Boosting spatial resolution of visual prostheses is an effective method to improve implant subjects' visual perception. However, power consumption of visual implants greatly rises with the increasing number of implanted electrodes. In respond to this trend, visual prostheses need to develop high-efficiency wireless power transmission and high-speed data transmission. This paper presents a review of current research progress on wireless power and data transmission for visual prostheses, analyzes relative principles and requirement, and introduces design methods of power and data transmission.

Objective: Compare merits and drawbacks of existing ablative and non-ablative rejuvenation technologies, and complete study and design of a skin rejuvenation device based on a new rejuvenation mechanism using broad-spectrum infrared light (1100 nm ~1800nm). Methods: This article firstly presents skin rejuvenation mechanism based on the broad-spectrum infrared light, and then independently design by using corresponding systems at home and abroad for reference to make a high-quality device with lower costs compared to international corresponding systems. The device has a modular architecture design including system control module, power module, infrared emission, human machine interface, water circulating cooling and switch control module. The article details three key points in design: how to generate the required infrared pulsed light, human machine interface and anti-interference design. Results: The article gave the architecture diagram and human machine interface. The technical parameters measured by experiments satisfied the design requirements and the device can be used in clinics. Its stability, reliability and energy uniformity all meet requirements of infrared rejuvenation treatment. Conclusion: The device will have good applying prospect and market prospect in medical cosmetics.

According to analyses of the real-time performance of the visual prosthesis image processing system, down-sampling is a key factor which influences the processing speed. Based on these analyses, the algorithm of grid sampled averaging was proposed for down-sampling. Then the effect of grid parameters on the result and algorithm complexity was evaluated by using the regional-averaging algorithm as a reference. Our research shows that the grid-averaging algorithm could reduce the computation burden by 90% or more, with no significant difference from the regional-averaging algorithm.

Chinese Journal of Medical Instrumentation 2011;35(4):239-245
A wireless transmission system for visual prosthesis is introduced. Power and data are transmitted through inductive link between only one pair of coils, in order to reduce the size of the device. The transmitter is based on Class-E power amplifier due to its high efficiency, and a modulation circuit is added to control the dc supply of the Class-E amplifier to achieve ASK modulation of data with modulation depth of 25%. In addition, an experimental system is implemented, and test shows that it sufficiently supports a 16-channel micro-stimulator on power delivery and data transfer rate.

Objective To understand the malaria epidemic situation in Hubei Province from 2010 to 2014,so as to provide the evidence for formulating the effective malaria elimination strategies and measures in this province. Methods The data from the Disease Reporting Information System of Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention were collected and analyzed with the descriptive epidemiological method for the epidemiological characteristics of malaria in Hubei Province from 2010 to 2014. Results A total of 997 malaria cases were reported in Hubei Province from 2010 to 2014,there were 618 cases of vivax malaria,352 cases of falciparum malaria,18 cases of Plasmodium ovale infection, and 9 cases of Plasmodium malariae infec?tion. Among all the reported cases,479 were local cases and 518 were imported cases. No local malaria cases were reported from Hubei Province since 2013. The overall imported malaria cases showed a gradual increasing trend from 2010 to 2014,the pro?portion of falciparum malaria increased quite significantly from 2010 to 2014. The malaria cases were mainly distributed in Xiangyang,Wuhan,Xiaogan,Yichang,Jingmen and Suizhou cities, reaching 81.85%of the cases of the whole province. There were 810 male cases and 187 female cases, with a sex ratio of 4.33∶1. The local malaria cases were mainly aged from 40 to 69 years, accounted for 78.29%of the total local cases, and 88.22%(457/518)of the whole local cases were concentrated in 20-49 age groups. The local cases were mainly farmers(67.01%). Among the imported malaria cases, the occupation distribution concentrated mainly on the worker, migrant worker, and farmer(63.90%). Conclusions The local malaria epidemic situation has been effectively controlled in Hubei Province, which reflects the initiative achievements of malaria elimination. However, there are still many imported malaria cases from abroad. Therefore, the imported malaria from abroad still remains the key of ma?laria control in Hubei Province.

In this paper, experiments were designed for inducing neutral, terrified, excited, annoying emotions, and also low, middle, high, three levels of tension emotions of stress state, respectively. Based on the multi physiological signals generated by the subjects in emotions, such as heart rate and respiration rate and so on, we extracted features from these data which had been eliminated the baseline. Then the Particle Swarm Optimization method was adopted to optimize the features selection from the features of multi physiological signals, and combined with k-Nearest Neighbor algorithm, different emotions and varying degree tensions were classified. The result shows that the classification accuracy of the kNN method with SPO and baseline eliminated is better than the traditional kNN method.

Chinese Journal of Geriatrics 2019;38(9):1002-1005
Objective:
To investigate the levels of vitamin D and the correlation between DPN and vitamin D in elderly patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathy(DPN).
Methods:
A total of 849 patients aged 60 years and over admitted into endocrinology department from June 2016 to September 2017 were enrolled in this retrospective case-control study.According to DPN diagnostic criteria, patients were divided into the non-DPN group(n=542)and the DPN group(n=307). The 25(OH)-vitamin D[25(OH)D]level and blood biochemical parameters were determined and compared between the two groups. The risk factors for DPN were analyzed using logistic regression analysis and plotting receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curves.
Results:
The mean of serum 25(OH)D level in the 849 patients was 43.9±19.4 nmol/L.Serum 25(OH)D level was lower in the DPN patients than in the non-DPN patients[(40.9±20.4)nmol/L

9.Research progress of new intravesical therapies for non-muscle invasive bladder cancer
Journal of Modern Urology 2024;29(6):560-565
Bladder cancer is one of the most common urinary tumors. About 70% of the cases are non-muscle invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) at the time of initial diagnosis while the recurrence rate is as high as 31% to 78% within 5 years. Furthermore, 17% to 45% of the patients will develop muscle-invasive bladder cancer (MIBC) later. At present, the traditional chemical drugs and BCG intravesical therapy can no longer meet the clinical needs, and some systematic treatments have been applied to the patients with BCG failure. In recent years, a variety of new intravesical therapies, including immune gene therapy, photodynamic treatment and new combination of drugs and equipment, have been put into clinical applications. This article will review the novel research progress and provide a new direction for the treatment of NMIBC.

Journal of Modern Urology 2023;28(9):818-821
Bladder cancer is one of the most common urinary tumors, and human urinary tract has been proved to be non-sterile. The significance of urinary tract flora in pathophysiology and treatment of urothelial carcinoma remains to be studied. Meanwhile, intestinal flora has also become an important clinical factor, which has been proved to play a variety of roles in body metabolism, local and systemic inflammation and immunity. Microorganisms can affect the clinical course of cancer, efficacy of chemotherapy and immunotherapy drugs, bioavailability and side effects. This review will explore the relationship between bladder cancer and urinary tract and intestinal microbiome, and explore reliable disease predictors, prognostic indicators and therapeutic targets through a better understanding of the interaction between the microbiome and tumor cells.
