The aim of this paper is to introduce the status quo of teaching medical English terminology for the students of medical English major in medical school and some strategies applied for improving the teaching quality of medical English terminology such as adding background knowledge, motivating learners' interest, optimizing teaching contents, using visual instruction by using internet and multimedia, and developing students' autonomic learning ability in learning medical vocabulary.
4.English teaching of medical postgraduates based on needs analysis
Chinese Journal of Medical Education Research 2011;10(8):992-994
ObjectiveTo apply the 'Needs Analysis' theory to the medical English teaching for medical postgraduates so as to improve their interest in learning English. MethodsRegarding the learners' needs on medical English reading, a questionnaire survey was conducted among postgraduates, and based on the results of the survey we added medical English reading to the comprehensive English teaching in the English teaching. ResultsMedical postgraduates showed great interest in learning English and their ability in reading medical English reading has been improved significantly. ConclusionEnglish teaching based on learners' needs analysis can help motivate learners' interest and improve their ability in learning English.
5.Experimental study on the effectiveness of applying Chunk Theory in the acquisition of medical English words
Chinese Journal of Medical Education Research 2005;0(06):-
To study the effectiveness of chunk theory in the acquisition of medical English words. The learners in 6 classes were instructed to learn medical English words by dividing them into chunks based on the pronunciation, morph and meaning.Chunk theory-based method was proved to be effective in the acquisition of medical English words for it can help motivate learners'interest in learning medical English words and enhance their ability in reading medical English literature.
6.The Value of Grammar-Translation Method in the Teaching of Medical English Reading
Chinese Journal of Medical Education Research 2003;0(04):-
It goes without saying that medical English reading teaching should be conducted in English. However, medical reading involves too many abstract words and concepts and long and complicated difficult sentences that are difficult to explain in English, therefore,to facilitate medical English reading, sometimes Grammar-translation is indispensable. This paper elaborates the features of medical English reading teaching and the value of grammar-translation method in medical English teaching.
7.Application of Needs Analysis Theory to the Medical English Teaching for Medical Corps Assigned to Papua New Guinea
Chinese Journal of Medical Education Research 2006;0(09):-
Objective:To apply the Needs Analysis theory to the medical English teaching of Chinese medical corps(11 clinicians) assigned to Papua New Guinea. Methods:The teaching contents were arranged based on the questionnaire survey on the 11 students.A learner-centered interactive teaching method was adopted.Resutls:After training in our school for half a year, the 11 students had a significant improvement in medical English level, including the four skills-listening,speaking,reading and writing.Conclusiong:Needs analysis is necessary in the ESP(English for specific purposes)teaching.

Objective:The aim of this study was to observe the role of NO in the action of tetramethylpyrazine (TMP) on arterioles vasomotion induced by noradrenaline (NA), in order to make further understand of vasodilation mechanism of TMP.Methods: Albino rabbits weighting 2.0 ~ 2.5 kg were anesthetized. They were ventilated with room air via tracheotomy tube. The arterial pressure was monitored with a pressure transducer attached to a polyethylene canula in the right common carotid artery by four channel polygraph, the intestinal loop was mounted on the stage of an inverted microscope and bathed in balanced Kreb Ringer solution maintained at 37.5 ?C . The inside diameter of arterioles were measured manully on a TV monitor using a TV camera mounted on the microscope. Observe the changes of BP、 microcirculation and filtration of true capillary after injection of TMP 8mg/kg、 N G monomethyl L arginine( L NMMA) 10mg via a cannula in the left carotid artery after topical application of NA(0.8?g) conducted in the measured field. Results:TMP can inhibit spontaneous vasomotion in vasodilation; L NMMA can inhibit it in vasoconstriction stage. L NMMA have no effect on the action of TMP. Conclusions: Endogenous NO has no role in TMP's vasodilation.

AIM AND METHODS: To explore the effects calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) and endothelin-1(ET-1) on the mechanisms of hypoxic pulmonary hypertension (HPH),the contents of CGRP and ET-1 in plasma of pulmonary artery and thoracic aorta and in extractives of lung and ventricular tissues of the chronic hypoxic rats were determined by radioimmunoassay. The changes of their hemodynamic indices and right heart hypertrophy index were monitored simultaneously. RESULTS: The level of pulmonary artery plasma CGRP was significantly higher than that of thoracic aorta plasma, but just the reverse was ET-1 or the ratio of ET-1 and CGRP in control rats( P

Objective To explore the diagnostic significance of Xpert MTB/RIF in cerebrospinal fluid, and evaluate the application for early diagnosis of tuberculous meningitis(TBM).Methods Sixty cases of TBM and 30 cases of non-TBM patients were selected as our subjects.Xpert MTB/RIF and modified Ziehl-Neelsen stain were performed in cerebrospinal fluid. The detection rate of the system and the resistance of the patients were analyzed. Results Eleven cases were diagnosed as the positive cases in 60 cases with TBM,and 0 case was diagnosed as TBM in control group.Sensitivity and specificity of Xpert with TBM were 18.33% and 100%,respectively.The difference of the two groups was statistically significant (P =0.014).The positive rate of definite group was 23.68%(9 cases),18.18%(2 cases) in probable group and 0% in possible group, and the difference of the three groups was statistically significant(x2 =3.070,P>0.05).The resistance rate was 36.36% (4/11).Sensitivity of the modified Ziehl-Neelsen staín was 63.33% (38/60).Eleven cases were detected positive by Xpert MTB/RIF,9 cases were positive with modified acid fast staining, and the positive rate was 18.33%,and the difference of the two methods was statistically significant (P =0.000).Conclusion Xpert MTB/RIF test is simple and rapid diagnostic method. The combination of Xpert MTB/RIF and modified ZiehlNeelsen stain will improve the efficiency of the early diagnosis of TBM.
