Primary malignancy of the thymus gland in myasthenia gravis remains rare, especially metastasis of the malignancy to a distant organ. We have presented a case of myasthenia gravis with invasive thymoma and its meatastasis to the diaphragm. The literature concerned with this aspect is reviewed.

Journal of Korean Neuropsychiatric Association 1999;38(3):523-529
OBJECTIVES: The aim of this study was to evaluate the psychological characteristics of the patients with bruxism by Minnesota Multiphase Personality Inventory(MMPI). METHODS: MMPI was administered to 87 patients(46 bruxism group and 41 control group) who had visited a local dental clinic from January to August 1998. RESULTS: The bruxism group had a higher score than control group in Masculinity-Femininity(Mf) scale. There were no differences between bruxism group and control group on the distribution of Depression(D), Psychopatic Deviate(Pd), Paranoia(Pa), Psychasthenia(Pt) scales. The bruxism group with the family history showed higher score than the bruxism group without family history in Pd scale. Male bruxism group had a higher score than female bruxism group in Defensiveness(K) scale and female bruxism group had higher score than male bruxism group in Pa scale. The bruxism group of clenching type had higher score than the bruxism group of mixed type in Social Introversion(Si) scale. There were no differences in MMPI score between those who had and did not have symptoms such as masticatory musle pain, neck pain and headache. CONCLUSION: It is concluded that individualized approach may be effective to the evaluation of psychological disturbances which might be related to sex, family history and, type of bruxism, while we did not find significant differences in personality charateristics between the bruxism and control groups.

8.Clinical Study on Korean Glaucomatous Patients.
Journal of the Korean Ophthalmological Society 1987;28(3):583-588
A clinical study was carried out on 206 glaucomatous patients(295 eyes) from July 1982 to December 1985 in the Department of Ophthalmology of Hanyang University Hospital. The results were as follows: 1. The glaucomatous patients consisted of 34.0% of primary open angle glaucoma(P.O.A.G.), 32.5% of secondary glaucoma, 20.9% of primary angle closure glaucoma(P.A.C.G.), 73% of ocular hypertension, 3.9% of congenital glaucoma and 1.5% of low tension glaucoma. 2. The mean intraocular pressure(IOP) of P.O.A.G. and acute stage of P.A.C.G. was 33.4 +/- 15.5 and 55.2 +/- 8.4mmHg, respectively. 3. 43.1 +/- 16.3 years was the mean age of P.O.A.G. and 61.6 +/- 9.5 years was that of P.A.C.G. 4. In overall glaucomatous patients there was no remarkable sex-difference except P.A.C.G. which showed higher prepondrence of females. 5. There was no significant difference in laterality between left and right eyes with glaucoma or ocular hypertension.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1986;24(6):743-750
This study was carried out to determine the effect of long term administration of vitamin A on the changes of lipids in liver tissue and serum in rat. The animals were fed with control diet(200 ug/day) and high vitimin A diet(2, 000 ug/day) for 24 weeks. Vitamin A contents of liver in high vitamin A fed rats were increased linearly accordance with duration of the vitamin A administration, but levels of serum vitamin A showed unremarkable changes during the experimental period. Contents of cholesterol and triglycerides of vitarnin A fed rats were significantly higher than those of controls. Levels of HDL-triglycerides in v:itamin A fed rats were significantly higher than those of control rats during experimental period, while levels of HDL-cholesterol and HDL-phospholipids showed unremarkable changes during experimental period. Levels of individual cholesteryl esters showed undremarkable changes during experimental period in both animal groups.

Journal of the Korean Society of Neonatology 1998;5(1):104-108
We experienced a case of congenital rubella syndrome manifesting patent ductus arteriosus, petechiae, microcephaly, intrauterine growth retardation, and hepatomegaly in one-day-old female newborn infant. Congenital rubella syndrome was confirmed by positive results of anti-rubella IgM in the sera of patient. Anti-rubella IgM was negative in the sera of mother, while anti-rubella IgG was positive.
