China Medical Equipment 2017;14(2):77-79
Objective:To observe the effect of emergency airway established by laryngeal mask for cerebral protection, and to popularize using laryngeal mask for establishing emergency airway in cardiopulmonary resuscitation(CPR) among paramedics. Methods:To compare the rescuing effect, 49 cases of patients with cardiac arrest were divided into 2 groups as different rescue method: laryngeal mask group (23 cases), emergency airway established by laryngeal mask airway(LMA); face mask group (26 cases). Results: After aerating 5 minutes, the average oxyhemoglobin saturation has recovered to 94.1% in laryngeal mask group, and it was 78% in face mask group; heartbeat recovery rate was 100% in laryngeal mask group, and face mask group was 84.62%, and there was no statistical significant (x2=2.94,P>0.05); breathing recovery rates were 86.96% and 19.23%, respectively, in laryngeal mask group and face mask group, and there was statistical significant (x2=19.772,P<0.05); consciousness recovery rates were 43.48% and 7.69%, respectively, between the two groups, and there was statistical significant (x2=6.627,P<0.05). Conclusion: Compared with the face mask group, to establish airway for cardiac arrest patient by using laryngeal mask airway(LMA) would got efficient results in improving anoxia in cerebral, increasing spontaneous breath rate and consciousness recovery rate.

Studies show that metformin inhibits the proliferation of several types of cancer cells. All evidences, therefore propose the anti-tumor effect of metformin.Metformin can repress the oxygen consumption of tumor cells, and suppress hypoxia-inducible factor-1α (HIF-1ct) accumulation through the translational and posttranslational mechanisms, and suppress the expression of HIF-1α by activating AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK).

Filter pass-band settings have impact not only on ECG output amplitude, but also on output signal wave-form of some types of digital electrocardiograph. Lower cut-off frequency is decided by Wander filter setting for some types of digital electrocardiograph, and higher cut-off frequency is decided by muscle filter when muscle filter functionality is "on". We research into various filter settings' impact on the output of digital electrocardiograph and have discussions on the malfunctions found in digital electrocardiograph measurement.

Journal of International Oncology 2022;49(7):425-429
Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a highly prevalent tumor in China. It has an insidious onset, rapid progression, early recurrence and poor prognosis. Most patients are already in the middle and late stages when they are diagnosed and lose the best time for surgery. Therefore, early diagnosis and treatment of HCC is crucial for patients. In recent years, contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) technology has been widely used in the diagnosis of liver diseases, especially in the diagnosis and treatment of HCC, which has an irreplaceable role. Meanwhile, the image fusion technology developed on the basis of CEUS can highlight the value of CEUS in the diagnosis and treatment of HCC.

To investigate the effects of molybdenum (Mo) and/or cadmium (Cd) on antioxidant function and the apoptosis-related genes in duck spleens. Sixty healthy 11-day-old ducks were randomly divided into six groups of 10 ducks (control, low Mo group, high Mo, Cd, low Mo + Cd, and high Mo + Cd groups). All were fed a basal diet containing low or high dietary doses of Mo and/or Cd. Relative spleen weight, antioxidant indices, apoptosis-related gene mRNA expression levels, and ultrastructural changes were evaluated after 120 days. The results showed that the relative spleen weight decreased significantly in the high Mo + Cd treatment group which compared with control group. Malondialdehyde levels increased and xanthine oxidase and catalase activities decreased in the Mo and/or Cd groups compared with levels in the control group. Bak-1 and Caspase-3 expressions were upregulated in the high Mo + Cd group, while Bcl-2 was downregulated. In addition, mitochondrial crest fracture, swelling, vacuolation, deformed nuclei, and karyopyknosis in both Mo + Cd treated groups were more severe than in the other groups. The results suggest that Mo and/or Cd can induce oxidative stress and apoptosis of spleen via effects on the mitochondrial intrinsic pathway. Moreover, the results indicate the two elements have a possible synergistic relationship.

On August 2-4,2023,the"Third Summit Forum on'Building a Community of Shared Future for Doctors and Patients'"was jointly organized by institutions such as the Chinese Medical Ethics, the Hospital Humanities Management and Talent Training Special Committee of the China Population and Culture Promotion Association,Center for Ethical Studies of Renmin University of China, the Newspaper for China's Physicians, the China Health Law Society, the China Anti-Cancer Association, and the China Association For Ethical Studies in Harbin. The conference arranged a sub-forum for the"Seminar on the Construction of Chinese Medical Humanities",with domestic medical humanities scholars attending the conference. After heated discussions at the seminar, the Scholars'Consensus on the Construction and Development of Chinese Medical Humanities was formed. It was proposed that in the new era,it is urgent to build the medical humanities discipline,as well as lead the academic integration and development of medical humanities under the core socialist values. At the same time, for the construction of the medical humanities discipline,it is necessary to optimize the organizational mechanism, prosper and develop the overall framework of the medical humanities discipline, accelerate the construction of a professional teaching team for the medical humanities discipline, promote the establishment of a new carrier medical humanities education and teaching in cultivating morality and nurturing talents,as well as focus on solving problems related to the cultivation of medical humanities graduate students.

Objective:
To investigate the effect of hypoxia inducible factor 2α (HIF-2α) on regulating CUB domain-containing protein 1 (CDCP1) and its role in hepatocellular carcinoma metastasis.
Methods:
HIF-2α-knocked down and HIF-2α-stably overexpressing cells (MHCC97H) were prepared by small interfering RNA (siRNA) and lentivirus transfection, respectively. The expression of CDCP1 protein and mRNA in the above cells was detected by western blot and real-time PCR. The effect of HIF-2α on cell invasion ability was determined by Transwell assay. Furthermore, immunohistochemical staining was performed to detect the expression of CDCP1 in human HCC tissue samples.
Results:
Both HIF-2α and CDCP1 were induced under hypoxic conditions. The activation of CDCP1 under hypoxic conditions was dependent on the expression of HIF-2α.When HIF-2α was overexpressed, the mRNA level of CDCP1 was greatly upregulated (5.92±0.28,
