1.Correlation between variants of leukotriene A4 hydrolase gene and risk of ischemic stroke in population of southern Zhejiang Province

Objective To investigate the correlation between two single nucleotide polymorphisms of the leukotriene A4 hydrolase (LTA4H) gene (rs2660845 and rs2540493) and risk of ischemic stroke in population of southern Zhejiang Province.Methods A total of 300 ischemic stroke patients and 300 healthy controls,recruited from the Department of Neurology,Third Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University between September 2010 and June 2013,were enrolled in this study.Two single nucleotide polymorphisms of the LTA4H gene (rs2660845 and rs2540493) were analyzed by polymerase chain reaction and matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time of flight,respectively.Sixty-seven patients and thirty controls were randomly selected (complete randomization) and detected the serum leukotriene B4 (LTB4)concentration by ELISA method.Results There was no evidence of association between the two variants of LTA4H gene and the risk of ischemic stroke or its TOAST (Trial of Org 10 172 in acute stroke treatment)subtypes (P > 0.05).Analysis of LTB4 levels revealed that there was no statistically significant difference in serum LTB4 concentration between patients (n =67) and controls (n =30; 0.991 ± 0.305 vs 1.035 ± 0.498 ; P =0.692),and no statistically significant difference in LTB4 concentration was found among the three genotypes of rs2660845 as well (AG genotype vs AA genotype vs GG genotype:0.938 ± 0.269 vs 1.038 ± 0.268 vs 1.043 ± 0.383 ; P =0.401).Conclusion The present study suggests that there is no association between the two polymorphisms in the LTA4H gene and risk of ischemic stroke in population of southern Zhejiang Province.
2.Application of digital teaching system in the teaching of onlay abutment teeth preparation

Objective:To investigate the application of digital teaching system in the teaching of onlay abutment teeth preparation for trainees receiving standardized residency training of stomatology (abbreviated as "resident trainees").Methods:The digital simulation teaching system unit was established by using the tissue morphology memory characteristics of 3Shape Trios oral scanner and Geomagic Control X 3D imaging design software. Eighteen resident trainees from the Daping Hospital were randomly divided into two groups, nine in the control group, preparing the onlay resin tooth model independently after taking the routine PPT + demonstration operation teaching; the other nine in the test group, preparing onlay model after learning digitization teaching system unit. All resident trainees prepared on three models respectively. After the teaching, the amounts of preparation and polymerization degree were compared between the two groups, making a summary teaching evaluation. Amounts of preparation, polymerization degree and teaching satisfaction were tested by independent-samples t-test with software SPSS 21.0. Results:Compared with the resident trainees in control group, the t values of width difference of buccal shoulder, lingual shoulder, proximal middle shoulder and distal middle shoulder, height difference of functional cusp and the lowest part of the proximal middle fossa, and degree of buccal polymerization, lingual polymerization and distal polymerization were 6.21, 6.12, 3.83, 4.73, 3.73, 4.79, 8.35, 4.35, and 6.69 respectively , while P values were respectively as <0.001, <0.001, <0.001, <0.001, 0.001, <0.001, <0.001, <0.001, and <0.001, with statistical difference ( P<0.05) . The t values of height difference of non-functional cusp, the lowest part of the distal middle fossa and degree of proximal polymerization were 1.02, 1.97, and 1.43, while P values were respectively 0.312, 0.054, and 0.158, with no statistical difference ( P>0.05). All indicators of teaching satisfaction were statistically significant ( P<0.05). Conclusions:The application of digital teaching system is conducive to improving the onlay abutment teeth preparation level of residents with high teaching satisfaction, which is worth promoting in clinical practice.
3.Distribution of patterns,pattern elements and the relationship between common patterns and corresponding symptoms/signs:a modern litera-ture study on common hand-foot-mouth disease

Objective Through retrospective study of latest 20 years’modern literature related to com-mon hand-foot-mouth disease,the distribution of pattern elements and the relationship between common patterns and corresponding symptoms /signs were analyzed,so as to provide the basis for standardization of TCM pattern differentiation for hand-foot-mouth disease.Methods “hand-foot-mouth disease”OR“hand-foot-mouth”AND “pattern”OR“Chinese medicine”were used as subject words in CNKI,Wan-fang and VIP database to retrieve the relevant literature.Search results were input to establish the stand-ard database by using Epidata 3.0 software,then frequency of symptoms,pattern and pattern elements logistic regression analysis were analyzed by SPSS 17.0.Results The leading symptoms and signs of common hand-foot-mouth disease were rash,fever and anorexia.The common patterns were damp-heat pattern of lung and spleen,pattern of stagnation and steaming of damp-heat and pattern of pathogen inva-ding lung-defense phase.The disease-locations with high frequency were lung,spleen and defense and the disease-natures with high frequency were damp-heat and heat.After Logistic regression analysis,the symptoms/signs of damp-heat pattern of lung and spleen were slobbering and purple venule of index fin-ger,those of pattern of stagnation and steaming of damp-heat were thick tongue coating,high fever and dark,thick venule of index finger,and those of pattern of pathogen invading lung-defense phase were running nose and cough.Conclusion The common patterns types of common hand-foot-mouth disease were damp-heat pattern of lung and spleen,pattern of stagnation and steaming of damp-heat and pattern of pathogen invading lung-defense phase.And the common location elements were lung,spleen and de-fense with the common nature elements of damp-heat and heat.
4.Comparison of Four-hook Needle and Memory Alloy Coil in Localization of Pulmonary Nodules.

BACKGROUND:
With the extensive development of minimally invasive surgery for pulmonary nodules, preoperative localization becomes more and more critical. There are some defects in traditional localization methods, so it is necessary to improve. The aim of this study was to compare and analyze the safety and effectiveness of two new methods, namely four-hook needle and memory alloy coil, in the localization of pulmonary nodules.
METHODS:
A retrospective analysis of 152 patients was performed. 76 cases were in four-hook needle group, and 76 cases were in memory alloy coil group. Pulmonary nodules were located before operation, and then video-assisted wedge resection was performed. The average procedure time, localization complications and nodule resection time were counted.
RESULTS:
The target pulmonary nodules were successfully removed in both groups. In four-hook needle group, 76 patients found localization devices, all the pulmonary nodules were successfully removed, and one case was transferred to open the chest for wedge resection of pulmonary nodules due to severe thoracic adhesion. All 76 patients in memory alloy coil group were successfully resected with pulmonary nodules, and one patient underwent compromising enlarged resection because no lesion was found after the specimen was removed during the operation. There was no significant difference in the incidence of pneumothorax and pulmonary hemorrhage, the success rate of localization and nodule wedge resection time between the two groups. The average time of localization in four-hook needle group was (13.66±3.11) min, lower than that of memory alloy coil group (15.51±3.65) min, and the difference was statistically significant (P=0.001). In memory alloy coil group, when the distance from the nodule to the pleura was ≥1.5 cm and <1.5 cm, the average localization time was (17.20±4.46) min and (14.91±3.15) min, respectively, and there was a statistical difference between the two distance (P=0.044).
CONCLUSIONS
Four-hook needle and memory alloy coil have good safety and effectiveness, and the localization time of four-hook needle is shorter. When using memory alloy coil, the effect of the method is better for pulmonary nodules with a distance less than 1.5 cm to pleura.
