Chinese Acupuncture & Moxibustion 2015;35(5):489-492
Through the consultation of TCM ancient classical theory, the relationship of kidney essence, marrow and brain is analyzed. It is discovered that the degenerative brain diseases, represented by Alzheimer's disease (AD) and Parkinson's disease (PD) share the same etiological basis as "kidney essence deficiency and brain marrow emptiness" and have the mutual pathological outcomes as yang qi declining. The Governor Vessel gathers yang qi of the whole body and maintains the normal functional activity of zangfu organs in the human body through the storage, regulation and invigoration of yang qi. It is viewed that the theory of the Governor Vessel is applied to treat the different degenerative brain diseases, which provides the theoretic support and practice guide for the thought of TCM as the same therapeutic program for the different diseases. As a result, the degenerative brain diseases can be retarded and the approach is provided to the effective prevention and treatment of degenerative diseases in central nerve system:

International Journal of Surgery 2011;38(1):59-62
As a transmembrane protein, β-amyloid precursor protein(β-APP) distributes extensively in the central nervous system, has the effect of neurotrophic, and neuroprotective, promote neurite growth and synaptogenesis, β-amyloid(Aβ) is the digestion products of its precursor-APP in the pathological conditions, and it is the main component of senile plaques-the main pathological changes of Alzheimer' s disease (AD), its toxic effects can also induce neuronal apoptosis, The expression of the two proteins after brain injuried has a close relationship with the injury, cognitive dysfunction, Alzheimer' s disease and the pathophysiological changes of central nervous system. To explore its expression in the brain after traumatic brain injury can determine the degree of injury, assess the prognosis and open up new avenues for the treatment of traumatic brain injury.

Objective To investigate the regulation of immune function in patients with acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) by the secretion of T cell 1 (Th1) gamma interferon gamma (IFN-γ) in patients with acquired immune deficiency syndrome. Methods From January 2011 to January 2014, 20 cases of laboratory-confirmed AIDS patients were collected for research. Patients with AIDS received highly active anti-retroviral therapy (HAART group), while 20 healthy volunteers were selected as control group. Before receiving highly active anti-retroviral treatment in six months and 12 months , the patients with AIDS were collected in blood study of peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) in separated culture group and IFN-γ co-culture group for testing culture differential expression of cytokines and immune cells in solution. Results Before treatment in 6 months and 12 months , the supernatants in the cultured alone group and IFN-γ co-culture group by IL-12, IL-21 levels were significantly lower than that in the healthy group (P < 0.05); After treatment in 6 months and 12 months , the supernatants in the IFN-γ co-culture group by IL-12 and IL-21 levels were significantly higher than that in the cultured alone group (PP < 0.05). Before treatment in 6 months and 12 months, the level of IP-10 and CD4 + CD25 + Foxp3Treg cells in the cultured alone group and IFN-γ co-culture group, were significantly higher than the healthy group (P < 0.05); After treatment in 6 months and 12 months, the supernatant in the IFN-γ co-culture group was significantly higher than the average in the cultured alone group in IP-10; CD4 + CD25 + Foxp3Treg cells in the IFN-γ co-culture group were significantly lower than that in the cultured alone group (P < 0.05). Conclusion Patients with AIDS received highly active anti-retroviral therapy can improve the immunity. IFN-γ may further stimulate the secretion of immune cytokine in patients with AIDS.
