Objective:The aim of this study was to observe the role of NO in the action of tetramethylpyrazine (TMP) on arterioles vasomotion induced by noradrenaline (NA), in order to make further understand of vasodilation mechanism of TMP.Methods: Albino rabbits weighting 2.0 ~ 2.5 kg were anesthetized. They were ventilated with room air via tracheotomy tube. The arterial pressure was monitored with a pressure transducer attached to a polyethylene canula in the right common carotid artery by four channel polygraph, the intestinal loop was mounted on the stage of an inverted microscope and bathed in balanced Kreb Ringer solution maintained at 37.5 ?C . The inside diameter of arterioles were measured manully on a TV monitor using a TV camera mounted on the microscope. Observe the changes of BP、 microcirculation and filtration of true capillary after injection of TMP 8mg/kg、 N G monomethyl L arginine( L NMMA) 10mg via a cannula in the left carotid artery after topical application of NA(0.8?g) conducted in the measured field. Results:TMP can inhibit spontaneous vasomotion in vasodilation; L NMMA can inhibit it in vasoconstriction stage. L NMMA have no effect on the action of TMP. Conclusions: Endogenous NO has no role in TMP's vasodilation.

OBJECTIVETo study the effect of stigma maydis polysaccharide (SMPS) on gastrointestinal movement.
METHODTaking charcoal as the indicator and taking ratio of charcoal movement, beginning time of black excretion and stool amount as the index to observe the effect of SMPS on intestinal movement in mice. Taking emthylorange as the indicator and taking the ratio of residual rate of methylorange as the index to observe the effect of SMPS on gastric emptying in mice. Taking methylene blue as the indicator and taking the time of gastric emptying and movement speed of intestinal content as the index to observe the effect of SMPS on gastrointestinal movement in rats. Observing the changes of cholecystokinin (CCK) level in plasm in rats.
RESULTCompared with control, the ratio of charcoal movement increased in mice (P <0.01). The beginning time of black excretion shortened and the stool amount increased in mice (P <0.01). The ratio of residual rate of methylorange increased in mice (P <0. 01). The time of gastric emptying prolonged in rats (P <0.01). The movement speed of intestinal content in rats accelerated (P <0.01). CCK level in plasm increased in rats (P < 0.05).
CONCLUSIONEffects of stigma maydis polysaccharide on gastrointestinal movement are probably related to the increasing of CCK level in plasm.

Objective To assess the efficiency of total laminectomy and transpedicular screw placement techniques and a thoroughly decompression with a three column fixation device on the early cervical spine cord injury. Methods 27 patients were operated successfully with total cervical laminectomy through transpedicular screw techniques.Precise measurements of all cervical spines were made by postoperative CT scan of pedicle dimensions, angulation, and offset relative to the lateral mass boundaries. And meanwhile, cortical integrity and neurovascular injury were then assessed by obtaining postoperative computed tomography scans of each patient. Results Using manual techniques,220 pedicles were instrumented and all the cases were followed up between three to twenty-four months. The postoperative gradations were obviously better than the preoperative evaluation.Regardless of the technique used, the vertebral artery was the structure most likely to be injured. Conclusion Insufficient correlation between different surgeons' assessments of surface landmarks attests to the inadequacy of screw insertion techniques in the cervical spine based on such specific topographic. At the early stage of cervical spinal cord injury, using total laminonectomy decompression through cervical screws techniques to reconstruct spinal alignment could improve the prognosis of patients.

OBJECTIVETo increase the success rate of surgical treatment in patients with hypospadias.
METHODS220 cases of hypospadias underwent one-stage urethra plasty. After the penis was straightened, urethra plasty was performed with pediculated preputial entoplastron (Duckett's method) in 195 cases; with combination of scrotal septum and pediculated preputial entoplastron in 20 cases; with free bladder mucosa transplantation in 2 cases. The self-made dual silastic tubes with lateral mini-holes were applied to support new urethra in all the cases.
RESULTSThe patients were followed up for 1 - 8 years. 208 cases achieved successful results. There were 2 cases of urethral fistula, 6 cases of urethral stenosis at anastomosis site, 4 cases of stenosis at urethral orifice.
CONCLUSIONSThe success rate (94.5%) suggests great advantages of the self-made dual tube with lateral mini-holes to support new urethra. It can facilitate drainage and irrigation and reduce the complications such as infection, fistula and stenosis.

OBJECTIVETo study Chinese medicine (CM) signs and symptoms of urethane-induced lung cancer in mice, and observe the effect of Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata and Taraxaci Herba on symptoms in mice and tumor progress.
METHODThe mice were intraperitoneally injected with urethane twice a week for consecutively five weeks to establish a lung cancer model. The changes in their appearance, body temperature and auricle microcirculation were observed in carcinogenic process. CM signs and symptoms of urethane-induced lung cancer in mice were evaluated with energy metabolism, erythrocytic ATP emzymatic activity and hemorrheological index. During the tumor model was induced, Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata and Taraxaci Herba were used to treat the mice and observe their effect on symptoms in mice and tumor progress.
RESULTDuring urethane was used to induce lung cancer, the mice had gradually become chill, lazy, hunched, with reduction in temperature, cyanosis in auricle and tail. Meanwhile, their energy metabolism and erythrocytic ATP enzymatic activity reduced, whereas their whole blood viscosity and erythrocytic aggregate index increased. Taraxaci Herba showed an effect on enhancing above symptoms and signs but had no effect on tumor progress. Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata showed an effect on reducing above symptoms and signs and preventing tumor progress.
CONCLUSIONMice with urethane-induced lung cancer show CM signs and symptoms of congealing cold with blood stasis. The treatment with Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata can alleviate symptoms and signs in mice and prevent tumor progress.

This study is to observe whether platycodin D has the guiding role in treatment of mouse lung cancer with doxorubicin and explore its guiding mechanism. In vitro, platycodin D and doxorubicin(alone or in combination) were added into Lewis lung cancer(LLC) cells to detect the cell proliferation and doxorubicin uptake. Cell morphological changes were analyzed by cell holographic analysis system; cell gap junctional intercellular communication(GJIC) was tested by fluorescent yellow tracer; lyso-tracker red was used to examine lysosomal function; LC-3 B(Light chain 3 beta)and P62(heat shock 90-like protein)staining were used to test auto-phagy and autophagic degradation respectively; and P-glycoprotein(P-gp) expression was examined by Western blot. In vivo, lung solid tumor was formed in mouse LLC cells via intravenous injection. Platycodin D and doxorubicin(alone or in combination) were used to treat tumor-bearing mice for four weeks, and then the tumor size was examined, mouse survival time was recorded, doxorubicin uptake in lung tissues was tested, and lung tissues were stained for observation by HE(hematoxylin-eosin) and immunohistochemistry. The results showed that platycodin D at the experimental concentration had no effect on LLC cell proliferation but decreased LLC cell volume, promoted the cells to uptake doxorubicin and enhanced the inhibitory action of doxorubicin on cell proliferation. Platycodin D could promote GJIC and lysosomal function, increase autophagy and autophagic degradation and suppress P-gp expression. Platycodin D at the experimental dose in this study had no effect on LLC lung solid tumors in mice, increased doxorubicin uptake in lung tissues and enhanced the therapeutic efficacy of doxorubicin on lung solid tumors. Platycodin D could improve the extracellular matrix deposition in lung solid tumors, decreased the lung mucin 5 AC secretion and pulmonary vessel permeability. In summary, platycodin D had the guiding role in treating mouse lung cancer with doxorubicin, and its guiding mechanism may be associated with the promotion of cell communication, lysosomal function, and improvement of extracellular environment.
