1.A Comparison of SVR and tb-ABR Response Threshold and PTA Threshold in Normal -hearing Young People

Objective To study the relationship among the slow vertex response (SVR) ,tone burst ABR threshold and pure tone thresholds in young people with normal hearing ,and to discuss the values of SVR and tb -ABR assessing hearing thresholds .Methods A total of 30 normal-hearing young people aged 20 to 24 were indud-ed in this study .The thresholds of SVR ,tb -ABR and threshold of PTA were tested at each verbal frequency (0 .5 ,1 ,2 ,4 kHz) .The differences and the relationship among SVR with PTA ,tb-ABR ,and PTA were statistical-ly studied .Results The differences between SVR and tb -ABR and PTA at various frequencies were statistically significant (P<0 .05) .The minimum difference between SVR and PTA was (3 .59 ± 7 .32) dB at 0 .5 kHz .The differences of 1 ,2 ,and 4 kHz were 6 .92 ± 5 .07 ,8 .33 ± 6 .71 ,and 9 .83 ± 9 .41 dB ,respectively .The minimum differences between tb -ABR and PTA was 14 .58 ± 7 .24 dB at 4 kHz ,and the differences of 0 .5 ,1 ,and 2 kHz were 29 .42 ± 6 .83 ,23 .25 ± 7 .47 ,and 16 .50 ± 6 .43 dB ,respectively .SVR and PTA had a good correlation at 1 and 2 kHz (r=0 .51 ,P<0 .01 and r=0 .44 ,P<0 .05 ,respectively) .tb-ABR and PTA had a good correlation at 4 kHz (r=0 .53 ,P<0 .01) .Conclusion In normal hearing young population ,SVR and tb-ABR can estimate PTA well , and the former is closer to PTA threshold .
3.EFFECTS OF TAURINE, QUINIDINE AND THEIR COMBINATION ON EXPERIMENTAL ARRHYTHMIAS INDUCED BY ACONITINE IN MICE

The constant iv. of aconitine can induce the varied arrhythmias in mice. Taurine 100mg/kg iv. or Quinidine 5 mg/kg iv. can delays the onset time of arrhythmias, and increases the dose of aconitine, respectively .But no effects were seen in mice pretreated with taurine 50mg/kg or quinidine 2.5mg/kg. However their combination can significantly decrease the incident of ventricular fibrillation and delay the onset time of death. Our results suggested that taurine, quinidine and their combination are effective on arrhythmias induced by aconitine in mice.
4.EFFECT OF TAURINE ON MODULATING CALCIUM OF CARDIAC MUSCLES IN RATS

The effect of Taurine ( Tau)on 45Ca influx of isolated left ventricular muscles in rats has been investigated. The 45Ca influx of the preparations untreated with Tau, are affected by the concentrations of calcium in KH solution. when the concentration of calcium is 0.62; 1.25; and 1.87mmol/L respectively, the 45Ca influx is 1.02? 0.25; 1.37?0.14 and 1.45?0.14 ?mol/g wet tissue, respectively. After adding Tau, the situations above were changed significantly. It was shown that is 1.11 ? 0.11, 1.45?0.12, and 1.48 ? 0.09 ?mol/g wet tissue in low Ca2?; 1.19?0.07, 1.14 ? 0.23, and 0.97?0.24 ?mol/g wet tissue in normal Ca2?; and 1.12?0.05,0.58?0.18 and 0.53?0.10 ?mol/g wet tissue in high Ca2? treated with Tau 10, 20, and 40 mmol/L, respectively. The results show that the varied ,Ca2? concentrations in KH solution can affect 45Ca influx of cardiac muscles, but Taurine has a bisphasic modulation o,f calcium influx in the same tissue. The effects of modulating calcium may play an important role for anti-arrhythmic mechanism of Taurine.

7.Preservation of anterior capsule during vitrectomy and lensectomy

AIM: To evaluate the preservation of anterior capsule during vitrectomy and lensectomy.ment (RD) and grade C proliferative vitreoretinopathy (PVR)underwent pars plana vitrectomy (PPV) and pars plana lensectomy (PPL) with preservation and polishing of the anterior capsule. Of the 15 eyes, 4 eyes had giant tear, 3 had recurrent rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (RRD), 2 had diabetic retinopathy. Totally 6 eyes had gas and 9 had silicone oil tamponade. The surgeries were evaluated according to the visual acuity (VA) and the postoperative complications during the follow-up of at least 3 months.in all eyes, improved by 3± 3 lines overall. Eight eyes were implanted posterior chamber intraocular lens (PCIOL) successfully at 2-3 months after operation, including 6 having gas and 2 having silicone oil tamponade. No eyes had central anterior capsule opacity, corneal decompensation, puplillary block, retina redetachment or other complications.an intact anterior capsule in eyes with RD and PVR. Preserving the anterior capsule can help preventing intraoperative and postoperative complications of gas or silicone oil, simplify future PCIOL placement, and maintaining a normal iris appearance.
8.Construction of tissue engineered adipose using human adipose stem cells with chitosan-modified silk fibroin

BACKGROUND:Based on the original advantages of silk fibroin, positive charged water-soluble chitosan modified silk fibroin is modified on surface and could improve celladhesion on the scaffolds. OBJECTIVE:To verify the biocompatibility of chitosan-modified silk fibroin with human adipose-derived stem cells (hADSCs), and feasibility of constructing tissue engineered adipose in vitro. METHODS:The hADSCs at passage 3 were seeded on chitosan-modified silk fibroin at the concentration of 1×107/L, as the experiment group;at the same cellconcentration, hADSCs were seeded in 96-wel plates as the control group. MTT tests were performed to evaluate the adhesion, growth and proliferation of hADSCs on chitosan-modified silk fibroin. Then hADSCs were implanted on the chitosan-modified silk fibroin scaffolds at the concentration of 1×109/L. The hADSCs seeded onto chitosan-modified silk fibroin complexes were respectively cultured with adipogenic differentiation medium and ordinary high-glucose DMEM. The complexes were stained with oil red O, and detected with RT-PCR after cultured 14 days. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:The hADSCs adhered to and proliferated on the scaffolds. After cultured with adipogenic differentiation medium for 14 days, oil red O staining demonstrated that there were amount of mature adipocytes on the scaffold. The peroxisome proliferator activated receptorγ2 was positively expressed. The chitosan-modified silk fibroin possessed excellent biocompatibility in vitro. 9.Effect of Total Flavonoids from Litchi chinensis Sonn on Expression of TGF-β1 Receptor and Collagen in Rats with Liver Fibrosis

Objective To observe the prevention and treatment of the total flavonoids from Litchi chinensis Sonn( TFL) on hepatic fibrosis induced by dimethylnitrosamine(DMN)in rats, and to explore its mechanism. Methods Ninety SD rats were randomly divided into six groups, normal control group, model control group, colchicine group, high-, medium- and low-dose TFL group(n=15).Expect for normal control group, the other groups were given intraperitoneal injection of 2 mL.kg-1 of 5% dimethylnitrosamine for 4 weeks as the model group. The rats in the normal control group and model control group were given 5 mL.kg-1of 0.9% sodium chloride solution, colchicine group was treated with 0.1 mg.kg-1 colchicine.High-, medium-and low-dose TFL groups were given 200, 100 and 50 mg.kg-1 of TFL.The rats were sacrificed and the livers were harvested and stained with HE and Masson staining to observe pathological changes and liver fibrosis in the same part 6 weeks after all the medicine was given to the rats each day. Immunohistochemistry and Western blotting were used to detect the expression of the transforming growth factor β-Ⅰ/type Ⅱ receptor ( TβRⅠ/Ⅱ) , collagen Ⅰ( Col Ⅰ) and Ⅲ collagen ( Col Ⅲ) . Results Compared with the normal control group, the semiquantitative score of liver fiber and the protein expression of TβRⅠ, TβRⅡ, ColⅠ and Col Ⅲ in the model control group were significantly increased(P<0.01).Compared with the model control group, the protein expression levels of TβR, TβRⅡ, ColⅠand ColⅢwere significantly decreased( P<0.01) in the high-,medium-and low-dose TFL group.The semiquantitative score of liver fiber was significantly decreased( P<0.01) with a dose-effect relationship. Conclusion TFL can inhibit formation of DMN-induced liver fibrosis in rats, which may be related with reduction of expression of TβRⅠ/Ⅱ of hepatic fibrosis promoting factor TGF-β1 , inhibition of the activation and increase of hepatic stellate cells, reduction of the collagen content.
10.Biocompatibility of Genipin cross-linked type I collagen with human adipose-derived stem cells in vitro

BACKGROUND:Low toxicity of Genipin has certain species and cellspecificity. Biocompatibility of Genipin cross-linked type I colagen with human adipose-derived stem cels is essential for construction of
tissue-engineered adipose.
OBJECTIVE:To investigate the bbiocompatibility of Genipin cross-linked type I colagen with human adipose-derived stem cels.
METHODS:Human adipose-derived stem cels were isolated and cultured to the third generation, and the cels were seeded on Genipin cross-linked type I colagen scaffold. MTT assay was used to evaluate the adhesion and proliferation of cels on the scaffold, and the toxic effects of Genipin cross-linked type I colagen on human
adipose-derived stem cels. Optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopy were utilized to observe the adhesion and growth process of human adipose-derived stem cels on the scaffold as wel as the morphological changes of cels.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Human adipose-derived stem cels could adhere to the scaffold immediately
after seeded and increase gradualy on the scaffold, with the average adhesion rate of 86.5%. Optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopy showed that human adipose-derived stem cels adhered wel on the scaffold. The cels increased gradualy over time, and could migrate into the scaffold, and distribute evenly with the passage of time when observed with optical microscopy. The result showed Genipin possesses very low cytotoxicity to the cels, and the outstanding biocompatibility is found between the cels and scaffoldin vitro after cross-linked with Genipin.
