Objectives To describe the esthetic acceptance to dental fluorosis in the rural residents of eastern Guangdong Province and to explore whether the Dean's criteria is still suitable for modern society. Methods A survey was conducted in eastern areas of Guangdong Province in 1 237 cases of 9~17 and 35~44 years old rural residents who drank well water containing 0.1~2.5 mg/L of fluoride. Clinical examination and questionnaire investigation were performed to record dental fluorosis and the severity of perceived appearance of their teeth. Results While the study subjects perceived the appearance of their teeth as " no problem", the community fluorosis index (CFI) was 0.5 and prevalence rate of dental fluorosis was 10.1 %. While perceived "a little bit bad" and "bad" and "very bad", the CFI and prevalence rate would be 0.9 and 33.7 %, 1.3 and 75.8 % and 1.7 and 98.2 % respectively. Conclusion The acceptance to the severity was basically in accordance with Dean's criteria. The Dean's criteria about dental fluorosis is still suitable for rural areas of eastern Guangdong Province and therefore it can be used in setting criteria of fluoride concentration in drinking water in these areas.

Objective To observe the effect of Gongxuening for the women placing the IUDafter cesarean section, and to analyze the effect and value of Gongxuening on intrauterine device placement after cesarean section. Methods 156 women who received voluntary intrauterine device after cesarean sectionin theShengzhou Maternal and Child Health Hospital of Shaoxing, Zhejiang were as the observation object. According to whether the application of Gongxuening, they were divided into two groupsafter treatment, the Gongxuening group of 75 cases (using Gongxuening + Nifloxacin) and the control group of 81 cases (using norfloxacin). The changes of serum inflammatory indexes were compared between the two groups before and after operation, and the uterine bleeding was compared between the two groups. Results After operation, the levels of tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), interleukin-6 (IL-6) and interleukin-10 (IL-10) were with a significantfluctuation, and at the same time, Gongxuening group TNF-α, IL-6, IL-10, 24hours after surgery, postoperative 7d was significantly lower than the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P< 0.05). After treatment, the WBC of Gongxuening group 24hours after surgery, postoperative 7d was significantly lower than the control group, but the Hb 24 hours after surgey was significantly higher than the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The bleeding volume2h, 24h, bleeding stop time and puerperium duration in the Gongxuening group were significantlylower than the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion After cesarean section maternal IUD use Gongxuening capsule treatment, not only can effectively inhibit the expression of serum inflammatory markers, and can shorten the time of uterine bleeding, reduce bleeding, prevent postoperative anemia. It is suggested to pay more attention to clinical treatment.

West China Journal of Stomatology 2001;19(1):38-40
Objective: The objectives were to explore the optimal concentration of drinking water in Eastern Guangdong and to provide information for the health administrative department to set up the criteria for fluoride concentration. Methods: Totally 1237 9~ 17 and 35~44 years old residents in Eastern Guangdong who drinking water containing 0.1~2.5mg/L fluoride were recruited to investigate the occurrences of dental caries and dental fluorosis. Their background information and perceived appearances of teeth were also recorded. Results: The major factor influencing dental fluorosis was fluoride concentration in drinking water. Dental caries decreased when the fluoride concentration increased but dental fluorosis also increased at the same time. It was showed by calculation that the Dental Fluorosis Index would be 0.4 and 0.6 when the fluoride concentration was 0.57 mg/L and 0.7 mg/L respectively. The acceptation to the severity of dental fluorosis among the study subjects was in accordance with the Dean's criteria. Conclusion: It suggests that the optimal fluoride concentration in Eastern Guangdong is 0.57 mg/L and should not exceed the upper limit of 0.7 mg/L.

Objective:To explore the differences in intravascular ultrasound results in elderly coronary heart disease(CHD)patients with different uric acid levels. Methods:A total of 145 elderly patients diagnosed with CHD in our hospital from December 2017 to May 2020 were included as study subjects.Uric acid levels were measured and intravascular ultrasound examination was conducted in all patients. They were divided into different groups based on uric acid levels: Group A(uric acid≤199 μmol/L), Group B(uric acid 200~399 μmol/L)and Group C(uric acid≥400 μmol/L). Data from intravascular ultrasound-derived indexes were analyzed and compared between the three groups. Results:There was no significant difference in the degree of left main stenosis between Group A and Group B, but it was less severe in both groups than in Group C( F=5.625, P=0.039). Plaque fibrous cap thickness showed no significant difference between Group B and Group C, but it was smaller than in Group A( F=7.825, P=0.020). Group C had the largest plaque area and maximum thickness among the three groups, followed by Group B[(11.12±1.73)mm 2 and(1.76±0.24)mm]and Group A[(8.29±3.14)mm 2 and(1.38±0.09)mm]( F=6.384 and 6.827, P=0.028 and 0.015). Conclusions:Elevated uric acid levels in elderly CHD patients can increase the area and thickness of plaques, and reduce plaque fibrous cap thickness, leading to an increased risk of formation of unstable plaques, which can be life-threatening for these patients. Thus, monitoring and managing uric acid levels should be stressed in elderly CHD patients.

Objective The aims of this study were to determine the expression of Ki-67 and PTEN in oral adenoid cystic carcinoma( OACC) and its relationship with clinicopathological features, and to explore the re-lationship between the expression of Ki-67 and PTEN. Methods Forty cases of oral adenoid cystic carcinoma were collected from the pathological laboratory in our hospital. Another 15 cases of normal gland in patients with oral adenoid cystic carcinoma were selected as the control group. The expression of Ki-67 protein and PTEN in adenoid cystic carcinoma was detected by immunohistochemistry. Results The positive rate of Ki-67 protein in oral adenoid cystic carcinoma was 70%(28/40),which was significantly higher than that in the control group(2/15)(P<0. 05). The positive rate of PTEN in oral adenoid cystic carcinoma was 63%(25/40),which was signif-icantly higher than that in the control group 20%(3/15)(P <0. 05). They were associated with histological types, metastasis, lymph node metastasis and neural invasion, and not correlated with age, gender and tumor loca-tion. The expression of Ki-67 and PTEN in oral adenoid cystic carcinoma may have a significant correlation. Conclusion The expression of Ki-67 and PTEN in adenoid cystic carcinoma is high, and their occurrence and development in adenoid cystic carcinoma play an important role in the process of evolution and metastasis. Ki-67 and PTEN proteins may be markers of oral adenoid cystic carcinoma.
