1.Correlation between aluminum overload-induced brain neurodegeneration and monoamine oxidase B in mouse brain
Journal of Chongqing Medical University 1986;0(02):-
Objective:To adopt the brain lesion model of mouse induced by overload aluminum to study the relationship between monoamine oxidase B disorder and neurodegeneration induced by overload aluminum(Al).Method:Aluminum overload models were established by injection of 3?l AlCl3 into lateral ventricle of miceeach day for 5d.The AlCl3 solutions injected in different modelswere with different concentrations and they were 0.125%,0.25%,0.5%.On d10,d20,and d30 after the final administration of AlCl3 solution, the learning and memory function of mice, pathomorphology of hippocampi, and MAO-B activity were determined. Results:Aluminum overload elevated MAO-B activity, caused karyopyknosis and loss of neurons in CA1 area of hippocampi,in dose-and time-dependent manners. Conclusion:The results indicate that neurodegeneration induced by Al toxicity may be related to the monoamine oxidase B homeostasis interfered by Al overload.
2.Analysis of Oleanolic Acid with Laser Raman Spectroscopy
Chinese Traditional and Herbal Drugs 1994;0(05):-
Raman bands of oleanolic acid were measured with laser Raman spectroscopy, and compared with that obtained fron IR spectroscopy. It was found that the corresponding characteristic bands of oleanolic acid can be identified in both speetroscopy.

Objective To investigate clinical characters of functional dyspepsia (FD) and organic dyspepsia (OD) and evaluate the Chinese management guideline of dyspepsia. Methods Three hundreds patients with epigastric dyspepsia symptoms received a series of examinations including a detailed investigation of symptoms, liver functions, upper gastrointestinal endoscopy and B ultrasound, and then they were divided into OD and FD groups in accordance with Rome Ⅱ criteria. Results 153 (51.0%) and 147 cases (49.0%) were ascribed to FD and OD respectively. FD occurred more often at the age of less than 40 ( P =0.006). The scores of such symptoms as bloating( P

Objective To investigate the ameliorative effect and a mechanism of APS on the hepatic steatosis in diabetic KKAy mice. Methods KKAy and C57BL/6J mice were respectively seperated into KK and K+A(n=8)as well as C and C+A(n=10)groups.Blood and hepatic biochemical parameters were observed.Insulin sensitivity was analyzed by OGTT & HOMA-IR.Hepatic pathological changes were presented through microscope and TEM.The expressions of hepatic GSK3? and insulin-induced Ser9GSK3? were performed by Western blot. Results With 8-week APS therapy in K+A group, the levels of blood glucose and hepatic TG and FFA were decreased, insulin sensitivity was improved, the hepatic steatosis was significantly alleviated(P
6.Preparation and evaluation of oridonin derivatives
Chinese Traditional and Herbal Drugs 1994;0(03):-
Objective In order to study the structure-activity relationship of oridonin,Some derivatives of oridonin were synthesized and their cytotoxicity activity was evaluated. Methods Oridonin (Ⅰ) was isolated and purified by silica gel column chromatography. The derivatives were synthesized from oridonin through oxidation and acylation. All compounds were confirmed by spectrum analyses and their cytotoxicity was evaluated by MTT method. Results Six compounds were obtained and identified as: 14-acetyl-oridonin(Ⅱ),1,14-diacetyl-oridonin(Ⅲ),14-p-tolylsulfonyl-oridonin(Ⅳ),1-oxo-oridonin(Ⅴ),14-acetyl-1-oxo-oridonin(Ⅵ),14-p-tolylsulfonyl-1-oxo-oridonin(Ⅶ).Among them compounds Ⅳ,Ⅵ,and Ⅶ were new compounds.Five compounds showed better cytotoxicity than oridonin. Conclusion The cytotoxicity of 1oxo oridonin derivatives is first evaluated and shows the stronger cytotoxicity than oridonin.

Objective To study the efficacy of laparoscopic ligation and resection for the treatment of interstitial tubal pregnancy. Methods Totally 32 patients with interstitial tubal pregnancy were enrolled into this study. The cases were randomly divided into groups A and B(16 in each).Laparoscopic ligation and resection was performed in group A,while the patients in group B received traditional salpingectomy to remove the embryo after local electrical coagulation. The operation time, intraoperative blood loss, rates of conversion to open surgery and postoperative complications, the 24-hour change of ?-hCG,and the recovery time of ?-hCG level were compared between the two groups. Results Compared to the group B,group A had significantly shorter operation time and less blood loss (40?16)min vs(60?19)min,t=-3.178,P=0.004;and(40?12)ml vs(95?26)ml,t=-7.644,P=0.000].The 24-hour change and recovery time of the level of ?-hCG were similar between the two groups (9889?7945)mIU/ml vs(9696?7883)mIU/ml,t=0.068,P=0.946;(10.1?3.2)d vs(9.8?2.4)d,t=0.294,P=0.771].Conclusions Laparoscopic ligation and resection is effective for the treatment of interstitial tubal pregnancy.

Chinese Journal of Minimally Invasive Surgery 2001;0(05):-
Objective To evaluate the efficacy and feasibility of percutaneous microwave coagulation therapy(PMCT) combined with 125I seeds implantation for the treatment of advanced lung cancer. Methods CT-guided PMCT and implantation of 125I seeds were applied to 22 cases of NSCLC,including 15 cases of squamous carcinoma and 7 cases of adenocarcinoma. The maximum diameter of the lesions ranged from 5-12 cm.The part of focuses situated at thoracic wall or surrounding the large vessels and airways was treated with 125I seed implantation, and the other parts were treated with PMCT. Results In all the patients,PMCT was done in one session with multipoint ablation, and an average of 32.4 particles of 125I seeds were implanted for each of the focuses(712 particles in total). The main postoperative complications included slight hemoptysis(7 cases),pneumothorax(4 cases),fever(17) and lung inflammation(11) after PMCT,chest fluid(6),and dislocation of the particles(2).15 cases achieved PR,5 cases were SD,and 2 cases were PD in 2 months after the operation shown by CT.The effective rate(CR + PR) was 68.2%(15/22).The chest pain was relieved in 15 patients, and improved in 4.22 of the cases were followed up for 4 to 18 months(mean 7 months). No enlargement of the chest lesion was detected during the period. Conclusions For the advanced NSCLC sized ≥ 5 cm in diameter,PMCT combined with 125I seeds implantation is safe, minimally invasive, and effective.

Chinese Journal of Orthopaedics 2001;0(01):-
Objective To study the mechanism and the nomenclature of the lumbar disk herniation associated with posterior bony edge separation of the vertebral body, based on its CT findings in transverse and sagittal planes. Methods 18 patients with lumbar disk herniation were evaluated with the CT scan and sagittal reconstruction. Results There were 19 lumbar herniated disks associated with separated posterior bony edge of the vertebral body which protruded into the spinal canal. There was bony defect filled with disk material. In the sagittal plane, the bony separation and the posterior edge of the vertebral body formed the “V” type defect at 15 levels, and 4 were irregular or triangular. 15 cases of the disc herniation had bony separations and 4 had bone connection with the vertebral body. There were bony defect and sclerosis on the vertebral body edge. Conclusion The main mechanism was the separation compression of the herniated disk on the posterior vertebral body. The bony separation was the secondary change. So the authors suggest that such anatomical pathologic changes be named as intervertebral disk herniation associated with posterior bony separation of the lumbar vertebrae.
