International Journal of Surgery 2011;38(1):40-43
Tumor metastasis, the main characteristic and important indication of malignant tumor, is also the primary cause of death for most cancer patients. The tumor metastasis is a multistep process involving various factors, multiple interactions of many genes as well as the microenvironment. To investigate the mechanism of tumor metastasis will help us understand the essences of metastasis process, therefore exploring molecular targets for clinical diagnosis and treatment of cancer.
2.Clinical Efficacy and Mechanism Study on Lactulose Enema Intervention to MHD with UP
World Science and Technology-Modernization of Traditional Chinese Medicine 2014;(6):1327-1330
This article was aimed to discuss the mechanism of lactulose enema therapy to improve efficiency among maintenance hemodialysis (MHD) patients with uremic pruritus (UP) from the intervention of parathyroid hormone (PTH) and micro-inflammation state. A total of 60 cases of chronic kidney disease (CKD) stage 5, MHD patients with UP were randomly divided into 3 groups according to different intervention methods, which were the control group, loratadine and lactulose group. The integration of kidney disease treatment was adopted in the control group. In the loratadine group, on the basis of the control group medication, oral administration of loratadine, 10 mg/time, once a day, was combined. In the lactulose group, on the basis of the control group medication, lactulose enema, 30 mg/time, twice a day, was combined for 30 days. The pretreatment and posttreatment clinical curative effects were e-valuated among patients from 3 groups. Observation was also made on their itchy visual analogue scale (VAS) and serum PTH, high-sensitivity c-reactive protein (hs-CRP), tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), interleukin 6 (IL-6) lev-el, respectively. The results showed that there were significant improvements on VAS, PTH and inflammation indexes (i.e., hs-CRP, TNF-α, IL-6) before and after treatment (P< 0.05 or P< 0.01). Compared to the control group, the posttreatment clinical total curative effects were significantly increased in both the loratadine group and lactulose group (P< 0.05); VAS, PTH and inflammation indexes (i.e., hs-CRP, TNF-α, IL-6) were significantly decreased (P< 0.05). There was no statistical difference of indexes mentioned above in the loratadine group and lactulose group. It was concluded that lactulose enema therapy improve PTH and micro-inflammation state among MHD patients with UP. It is one of the mechanisms to relieve skin itching.

International Journal of Surgery 2012;39(9):625-629
The shortage of organs and cells from the donors continues to restrict allotransplantation. To carry out the xenotransplantation of pig as the donor is a very important method to alleviate the problem. At present, the organs of pigs (such as islet cells, neurons, liver ceils and cornea) have been initially used in clinical practice. However, significant barriers to be overcome before pig organ xenotransplantation can become a clinical therapy because of the immune and physiological disorders. With pigs that express one or more human thromboregulatory or anti-inflammatory genes being developed, the research of the xenotransplantation has made significant progress, the survival time is logner,at the same time, risk of cross-infection between species is smaller. However, immune rejection and physiological obstacles still prevent organ xenotransplantation from clinical application. This review will draw attention to the latest progress of the xenotransplantation, and provide some references for researchers.

Microbiology 2008;35(5):712-719
Strain NCIMB 10467, a lignin degrader, was reclassified as genus Burkholderia according to its 16S rDNA sequence. It seems that the metabolism of protocatechuate by this strain is diverse under the induction of various substrates. A 9505-bp DNA fragment extending from α conserved region of the gene, which encodes β subunit of orthocleavage protocatechuate 3, 4-dioxygenase(P34D; EC 1.13.11.3),was obtained by genome walking. Sequence analysis revealed two deduced open reading frames, pcaG and pcaH, encoding the α and β subunits of P34D respectively in this fragment. The P34D activity could be detected when pcaGH were expressed in E. Coli and the disruption of pcaH in strain NCIMB 10467 has lead to loss of its ability to catabolize protocatechuate. It was proved that the cloned pcaGH were encoding a functional protocatechuate 3, 4-dioxygenase which was necessary for the protocatechuate metabolism in this strain.
