHV open group,the average pressure of the AHV decreased from (28.81 ± 6.23) cmH2 O (1 cmH2O =0.098 kPa) before treatment to (18.62 ± 5.06) cmH2O after treatment (P ＜ 0.01) ; the average serum TBIL decreased from (23.24 ± 6.41) μmol/L before treatment to (19.52 ± 4.31) μmol/L after treatment (P ＜ 0.01) ; the average serum albumin changed from (33.76 ± 3.74) g/L before treatment to (34.05 ± 3.62) g/L after treatment (P =0.485).In the AHV obstruction group,the average pressure of the AHV decreased from (36.29 ± 11.65) cmH2O before treatment to (22.07 ± 7.67) cmH2O after treatment (P ＜ 0.01) ; the average serum TBIL decreased from (31.24 ± 9.54) μmol/L before treatment to (20.93 ±7.26) μmol/L after treatment (P ＜0.01) ; the average serum albumin changed from (32.14 ± 4.55) g/L before treatment to (32.11 ± 4.47) g/L after treatment (P =0.861).During follow-up,no patients experienced recurrence of symptoms in the AHV open group; one patient experienced recurrence of symptoms 5 months after treatment in the AHV obstruction group.This patient received a second balloon dilation of the AHV.Conclusions For patients with BCS with IVC and the 3 HVs obstruction,if the AHV was open,we could only treat the IVC.For patients with BCS with AHV and the 3 HVs obstruction,AHV dilation followed by recanalization of AHV was also effective.

A certain amount of image noise is increased in low-dese protocols, but image quality is still acceptable without problem in CT localization. The reduction of radiation dose and the radiation harm to patients are the superiority.

BACKGROUND:Based on the blood and urine biochemical changes in different intensities and types of exercise, this research describes the impact of exercise on bone metabolism. Meantime, these biochemical indexes also show a method of marking physiological differences of certain individuals, and also reflect the impact of exercise on bone. These can be regarded as a monitoring index of bone growth and metabolism. OBJECTIVE:To study exercise effect from the biochemical indicators in bone metebolism, and make a further discussion about its influence on bone formation and bone resorption. METHODS:Databases of CNKI and PubMed were retrieved by computer with key words of “exercise; bone metabolism; biochemical indicators” in Chinese and English, respectively, by screening titles and abstracts to search papers related to exercise effects on the blood and urine biochemical indicators. Totaly 236 papers were initialy found, and only 38 papers were included in result analysis. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: Low-intensity exercise shows less effect on the bone, but excessive exercise is harmful to the bone that can cause stress fractures. What’s worse, it causes a lack of female hormone and reduce bone mass. Exercise can alter the blood and urine biochemical indicators in aspects of types of exercise and intensities. Only the exercise at appropriate intensity makes positive effects on bone formation and resorption, and assists bone mineral density and bone biomechanical indicators to develop exercise prescription and arrange rehabilitation exercises. MechanismS of bone turnover need further discussion at the celular level.

Objective To design and develop a treatment unit selecting system in aim of enhancing work efficiency and safety,adjusting treatment unit workload,improving quality of medical care.Methods Various treatment techniques,immobilization devices and setup verification devices were modeled in software.Workload of treatment units were extract from the Record and Verify System.These two types of information were then combined with the unit's workload capability to calculate the optimal radiotherapy apparatus for tumor patient.Results The system had finished selecting radiotherapy apparatusv for more than 5 000 patients since its taking place of the old patient selecting methods.Maximum variation of daily treatment duration between treatment units had decreased from 4-5 hours (mean 4.22 hours) to 1-2 hours (mean 1.84 hours) since the system have been put into operation.Workload and device configuration of various units could be controlled by easily editing of the system configuration file.Conclusions The system developed not only accomplish patient selecting in an optimal and safe way,but also provide a way of easily control the treatment unit workload.

Objective:To investigate the effect of LINC00261 on the radiosensitivity of nasopharyngeal carcinoma and tumor formation and its underlying mechanism in nude mice.Methods:qRT-PCR was used to detect the relative expression levels of miR-620 and LINC00261 in radiosensitive and radioresistant nasopharyngeal carcinoma tissues. After the 6-10B and HNE-3 cells were irradiated with 0, 2, 4, 6, and 8 Gy 60Coγ-ray, the relative expression levels of miR-620 and LINC00261 were measured by qRT-PCR. After over-expression or silencing of LINC00261 and inhibition of miR-620 expression, the cells were irradiated with 4 Gy 60Coγ-ray. Clone formation assay was performed to detect the radiosensitivity of nasopharyngeal carcinoma cells. Flow cytometry was used to detect cell apoptosis. Western blot was utilized to detect the expression levels of Cleaved caspase-3 and Cleaved caspase-9 proteins. Luciferase reporter assay was adopted to analyze the targeting relationship between LINC00261 and miR-620. The changes in tumor formation were observed in tumor-bearing nude mice. Results:Compared with the radiosensitive tissues, the expression of LINC00261 was significantly down-regulated, whereas that of miR-620 was significantly up-regulated in radioresistant tissues (both P<0.05). After different doses of irradiation, the expression of LINC00261 was significantly down-regulated, whereas that of miR-620 was significantly up-regulated in 6-10B and HNE-3 cells (both P<0.05). After overexpression of LINC00261 and interference with miR-620 expression, the expression levels of Cleaved caspase-3 and Cleaved caspase-9 were significantly up-regulated (both P<0.05), the cell apoptosis rate was remarkably increased ( P<0.05) and the cell survival fraction was significantly enhanced in 6-10B and HNE-3 cells ( P<0.05). LINC00261 targetedly regulated the expression of miR-620. Overexpression of miR-620 could attenuate the radiosensitization and pro-apoptotic effects of LINC00261 overexpression on nasopharyngeal carcinoma cells. LINC00261 overexpression could significantly reduce the tumor formation weight of nasopharyngeal carcinoma in nude mice ( P<0.05). Conclusion:Overexpression of LINC00261 can increase the radiosensitivity of nasopharyngeal carcinoma cells probably by targeted regulation of miR-620 expression.

Objective To introduce treatment of old scaphoid fractures by internal fixation with common screws which have been modified into compression-like ones.Methods Twenty-five patients with old scaphoid fracture were admitted to our department from January,1995 to December,2002.They were 17 cases of delayed union,and eight cases of non-union and pseudoarticulation formation.All the patients were treated with open re- duction anti internal fixation by modified common cortical bone screws,some threads of which bad been erased so that they could act somewhat like compression ones.The modified screws were driven into the reduced scaphoid by simple surgical instruments to fix and compress the fracture ends.Results Nineteen cases were followed up for one to six years (mean,3 years).Fourteen cases of fracture healed,with an average healing time of 7 months.The mean extension-flexion arc of the injured wrists was between 106 degrees and 128 degrees.Three cases failed to heal,and two cases experienced deformed and sunken proximal scaphoid.Conclusions Common cortical bone screws can be easily changed into compression-like ones to treat old scaphoid fractures and result in satisfactory,clinic outcome.In addition,they are easily available,can be inserted through joint facet with limited negative effect on the joint,and play a double role of compression and fixation.
