24 cases of urinary fistulae which were admitted to The Department of Urology, Chonnam University Hospital, during the period from Sept. 1968 to Aug. 1971 were analyzed clinically. 1. 15 cases of all fistulae were in women and 9 in men. 2. The most common age was from 30~35 years with 50%. 3. The most commonly involved site was bladder with 66% and the most common fistula type was vesicovaginal fistula (40%). 4. The most common etiology of vesicovaginal fistula was obstetrical cause 5. 11 cases (44%) of all fistulas occurred after the operation.

3.Factors Associated with Habitual Snoring.
Korean Journal of Health Promotion 2011;11(1):18-24
BACKGROUND: There has been little research done on the factors associated with snoring among adults in Korea. METHODS: Subjects for this cross-sectional study were 1940 adults aged 20 to 80 years who had visited the health promotion center at one university hospital in Chungcheongnam-do for general health check-ups. Standard interviews, anthropometrics, and biochemical studies were conducted. Habitual snoring was defined as snoring more than 4 days per week. Multiple logistic regression analysis was used to evaluate the associations between habitual snoring and age, sex, smoking, alcohol consumption, body mass index (BMI), waist circumference, hypertension, diabetes mellitus and dyslipidemia. RESULTS: The prevalence of habitual snoring was 13.9%. The proportion of problem drinkers, current smokers, BMI equal to or greater than 25 kg/m2, abdominal obesity, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, hypercholesterolemia, hypertriglyceridemia and low HDL-cholesterolemia increased significantly with increasing frequency in snoring (P<0.05). Multiple logistic regression analysis revealed that habitual snoring was independently associated with the 50-59 years age group, male, current smokers, abdominal obesity, hypertension and low HDL-cholesterolemia (P<0.05). CONCLUSIONS: These findings show that habitual snorers are at increased risk for individual risk factors associated with cardiovascular diseases. Prospective studies are needed to further examine the causal relationship between habitual snoring and cardiovascular diseases.

The Journal of the Korean Orthopaedic Association 1986;21(4):669-678
The primary goal in the treatment of the nail bed avulsion injury is complete regrowing of the nail plate without any deformity. There are many procedures for treatment of the nail bed avulsion injury as a split-thickness skin graft, full-thickness nail bed graft, reverse dermal graft or split-thickness nail bed graft. From February, 1984 to June, 1985 at In-Chon Gill Hospital, 13 cases of nail bed avulsion injury were treated with split-thickness nail bed grafts. The intact residual part of the injured nail bed or the toe nail bed was served as a donor site. The results were as followings; 1. The incidence of nail bed avulsion injury of all hand injuries was 9.7%. 2. The main cause of injury was the industrial accident and more prevalent in the left hand. 3. The good result was obtained in the split-thickness nail bed graft for the nail bed avulsion injury, but in nail root portion, the poor result was noticed. 4. The average time for normal nail appearance is six months.

8.The Effects of Inhalation Method U sing Essential Oils on the Preoperative Anxiety of Hystrectomy Patients.
Korean Journal of Rehabilitation Nursing 2002;5(1):18-26
The purpose of this study was to elucidate the effects of inhalation method using essential oils on the preoperative anxiety of hystrectomy patients, and to provide effective and holistic nursing care to them. The research design was a nonequivalent control group non synchronized design. The data were collected from February 1 to March 31, 2002 at D Medical Center in Busan. The subjects were forty one patients that were operated on under general anesthesia for hystrectomy. They were assigned to two groups, twenty one subjects in the experimental group and twenty subjects in the control group. The tool of the Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) was used to anxiety on all patients the day before surgery and the preoperative period Then systolic and diastolic blood pressure. pulse rate levels were measured the day before surgery and the preoperative period. The experimental group received two treatments of inralation method using essential oils of with lavender, ylang ylang, and bergamot oil. The data were analyzed by be chi test and the independent t-test The results of this study were summarized as follows: 1. Hypothesis 1: It has been supported that the experimental group received inhalation method using essential ons might cause lower level of the preoperative VAS anxiety than that of the control group(t = -2. 93. p = .006) 2. Hypothesis 2: It has been rejected that the experimental group received inhalation method using essential oils might cause lower level in the preoperative systolic blood pressure than the control group(t=-.120, p= .905). It has been rejected that the experimental group received inhalation method using essential oils might cause lower level in the preoperative diastolic blood pressure than the control grouP.(t=1.766, p=.085). 3. Hypothesis 3. It has been supported that the experimental group received inhalation method using essential oils might cause lower level in preoperative pulse rate than the control group(t=5.853, p=.000) According to these results. inhalation method using essential oils can be considered an effective nursing intervention that relieves the preoperative anxiety of hysterectomy patients and stabilizes vital sign partially.

10.A Case of Cavernous Hemangiomatosis involving all Tendon Sheath of Flexors and Median Nerve of the Right Forearm
Tae Jung OH ; Kun Youg LEE ; Jae Jung KIM
The Journal of the Korean Orthopaedic Association 1972;7(1):159-162
A case of eavernous hemangiomatosis involving alI tendon sheath of flexors and median nerve of the right forearm is reported. This case was a 22 year old Korean male who complained of painful swelling of the flexor side of right wrist region, limited motion of wrist joint, loss of pinching and opposition with tingling sensation on the admission. Roentgenographic examination revealed fusiform swelling of the soft tissues in flexor aspect of the right wrist region, with phlebolith, 3mm. in diameter. The tumor mass looked like strawberry in shape, and was scattered into all tendon sheath of flexors of the forearm, median nerve, the distal half of pronator quadrtus and other surrounding soft tissues. The specimen was confirmed as cavernous hemangioma in microscopic examination. The right long arm splint was applied for 3 weeks, and then the patient was treated with physical therapy for 4 months. Pinching, opposition, and motion of the right wrist joint recovered almost completly, and no evidence of the recurrence of hemangiomatosis was seen until 8 months after surgery.
